If Hillary’s chances are riding on Hispanics and Femocons, she may find that her miserable campaign is only going to get worse.

The only significant support Hillary Clinton has left is the Feminists and certain Hispanic groups, but it seems she’s losing many of those voters to Barack Obama. Or more accurately, he’s taking them from her.

The Women:

Many women that consider themselves, “feminists” actually do think about issues that paint a bigger picture. These ladies seem to understand that ending the war in Iraq and other humanitarian issues are even more important than having a set of tits in the Oval Office. To these ladies it’s not about being selfish, single minded, or just plain nutty. It’s about the overall good. Which candidate will do the best overall.
This is the kind of selfless wisdom American women are famous for. This is the kind of strength it takes to reach the prize.

Naturally a woman President would appeal to a “Feminist", I’d like to have Tommy Chong in the White House too. But if he was pro war, anti-privacy, and a corporate whore, I would never vote for him either.

Barack Obama has always been a champion of women’s issues and his record is consistent in that regard. He is also NOT pro war and anti-privacy.
That’s the reason 1′500 Feminists for Peace, as well as many Feminist Leaders, have endorsed Barack Obama…

As explained by Professor Eileen Boris, Director of the Center for Research on Women and Social Justice at the University of California, Santa Barbara, “Voting for Bush’s war showed Senator Clinton more concerned with future political viability than with the impact of war on the world’s women, men, families and the environment. That’s not my idea of global feminism.”

Adele Welty, a social worker whose firefighter son died in the World Trade Center, deplored Clinton’s unfriendly attitude towards antiwar constituents. Noting the Senator’s unwillingness to meet with peace groups, Welty described her personal experience of Clinton’s “dismissive” staff when she and others traveled to Washington DC. to express their views. “I would love to be able to vote for a woman, but it would have to be a woman who is able to maintain her integrity.”

Some women, most I’m confident, actually do care more about their country and what’s right than about personal satisfaction and exhibiting misandry.
After all, it was largely females that helped Obama to victory in South Carolina. You can bet he will do far better amongst women in Texas than some want to believe.

The Hispanic Vote:

The Clinton’s have never done anything significant for the Hispanic population. Many Hispanic voters identify with Clinton in name recognition only and vote in Democratic blocks.
And recently, Barack Obama has been making strong waves among Hispanic voters as those voters are learning more about him.
Obama did win the Hispanic votes in Illinois and Colorado and did better than expected in New Mexico and Arizona.
His ability to court Hispanic votes continues to grow, and let’s face it, the status quo has been lying to Hispanics just as long as it’s been lying to the rest of us.
Young Latinos want change too.

CNN writer Ruben Navarrette Jr. points out a very important factor concerning one of Hillary’s abundant debate gaffs…

“During a debate in Los Angeles, she answered a question by pitting undocumented Latino immigrants against African-Americans.

She blamed jobs losses on “employers who exploit undocumented workers and drive down wages.” And she mentioned an African-American who told her that he used to have construction jobs but now “the only people who get them anymore are people who are here without documentation.”

Faced with the same question, Obama pointed out that African-Americans had high unemployment rates long “before the latest round of immigrants showed up” and cautioned against using the immigration issue to divide Americans.

Obama also insisted – to rousing applause – that blaming immigrants for unemployment among blacks amounts to “scapegoating” and said he wouldn’t tolerate it. Score one for Obama. You can almost hear the mariachis warming up.”

So can we.

US Drug Czar, John P Walters, is quickly gaining on Pinocchio and President Bush in the nose-length-due-to-lying category.

With Marijuana vending machines and trade schools for growers popping up out West, I’d say the ONDCP (Office of National Drug Control Policy) is getting a little nervous these days. The juggernaut that is Medical Marijuana is blowing through this country like a big, green tornado and there is no stopping it. Heroin, Meth, Pills and Cocaine are everywhere. The Drug War has been lost.
Naturally, the Federal Government, instead of embracing the inevitable, has once again chosen a path of misinformation, propaganda and outright lies in order to justify their existence.

