Today seems to be Obama Day as Senators galore line up behind him.

Not only did Barack Obama win Bill Richardson’s convented endorsement last week, but now, Pennsylvania Senator Bob Casey has also endorsed him delivering yet another slap in face of the Clinton Cabal who hopes to sweep the Penn Primary. Hillary Clinton is favored in the PA polls as of today, but the Casey endorsement is expected to disrupt that lead significantly.
The endorsement came at a very opportune time for Barack Obama.

In addition to this latest bit of Clinton-scorching news, Senators Patrick Leahy of Vermont and Chris Dodd of Connecticut delivered relatively un-cloaked statements that Hillary Clinton should drop out of the race….

Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vermont, issued the most unvarnished statement Friday, saying Clinton “has every right, but not a very good reason, to remain a candidate for as long as she wants to.”

Sen. Chris Dodd of Connecticut, who sought the Democratic nomination for president himself but threw his support behind Obama after dropping out of the race in January, expressed a similar sentiment Thursday.

“I mean, if a person wants to stay in the race, stay in the race,” he told the National Journal, a Washington magazine.

“But if you have enough people rallying behind what appears to be the likely choice, and I believe the choice is Barack Obama … then I think you have to step up to the plate and say, ‘Enough is enough.’ We want this to be over with.”

More for Obama, less for Clinton with each passing day.

If she remains in the race that’s fine. It’s her right and she has no chance of winning anyway. Obama will continue to do better and Hillary will continue to fall. It’s what’s being done to the Democratic party in the name of pure selfishness and futility that matters most.

And what’s being done ain’t pretty.

Since so many “Polls” are being used as citation these days, It seems that Hillary’s shortcomings are catching up to her even in states she won on Feb 5th.

California women may be humiliated by her lies and inner ugliness. Or perhaps California Hispanics learned something from Bill Richardson.
Maybe Californians in general have finally wised up.

Regardless, there is a surprisingly clear shift amongst the attitudes of Californians, including those who voted for Hillary in the primary, that may indicate that Barack Obama may be best suited to win California in the November General Election.

On Super Tuesday, Clinton won the Golden State’s primary by a margin of 52-to-43, surprising political experts with her dominance among Latinos, women, and older voters, in particular. Obama seemed to be unable to break through this electoral firewall. But in a new survey of more than 2,000 California voters, released today by the Public Policy Institute of California, an independent research group based in San Francisco, Obama appears to have experienced a significant bump since then. Over a month after voting in the primary, more Democrats here now say they have a positive view of Obama than of Clinton (78 percent to 74 percent)—a shift, experts say, that may be even larger than it appears, since much of Obama’s support in the primary came from independents. Decline-to-state voters, who represent a sizable voting block in California, continue to flock to his campaign (57 percent have a favorable view of Obama, compared with 47 percent for McCain and only 35 percent for Clinton). Overall, more than 6 in 10 voters of all political stripes say they view Obama favorably, compared with 45 percent for Clinton. If the general election were held today, the poll indicates that Obama, not Clinton, would do better here: He polls at 49-to-40 percent over McCain, while Clinton-McCain is a statistical tie (46 percent of voters say they would support Clinton; 43 percent for McCain).

This sounds more like the Liberal Oasis California I know and love.

It was only a matter of time. When one campaigns on the dark side as Hillary Clinton has done, one will eventually consume one’s self with one’s own delusions. Dark Side may be acceptable in Republican circles, but it’s not in Democratic ones.

With the obvious exceptions amongst the Clinton die-never fringe, the Democratic voters are not in denial about Hillary’s character flaws. She has sunk her own ship with lots of help from the DLC, Billy Boy, and the almost cartoonish rabid feminazis we find on the Net.

Today, much in the way George Bush’s approval ratings slipped from around 90% to around 20%, Hillary Clinton’s greed-driven lust for power, her hostile behavior, and of course her “misspeaks” and other blatant lies have not gone unnoticed by Democrats of all stripes. Her supporters included.
She has lied, scratched, clawed, and bitten her way from “inevitable nominee” to the political graveyard.

At a time when Sen. Hillary Clinton is increasingly relying on superdelegates to vault her to the Democratic Party’s nomination, a handful of undecided and pledged superdelegates are coming forward to say her campaign’s tactics in recent weeks are doing more harm than good.

