Voter Considerations: Privacy, is it important to you?
I can’t think of anything in American culture more valuable than personal privacy. It’s more important than each of our very lives. That’s why soldiers so freely sacrifice their lives for it. For your’s.
That’s why people that understand and care about things like sacrifice and duty have no choice but to oppose even the slightest encroachment upon personal privacy. Especially when the intrusion comes from Government or Corporation, and even more urgently, a combination of the two. Otherwise known as State Corporatism. Another form of Fascism.
Imagine a world where your every move is continually observed by others. Your movements, your money, what you buy, what you apply for…
Save your thought time, it’s already here.
Recently, a group of California Doctors attacked the Insurance giant, Blue Cross, for presuming to violate the sacred Doctor/patient privacy agreement. The physicians were clearly and justly outraged that Blue Cross would attempt to prod Doctors to “rat out” patients who display underlying health problems that could disqualify them from coverage.
We’re outraged that they are asking doctors to violate the sacred trust of patients to rat them out for medical information that patients would expect their doctors to handle with the utmost secrecy and confidentiality,” said Dr. Richard Frankenstein, president of the California Medical Association.
In other words, you go to the doctor because you have a rash. The doctor notices that your blood work shows another illness such as Hepatitis and he informs your insurance carrier. Your insurance company didn’t know you had Hepatitis because you didn’t know.
They cancel your insurance and refuse to pay for the treatment you just received. If you work for a living, you’re fucked. You can’t afford the bill, your credit is ruined, and now you can’t get treated for the new problem because insurance companies share your info and you can’t get covered. Now you’re ill, uncovered and in debt.
The insurance industry is out of control and someone has to do something about it. From this latest act of corporate health care fascism and deceit committed by Blue Cross, to the Cigna actions that killed 17-year-old Nataline Sarkisyan, to mandatory drug testing in the workplace, to mandatory law enforcement supported insurance. It’s too much power for a company run by vultures, vampires and other such corporate whores to have. Way too much. It has to stop.
Privacy like we have in America is far too rare and precious to be left unguarded.
The Insurance Industry and all corporate entities that seek to violate privacy must be beaten into submission. We have to have a president that will do that. Whoever you vote for, you’re a fool if you don’t find out where they stand on your personal privacy. Once it’s gone it’s gone. You won’t get it back.
ATT, Verizon, Blue Cross, Homeland Security… all of them and many more have, are, and will again violate your privacy.
The Spineless Senate today passed the new FISA legislation that includes retroactive immunity for Verizon and ATT. Two companies accused of violating their privacy policies by turning over the personal information of their customers to the NSA. All of their customers.
Interesting to see which candidates care about your privacy and which don’t. Barack Obama showed up and voted “NO” on this ridiculous, privacy squashing legislation. McCain voted in favor of violating your privacy, of course. Hillary Clinton seemingly couldn’t be bothered as she failed to show up for this tell-tale vote. Even though she was in the DC area.
I guess it’s clear who cares about your privacy and who doesn’t…
The Senate action on the wiretap bill prompted the return to the chamber of two presidential candidates, Democratic Senator Barack Obama of Illinois and Republican Senator John McCain of Arizona. Obama voted against immunity for telephone companies, while McCain voted in favor of keeping the provision in the bill.
Senator Hillary Clinton of New York, the other Senate Democrat running for the White House, did not appear for the vote. Clinton, Obama, and McCain were in the Washington area for Tuesday’s primaries in the nation’s capital, Maryland and Virginia.
Senator Clinton, an ardent supporter of anti-privacy legislation, also fully and willingly supports the Real ID (National ID Card).
Think we’re paranoid? Think this isn’t happening now?
Here’s a small, well hidden example of the FACT that it IS happening now. As we write.
Musician’s Friend .com, a well known online musician’s resource for musical instruments and accessories also seems to be assisting Homeland Security in collecting your personal info.
If you go to their site and click on an item to purchase, you see a page like this.
If you decide to apply for credit you can click the “Finance Now” button next to the item’s price. This takes you to a page where you apply for credit. On this page you find the following statement by Musician’s Friend….
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT PROCEDURES FOR OPENING A NEW ACCOUNT
To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account. What this means for you: When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver’s license or other identifying documents. PATRIOT ACT (8/03)
So you see? If you applied for credit or opened an account, your info, all of it, has been given to the federal government. Not just if you tried to contact someone overseas, all info on everyone. You’re now a terrorist until you prove that you’re not.
If it was just about “terrorism", why does a site that sells musical instruments collect such information? Are the “terrorists” going to hijack a Stratocaster and fly it into a building? Drive an explosive laden electric piano into a night club? Maybe they’ll launch rockets from a fucking Tuba.
They don’t care about “terrorists", they want YOUR info. “Terrorism” is just an excuse.
Better stick to your local music store and pay cash.
It’s not a joke, it’s not a game, we’re not making it up. The Corporate American Government wants your personal info. All of it.
They want to watch your money, your habits, your lifestyle. They want to deny you employment due to medical history, deny you insurance and your right to privacy between you and your doctor , deny you education financing, and financial avenues that are available to the wealthy such as loans and credit.
If Musician’s Friend will fuck us, anyone will.
Care about your privacy? You’d better fucking vote like you do. Because the assault on our privacy is very, very real and very, very NOW.
And Barack Obama is the only one in the race that seems to care.
Go to the Polls, vote with your head.

Therefore, you better do something to keep them out, and spying is THE best way to stay one step ahead of them.
I'm not worry that the government is listening to the phone calls between me and my girlfriend; I could care less. Keep those idiots out of my Country; that's more important. Otherwise there won't be any phone call between my girlfriend and me; I'll be dead!
There are no terrorists capable of "taking America". Are you out of your mind?
The paranoia is eating you up, my friend.
I sympathize, I really do. I'm well known for being rather harsh on people that are scared of ragheads and choose to live in fear. But believe me, I hate this administration of lies for many reasons, one of which is what they've done to folks like yourself.
People that just want their families to be safe.
Let me ask you something, of the most recent acts of terrorism that have occurred in this country (campus shootings, mall shootings, etc), how many of the perpetrators were Muslim? Arab?? Foreign???
You've been lied to in order to keep you subservient and afraid to question.
You've chosen fear over the American way.
That's exactly the result BushCo. and Israel were looking for.
The threat that fills you with such foreboding does not exist.
"we have nothing to fear but fear it's self".
Open those eyes, man. The only threat is within.