Czar (lol) Walters, the Bush Regime Minister of Drug Paranoia, recently was caught in a couple of doozies….

The drug task force branch of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police recently debunked the ONDCP assertion that some sort of “Extreme Ecstasy” was finding it’s way across the Canadian border into the US.
Walters, no stranger to utterances of the unsubstantiated, employed the media to embark upon yet another False Drug Alarm in a effort to remain relevant.

“This extreme ecstasy is a disturbing development in what has been one of the most significant international achievements against the illicit drug trade,” Walters said.

However,

Supt. Paul Nadeau of the RCMP made the following statement…

“I shook my head when I read the release that they put out,” said Nadeau, who’s never heard of extreme ecstasy.

“That term is unknown to us, certainly in Canada, and I can tell you that I’ve spoken to law enforcement people in the U.S. and they’ve never heard of it either so it would appear that it’s a term that somebody came up with in a boardroom in Washington, D.C.”

When losing a Drug War, sometimes one must at least provide the illusion that they’re winning in order to justify the 19 Billion Dollar per year budget and their jobs.
Thus the false Ecstasy scare.

In yet another scandalous display, Walters attempted to establish that the rise in Cocaine prices in the nation was evidence that production was down….

“as a result of reduced supply, street cocaine prices over the first nine months of the year rose to an average $136.93 per pure gram at the end of September, a 44% increase from January” Walters said.

Bill Piper, director of national affairs for the Drug Policy Alliance said it best…

“Assuming that high cocaine prices are hurting cartels is like assuming high gasoline prices are hurting oil companies,”

Fact is, there’s a very distinct reason Cocaine prices are higher (no pun intended). You can’t carry 2000lbs of blow on horseback or pack mule.
It takes GASOLINE to power the trucks, planes, cars etc that move the druggage around.
Higher gas prices mean higher prices at the grocery store, the restaurants, the everywhere.
Higher prices for drugs too.

So, no. Mr. Czar. You are not winning anything. Bush era gas prices have just made it a little more expensive to move drugs across the country. That’s why a gram of Cocaine costs 100.00 in California and 175.00 in New York. It takes more gas to get to New York, Socrates.

He also said something about Marijuana Growers being terrorists, but some lies are so intellectually void that they just aren’t worthy of comment except to say that if Drugs were legal there would be no underground, unaccounted for money.
So let’s just say that drug laws support terrorists instead.

The Drug War, as it is, is an abject failure. People go to jail, people get out of jail, drugs are everywhere, people die over the money involved, people are killed by police at wrong addresses,
Billions of dollars are being spent each year and I can get any drug I want withing six blocks of my home. In a middle class neighborhood in a conservative city.

But John Walters is winning! He needs another Billion or three of our tax dollars!!

The only thing that changes is the excuses, and then only to make the words rhyme.

Ever buy at a used car lot? Sounds creepy I know, but it always poses the same difficult, intriguing question. Which piece of crap is less crappy.
Ultimately, that’s the only thing that matters….

I’m thankful to God that I’m not a Republican. Even death seems preferable to spiritual stagnation, moral turpitude, and an existence steeped in fear. I have, in the past, entertained the thought of what it would feel like to be a registered Republican voter. I came up with anything from needing a hot shower to well, nothing. Nothing is what one would have to feel to vote for evil and be able to sleep at night.
A sociopathic world view just isn’t for me I guess.

But in light of the upcoming Repiglikan Primary and the fact that Johnson City, TN Mayor, Phil Roe, is challenging for Filthy Jesus-Pimp, David Davis’ Congressional seat in TN-1, I’m tempted to put on my waders and trudge my way through the cesspool that is a GOP primary voting day.