The Democratic Party insiders say they believe Clinton’s direct attacks against Sen. Barack Obama in recent days are hurting the party and its chances in November, and also say it is showing a calculated, desperate-to-win side of Clinton that they dislike.

“In looking at the manner in which the candidates are campaigning, I think it would be best they focused their attention on the presumptive nominee and showed our party which one is better in campaigning against McCain,” said Garry Shay, a California superdelegate, who announced his support for Clinton.

Unlike some in the party, these superdelegates said they do not believe Clinton should drop out of the race. They said they are committed to the democratic process, and want to allow the states still remaining to cast their ballots. But they acknowledged Obama is the likely nominee and suggested the personal attacks were only hurting the party and its viability.

Democratic voters, many of whom are her supporters, are turning away from what they see as a determent to the party and our future. Super Delegates also are acknowledging the obvious.
Democrats are not stupid, and our women are the smartest in the country. They care about the party and about progressive values. They have a sense of duty to make the nation and the world a better place for their children and our future generations. They will do the right thing.
The handful that won’t? Fuck ‘em. We don’t need their fringe votes. We will acquire enough new voters and returning genuine Liberal voters to offset them and then some.

Barack Obama will be our nominee. John McCain and his party are the enemy. Our duty is clear. The sooner we put this circus of a primary behind us the sooner we can get down to the nitty gritty.

BASRA, Iraq, March 25 (Reuters) - Iraqi security forces battled the Mehdi Army militia in Basra on Tuesday in a drive to win control of the southern oil city, but violence and unrest spread to Baghdad and other cities.

Police and health workers said at least 12 people were killed in the fighting in districts of central and northern Basra where Shi’ite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr’s Mehdi Army has a strong presence.

In a statement read out by a senior aide on Tuesday, Sadr called on Iraqis to stage sit-ins all over Iraq and said he would declare a “civil revolt” if attacks by U.S. and Iraqi security forces continued. He also threatened a “third step", but said it was too early to announce what it would be.

Columns of black smoke rose above Basra and explosions and machinegun fire could be heard. Reuters Television pictures showed masked gunmen firing mortars in the street, while others drove around in captured Iraqi army and police vehicles.

The breach of security concerning Barack Obama’s passport records has reached to an Arlington, VA company known as Stanley, Inc.

Two of the government contractors who allegedly took a peek at Sen. Barack Obama’s passport records worked for a Virginia-based firm called Stanley, Inc., according to U.S. government officials with knowledge of the State Department passport controversy.

Stanley, Inc., is headquartered in Arlington, Va. The State Department awarded it a contract for $164 million in 2006. The contract called for Stanley to print and mail millions of new U.S. passports. Stanley announced on Monday that it was awarded an additional $570 million contract to “continue support of the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Consular Affairs/Passport Services Directorate.”

NBC News contacted a Stanley, Inc., spokeswoman this afternoon, and informed her that two sources had confirmed that employees at her firm were involved with the scandal. The spokeswoman would only comment: “We’ve been directed by the State Department to direct all media calls to them.”

Cool, now who is Stanley? This stuff is kinda like Find Waldo, ya know?

Well, Stanley Inc is a fairly big player. Just another sleazy contractor in the tradition of Blackwater, Halliburton, etc.

Looking at Obama’s File Gets Two Fired

The State Department said last night that it had fired two contract employees and disciplined a third for accessing Sen. Barack Obama’s passport file.

Obama’s presidential campaign immediately called for a “complete investigation.”

State Department spokesman Tom Casey said the employees had individually looked into Obama’s passport file on Jan. 9, Feb. 21 and March 14. To access such a file, the employees must first acknowledge a pledge to keep the information private.

The employees were each caught because of a computer-monitoring system that is triggered when the passport accounts of a “high-profile person” are accessed, he said. Recently, as our friends at WhitesCreek brought to our attention, Hillary Clinton was in West Virginia where she was interviewed by Beth Vorhees of West Virginia Public Broadcasting.