I’ve viewed it before, from afar. It reminded me of one of those cheap, roaming carnivals that pop up in your town every once in a while. Complete with Bearded Ladies, sad-faced clowns, and things to throw darts at. At least… things you’d like to throw darts at.
As aesthetically displeasing as it can be, this time it would be well worth the travail. This time there would be a chance to remove the single most useless, destructive, and dangerous Congressman District one has ever had the misfortune of being represented by.

Phil Roe served his country in the US Army. David Davis is a chickenhawk. He’s pro war but never fought in one and will not let his children sacrifice for their country.
As a House Representative, Davis has consistently voted against our Troops.

David Davis has used Jesus and the Christian faith as a stepping stone to personal gain. Earning himself the title of Jesus-Pimp extraordinaire’, Davis shamelessly exploited the most holy of names to gain money and votes during the 2006 congressional elections. The proof is HERE.

4) Liar, Liar, pants on fire!

He is a Republican so this surely could be a lie. But that remains to be seen.

David Davis, in 2006, represented himself as being “from Johnson City, TN". That statement was removed from his web page after Ablogination called and questioned his staff about it.
They stated emphatically on the phone that he was “from Johnson City". The fact is, he’s from Anderson, Indiana. Not Tennessee.
After informing his staff as to his place of rearing we were promptly hung up on.

No big deal, unless you try to cover it up and it takes the form of a deception. Then you’re a liar, nothing more.

All in all, it’s the voting record that matters most. Obviously Roe doesn’t have one yet. But Davis does and it’s one of the most disgusting records imaginable. Davis votes consistently against people and for corporate interests.

Davis voted against:

Bringing our troops home and against supplying them with badly needed equipment.

Health Care for Children

Funding for Emergency personnel and other first responders.

Making Big Oil pay their fair share of taxes.

Clean water and clean energy.

…and a host of other fine, American Dream oriented legislative efforts like lower prescription costs for senior citizens, medical Marijuana, higher minimum wage, and punishing environmental terrorists, such as strip miners, for the damage to our eco-system.

In short, David Davis has failed.

Phil Roe has his head up his ass on a lot of issues, but he does have the right take on many others. David Davis is wrong 100% of the time.

Davis has to go, he just has to go. And if TN-1 isn’t smart enough to elect a Democratic Rep, at least we can un-elect a complete and total loser.

Vote Roe in the Republican Primary August 7th.

Time for Hillary, if she cares anything about her own party (which she doesn’t) to stand down and get out of the way of progress…

The last obstacle in BushCo’s path to escaping justice is immunity for Verizon and ATT. Two of the corporate telecom companies that turned their customer’s personal information over to the Government, in violation of the constitution and their own stated privacy policies, are clamoring for immunity and their bought-and-paid-for politicians are working just as hard to give it to them.

Democrats in the house have said “NO” in a very loud voice. Nancy Pelosi even going as far as to shelve the legislation and allowing it to expire. Finally. Finally a stand against the invasion of your privacy.
Finally a stand in favor of accountability for both White House and Corporation alike.

The House has offered you a compromise that allows you to spy on “terrorists” as long as it doesn’t involve immunity for telecoms. You have rejected that. That means it is you, Chimpy McCokespoon, who is aiding the terrorists. You have harmed our ability to protect America simply because “immunity” is not included. It’s clear that you care more about your Corporo-Fascist friends than you do about keeping Americans “safe".

But that’s hardly news, is it?

The present FISA legislation, as it stands, gives the government all the power it needs to observe genuine terrorism-related suspects. There is no need for this new legislation. It only exists to provide said immunity to the Pigs at Verizon and ATT amongst others.
That’s the only thing that Bushco and the Republican party are crying about, immunity for their money-go-round. The “threats” and “dangers” Bush is spewing about do not exist. This is all being done in the name of Fascism.
There is no other reason.

Bush opposed a temporary extension of the bill, and lawmakers left for a 12-day recess without extending the law.