Appalachian Voices Front Porch Blog brings us the lowdown on Hillary’s disgracefully ignorant stance on the tragedy of environmentally devastating mountain top removal mining or MTR. In the interview, Clinton shocked even some of her most ardent supporters with her obvious ignorance on the subject and her blatant unwillingness to put environment before business.

While stammering in Bush like fashion when asked questions she’s not prepared for, Hillary wrongly injected “economy” into the issue when the fact is, MTR has cost many jobs in the mining industry as automation replaces miners. Coal mining jobs are at an all time low.

MTR is one of the worst Eco-disasters America is facing particularly in the Southern states.
As the I Love Mountains organization teaches us, MTR poisons our water supplies, kills and displaces wildlife, and scars the beauty of our natural landscape. All for the greed of a handful of people.

Unfortunately, there is little information on the cumulative impacts of mountaintop removal because the federal agencies that are charged with regulating coal mining have refused to track the overall extent and impacts of mountaintop removal. The one attempt at acomprehensive analysis of MTR by government agencies was presented in a multi-agency Environmental Impact Statement that was completed in 2003. This effort was initiated in the late 90s, but the focus of the EIS was revised after the White House changed hands in 2001. According to the Charleston Gazette:

“When it formally kicked off the project in February 1999, the EPA said the goal was “to consider developing agency policies … to minimize, to the maximum extent practicable the adverse environmental effects” of mountaintop removal. By October 2001, then-Deputy Interior Secretary Steven J. Griles, a former mining industry lobbyist, had ordered the project refocused toward “centralizing and streamlining coal mine permitting.”

Cindy Tibbot, a FWS biologist involved in the EIS process, was one of many agency scientists who expressed outrage about Griles’ directive, stating in an internal memo:

“It’s hard to stay quiet about this when I really believe we’re doing the public and the heart of the Clean Water Act a great disservice.”

I am concerned about it for all the reasons people state, but I think its a difficult question because of the conflict between the economic and environmental trade-off that you have here. I’m not an expert. I don’t know enough to have an independent opinion, but I sure would like people who could be objective, understanding both the economic necessities and environmental damage to come up with some approach that would enable us to retrieve the coal but would enable us to do it in a way that wouldn’t damage the living standards and the other important qualities associated with people living both under the mountaintop and people who are along the streams. You know, maybe there is a way to recover those mountaintops once they have been stripped of the coal. You know, I think we’ve got to look at this from a practical perspective.

1) Why doesn’t Hillary Clinton have enough knowledge to even form an opinion? She’s sat on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee.

2) Why doesn’t Hillary know that local economies have been harmed by MTR, not helped?

In 2003, Hillary Clinton voted against the Healthy Forests Restoration Act of 2003. A miserably foolish and environmentally unsound vote.
A few positive votes under party pressure and lots of NVs shows Hillary Clinton to be grotesquely apathetic where environmental issues are concerned. As are virtually all corporate whores.

Also, as a point of reference, Hillary Clinton along with the Spineless Senate body, voted to confirm former and now disgraced Republican EPA Chief Christine Whitman. Whitman resigned from Bushit’s cabinet after being found guilty of endangering 9/11 emergency personnel and New Yorkers at large…

In February 2006, a federal judge found Whitman guilty of making “‘misleading statements of safety’ about the air quality near the World Trade Center in the days after the Sept. 11 attack.” The judge further found that Whitman “may have put the public in danger,” according to the New York Times (Julia Preston, “Public Misled on Air Quality After 9/11 Attack, Judge Says,” February 3, 2006).

“The allegations in this case of Whitman’s reassuring and misleading statements of safety after the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks are without question conscience-shocking,” said Judge Deborah A. Batts. As early as September 13, 2001, the EPA put out press releases declaring “no significant levels” of asbestos dust, when agency officials knew there were significant hazardous emissions. Judge Batts’ ruling allowed a 2004 class action lawsuit against Whitman and other EPA officials and the entire agency, which was filed on behalf of residents and schoolchildren from downtown Manhattan and Brooklyn, to go forward.

Barack Obama however, has made his view clear. I guess we should be happy that at least one of the Democratic contenders has a stance on the issue at all.

The war that was launched in Iraq five years ago has produced one of the largest humanitarian crises of our time. Yet this crisis is largely hidden from the public and ignored by the international community. More than four million Iraqis of different religions, ethnicities and backgrounds are estimated to be uprooted by horrific violence and death and are in dire need of help. About half have fled to Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon and elsewhere in the region.