“Some congressional leaders claim that this will not affect our security,” the president said. “They are wrong. Because Congress failed to act, it will be harder for our government to keep you safe from terrorist attack. At midnight, the attorney general and the director of National Intelligence will be stripped of their power to authorize new surveillance against terrorist threats abroad. This means that as terrorists change their tactics to avoid our surveillance, we may not have the tools we need to continue tracking them — and we may lose a vital lead that could prevent an attack on America.”

Democrats chose Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, a former U.S. attorney and attorney general of Rhode Island, to deliver their Saturday radio address on the same subject.

“We know this president dislikes compromise, but this time he has taken his stubborn approach too far,” Whitehouse said. “He is whipping up false fears, and creating artificial confrontation. As the president himself said in the Rose Garden, ‘There is really no excuse for letting this critical legislation expire. So let’s get it done.’

The only reason Bush rejected the House Approved extension is because it did not contain immunity for his treasonous friends. Immunity that if granted, would protect the offenders from litigation and prosecution.

The Democrats in the House have done good in this case. Real good. Now if they will just stand firmly against the BushCo fear machine they will win. They will actually have done the right thing and backed up their previously bullshit talk about “checks and balances” and “accountability".

Let’s hope this is the beginning of normalcy and not just another instance of our elected officials blowing sunshine up our asses.

Apparently, Barack Obama has accused Hillary Clinton of, OH MY GOD!, “having mood swings".

Jeeze, whatever gave him that idea?

“I understand Sen. Clinton, periodically, when she is feeling down, launches attacks as a way of trying to boost her appeal,” Obama said in Milwaukee.

He said,"peroidically".

The latest threat to Democracy doesn’t come from Republicans. It doesn’t come from Evanganoid Jesus-Pimps or from Corporo-Fascist conglomerations. It comes from the Democratic Party it’s self. Or at least, the jelly spined cowards that remain within it.

The threat is called “Super Delegates".

As the great Liberal political analyst, David Sarota, writes for the Huffington Post, the “Super Delegates” (also knows as bribed insiders) are warming up and dropping hints to the media about their possible efforts to override the properly Democratic vote in the Democratic Primary and appoint Hillary Clinton nominee should the people get their way and nominate Barack Obama.
Nothing could be less Democratic, or more provoking to the people, than some stuffed DLC BlueDog asswipe telling Democratic voters that our vote is worthless.
Where have we experienced that before?

Apparently, Clinton herself has already stated that she will ignore the will of the Democratic voters if Obama wins the pledged delegates and attempt to circumvent the electoral process. Much like Bush did when the Supreme Court had to appoint a loser to the White House in 2000.

This follows Clinton hack Lanny Davis’s missive on Huffington Post saying almost exactly the same thing (after embarrassing himself by claiming Adlai Stevenson was elected president). It also comes as the Boston Globe today reports that Clinton is determined to “take the Democratic nomination even if she does not win the popular vote” with a plan to “persuade enough superdelegates to vote for her at the convention.” Clinton “will not concede the race to Obama if he wins a greater number of pledged delegates by the end of the primary season, and will count on the 796 elected officials and party bigwigs to put her over the top, if necessary, said Clinton’s communications director, Howard Wolfson.”

Like we’ve stated many times here at Ablogination, Hillary Clinton is Bush Lite (or perhaps not so lite).
Power crazed, shameless, self serving, immoral, and thoroughly un-Democratic. That is the Clinton Cabal in a nutshell. A slightly faded carbon copy of the Bush regime.

In all seriousness, if these “Stuper Delegates” quash our votes, don’t be surprised if rioting occurs. Rioting that is perhaps justified. The Democratic party has been trusted to give us back our voice. Now certain members seek to take it away instead.

We will pledge this, at TN420.org… Pay attention because we mean it.
If Obama wins the nomination, and “Stuper Delegates” nullify our votes, WE WILL RE-REGISTER AS REPIGS AND VOTE FOR McCAIN (as much as we hate the fuck, we’re not going to be stabbed in the back any more). Just to teach these pig-fuck Clintonistas that our vote is going to be counted or we will vote directly against them in the general election. I encourage anyone that supports Obama to do likewise if need be.
For the record, no one at TN420 has ever voted for a Repig either nationally or locally. Not even for dog catcher. Ever.

If Hillary wins the nomination properly, we have no complaint. If she steals it, it’s on.

Recently, a group of California Doctors attacked the Insurance giant, Blue Cross, for presuming to violate the sacred Doctor/patient privacy agreement. The physicians were clearly and justly outraged that Blue Cross would attempt to prod Doctors to “rat out” patients who display underlying health problems that could disqualify them from coverage.

We’re outraged that they are asking doctors to violate the sacred trust of patients to rat them out for medical information that patients would expect their doctors to handle with the utmost secrecy and confidentiality,” said Dr. Richard Frankenstein, president of the California Medical Association.

In other words, you go to the doctor because you have a rash. The doctor notices that your blood work shows another illness such as Hepatitis and he informs your insurance carrier. Your insurance company didn’t know you had Hepatitis because you didn’t know.
They cancel your insurance and refuse to pay for the treatment you just received. If you work for a living, you’re fucked. You can’t afford the bill, your credit is ruined, and now you can’t get treated for the new problem because insurance companies share your info and you can’t get covered. Now you’re ill, uncovered and in debt.

The insurance industry is out of control and someone has to do something about it. From this latest act of corporate health care fascism and deceit committed by Blue Cross, to the Cigna actions that killed 17-year-old Nataline Sarkisyan, to mandatory drug testing in the workplace, to mandatory law enforcement supported insurance. It’s too much power for a company run by vultures, vampires and other such corporate whores to have. Way too much. It has to stop.
Privacy like we have in America is far too rare and precious to be left unguarded.

The Insurance Industry and all corporate entities that seek to violate privacy must be beaten into submission. We have to have a president that will do that. Whoever you vote for, you’re a fool if you don’t find out where they stand on your personal privacy. Once it’s gone it’s gone. You won’t get it back.

ATT, Verizon, Blue Cross, Homeland Security… all of them and many more have, are, and will again violate your privacy.

The Spineless Senate today passed the new FISA legislation that includes retroactive immunity for Verizon and ATT. Two companies accused of violating their privacy policies by turning over the personal information of their customers to the NSA. All of their customers.

Interesting to see which candidates care about your privacy and which don’t. Barack Obama showed up and voted “NO” on this ridiculous, privacy squashing legislation. McCain voted in favor of violating your privacy, of course. Hillary Clinton seemingly couldn’t be bothered as she failed to show up for this tell-tale vote. Even though she was in the DC area.

The Clinton campaign has begun to wither, and with it, the wall Hillary Clinton has been hiding behind.

Patti Solis Doyle announced that she is stepping down as the campaign manager for the presidential campaign of Sen. Hilary Clinton, D-N.Y., ABC News has learned that this afternoon.

In a note she sent to her staff, Solis Doyle announced that this week Maggie Williams, Clinton’s chief of staff when she was first lady, “will begin to assume the duties of campaign manager.” Solis Doyle said she would remain as a senior adviser to the campaign.

The Obama camp now projects topping Clinton by 13 delegates, 847 to 834.

NBC News, which is projecting delegates based on the Democratic Party’s complex formula, figures Obama will wind up with 840 to 849 delegates, versus 829 to 838 for Clinton.

Clinton was portrayed in many news accounts as the night’s big winner, but Obama’s campaign says he wound up with a higher total where it really counts — the delegates who will choose the party’s nominee at this summer’s Democratic convention.

First, one must consider the established celebrity of the Clinton name. Perhaps one of the most recognized names in world politics, one would think that such an advantage would be beginning to show by now. If we see it at all, we see it in the fact that she’s not hanging up her Blue Dress as we speak.
Name recognition, the misandrous, and the mal-informed knee-jerk Democratic voters are basically the only thing keeping Hillary Clinton in the race.

The fact that Obama, a previously no-name Jr. Senator, has come out of Super Tuesday actually ahead of Clinton speaks well of the “change” movement this country is undergoing. It also speaks very clearly to the fact that more and more Democrats are getting tired of the same old rhetoric, scandalous politispeak, and outright lies emanating from the Mark Penn controlled Clinton Shit-Machine.

Though a new dawn would have been much, much brighter had it followed John Edwards, there remains a light in the Democratic darkness. It’s warm glow, I feel, will continue to obscure the cold and callous darkness of the past and the Power-Whores that seek to extinguish it.

May the light of change burn brightly, and the agents of oligarchy fade into the darkness where they truly belong.

We actually wrote this about a year ago (Apr 20 ‘07), but it seems to pertain to recent developments fairly well (i.e. we told you so).

How many “Veteran Friends” do you really have, John?

RAW STORY spoke last week with Kiley, as well as Ted Sampley, a North Carolina-based publisher who has been harshly criticizing McCain for more than 10 years. Sampley teamed up with Kiley in 2004 to found a similar group that targeted Senator John Kerry as he ran for president. They see McCain as an apologist for Vietnam’s Communist government who sold out fellow POWs and servicemen missing in action from America’s lengthy war in Southeast Asia.

Of course, there’s the Forrestal and Oriskany disasters where McCain also performed in a questionable manner…

During the fighting of the fire and while VF-74 and VF-11 were still counting their dead, McCain was helicoptered off the Forrestal to the USS Oriskany, which suffered a major fire on October 27, 1966, that killed 44 sailors. In that event, thousand pound bombs were jettisoned away from the fire but the lessons of the Oriskany went unheeded by the Forrestal’s officers, including McCain, who served with the VA-163 Saints on board the Oriskany when the fire on that vessel occurred. On October 26, 1967, McCain was shot down over North Vietnam during a bombing sortie from the Oriskany.

Now aside from all this veteran stuff, we have one of the finest examples of pure, unadulterated dishonesty and Conservative political greed. The Keating 5.

What does this McCain review tell us? Several things…

1) McCain may be a traitor.

2) McCain is a crook and a wholly dishonest man.

3) McCain is a hap-hazard klutz that disaster follows around like a puppy follows it’s owner.

We’ve had enough disaster when it comes to Presidents.
We’ve had enough lies and double speak. We’ve had enough humiliation and most of all, we’ve had enough unnecessary loss of life.

Trouble is, like Bush, McCain has only failure, deceit and bungling ignorance to offer America and the world.
He is the quintessential Republican candidate.

Nothing has changed. The Republicans are still bottom-feeders willing to sacrifice honor, dignity and the lives of brave people for a tax cut and a copy of the Ten Commandments.

Progressive Democrats of America, a leading Netroots Liberal online organization is finally getting behind a new candidate…

PDA strongly and enthusiastically supported Dennis Kucinich and John Edwards in their presidential bids. Now that Kucinich and Edwards have ended their candidacies, PDA, seeing no better option, is rightfully backing Barack Obama.

Obama, in spite of some minor indiscretions and a healthy dose of naivety, seems to be growing in political maturity. The point being, his mistakes were due largely to lack of knowledge and political savvy.
The vast and varied transgressions of Hillary Clinton did not arise from being quaintly naive. They arose from the greed, the lust for power, and the deep-rooted Right Wing leaning both she and Bill have always displayed.

Naivety can be cured with education and experience, greed and thirst for power are terminal.
Barack obama is the most Liberal, and trainable, candidate we have left.

One speaks, one sulks

Tom Hayden of PDA recently made the following statements…

That leaves Barack Obama. I have been devastated by too many tragedies and betrayals over the past 40 years to ever again deposit so much hope in any single individual, no matter how charismatic or brilliant. But today I see across the generational divide the spirit, excitement, energy and creativity of a new generation bidding to displace the old ways. Obama’s moment is their moment, and I pray that they succeed without the sufferings and betrayals my generation went through. There really is no comparison between the Obama generation and those who would come to power with Hillary Clinton, and I suspect she knows it. The people she would take into her administration may have been reformers and idealists in their youth, but they seem to seek now a return to their establishment positions of power. They are the sorts of people young Hillary Clinton herself would have scorned at Wellesley. If history is any guide, the new “best and brightest” of the Obama generation will unleash a new cycle of activism, reform and fresh thinking before they follow pragmatism to its dead end.

Though Mr. Hayden makes it abundantly clear that he personally is supporting the Obama movement and not necessarily the man. We have no problem with that because we still don’t trust Obama 100% either. His judgment more than his character.

But then again, A Clinton cannot be trusted at all.
Though both Hillary and Barack have made both good and bad decisions as Senators, clearly two particular differences stand out…

1) Hillary backed the war on Iraq from the very beginning and she has never displayed the courage to admit that epic error and face it as any mature, humble person would.
Clinton was, of course, fed the same bullshit intel that the rest of the world was offered, but she did not have the foresight to see through it like so many of us and a few politicians did. Hillary Clinton trusts and embraces the Right-Wing. We cannot afford such a person.

And most importantly of all to anyone who cherishes freedom and privacy….

2) Hillary Clinton approved, recently, the implementation and funding of the privacy destroying Real ID. The national ID Card that makes your personal data from medical records to banking available to the both the government and major corporations.
Although the REAL ID Act was passed in May 2005, states and public organizations have rebelled against the scheme. Sixteen states have passed legislation rejecting REAL ID and there are bills in both US legislative houses that would repeal the Act creating the national identification system.
There is nothing more important than our privacy. This issue broadly overshadows any other that we are confronted with. Hillary Clinton let us down and failed to protect our privacy. Obama did not.

Steve Cobble, also of PDA and formerly of Kucinich ‘04 and ‘08, had these points to make….

PDA’s roots began in opposition to the Iraq War. PDA’s entire existence has been a daily fight to end a war that never should have been started. We all know that. And over the next few days, we have a chance to act in harmony with our antiwar roots.

Here’s the essence of the situation: if Senator Obama can make it through next Tuesday in decent shape–or better–the electoral terrain in the rest of the month of February seems very favorable to his candidacy. But Senator Clinton is going for a knockout punch right now, this week, trying to dominate in places where PDA has some strength, states like California and Massachusetts.

Why should PDA care? Well, since PDA’s top-ranked candidates–Kucinich and Edwards–have now withdrawn, PDA supporters who wanted to could still make a difference in the next few days for our third-ranked candidate, Barack Obama, especially in California and Massachusetts.

PDA supporters who wanted to could still make a difference in the next few days, especially in CA & MA. We could email our personal lists, call our friends, blog our support online, volunteer, vote. We could, if we wanted to, choose to act.

My own thoughts, as a lifelong antiwar activist, are pretty straightforward at this point. There are two main candidates left.

One of them, Barack Obama, spoke out against the war in October of 2002, before it started.

The other one, Hillary Clinton, voted to authorize that war only 8 days later.
Their speeches are worth reading. Obama got it right. Clinton got it wrong. I’m going to support the one that got it right.

As of today (we just heard), MoveOn.org, the champion of democracy in America, has polled it’s members as to who they should endorse for the Democratic nomination. MoveOn members have endorsed Barack Obama by a landslide.
Clearly Liberals, Progressives and others will be turning from the spastic, embarrassing Clinton’s and rallying around Barack Obama for one last fight to save this country from Republican failure and corporate-funded fascism.

We at Ablogination, who supported Dennis Kucinich and then John Edwards, and their populist movements, now ask all like-minded Americans to join us in the last battle and support Barack Obama. Even if you have to grit your teeth to do it.

The Status Quo must go.