Because they are not huddled together in a camp or traveling as a group across a windswept plain, these refugees are not receiving the attention and help they deserve from the international community. Much of the reporting about them has been wrong, perpetuating myths that they are wealthy or that the crisis is over and that many are returning to their homes in Iraq. The solutions put forward by major donors have been wholly inadequate. Meanwhile, many of the refugees have been severely traumatized and now lead desperate lives in foreign cities such as Damascus, Amman, Cairo and Beirut.

This report is based on the visit of the International Rescue Committee’s Commission on Iraqi Refugees to Jordan and Syria in February 2008. During our visit, we met with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and other senior officials from the governments of Syria, Jordan, Iraq and the United States. The surging violence in Iraq has created what is becoming the biggest refugee crisis in the world, a humanitarian group said today.

A report (pdf) by Washington-based Refugees International said an influx of Iraqis threatened to overwhelm other Middle Eastern countries, particularly Syria, Jordon and Lebanon.

Last month, the UN estimated that 100,000 people were fleeing the country each month, with the number of Iraqis now living in other Arab countries standing at 1.8 million.

Today’s report came as George Bush and Tony Blair were due to discuss the situation in Iraq, which the bipartisan Iraq Study Group yesterday described as “grave and deteriorating".

Refugees International said the acceleration in the numbers fleeing Iraq meant it could soon overtake the refugee crisis in Darfur.

“We’re not saying it’s the largest [refugee crisis], but it’s quickly becoming the largest,” spokeswoman Kristele Younes said. “The numbers are very, very scary.”

Foundry was the church attended by President Bill Clinton and his wife, now-U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.), when he was in office.

In a pastoral letter to the congregation last November, the Rev. Dean Snyder, senior pastor, announced his plan to begin leading services that “recognize and honor lesbian and gay committed relationships.”

Snyder said that his action reflects “an attempt to be ecclesiastically obedient while at the same time offering pastoral care to our members.”

“Since the practice of homosexuality is incompatible with Christian teaching, self-avowed practicing homosexuals* are not to be accepted as candidates, ordained as ministers or appointed to serve in The United Methodist Church.”

Clinton’s Church Publishes Anti-Israel Books

We have spend lots of time criticizing Senator Obama for not publicly rebuking the Anti-Israel stance of his Church. It would not be fair to make the same demand from the other Democratic candidate, Hillary Clinton. Her Church, the United Methodist Church also has a worrisome track record to those who support Israel.

The United Methodist Church has never been a big fan of Israel. Take for example last July, Rev. Randy R. Day, chief executive of the General Board of Global Ministries for the United Methodist Church, issued a statement that said: “Neither the attacks of Hezbollah on Israel or the Israeli military actions in Gaza and Lebanon can be justified from the perspective of international law or sound political policy.”

I’m not pro-Israel, but many Clinton supporters are.

Question is, is it fair to hold the Clintons accountable for the anti-gay, anti-Israel stance of their church? We say No.

This particular “Special Comment” struck me as being as heart felt as any. Personally, I have a problem with Keith trying to give Hillary an open door to walk out of on the race issue, but he has his feelings and I have to respect them. He is a big fan of the Clintons.

Keith goes off on Geraldine Ferraro like he usually goes off on Bush and Cheney, and well he should. In a blistering indictment of the Republican Lite of the Democratic party Keith explains that Ferraro is a disgusting person and always has been. Her racist commentary goes back decades and is largely the kind of rhetoric that reflects ignorance more than racial pride or political hate.
The Comment is not a condemnation of Hillary Clinton, it’s a call to her from someone who presumably is a friend to denounce strongly the hate speech of Ferraro. Something she has not done.
It’s a well earned condemnation of Hillary’s campaign staff which may be the worst excuse for a supporting cast since Men Without Hats made the Safety Dance video.
Don’t get me wrong. I personally believe that Hillary has lost this race on her own demerit, but Keith’s point still has much validity. She has not stood up and asserted with clarity and conviction that the America of the Democratic Dream is no place for petty judgment of others based on anything other than individual merit.
She is simply not reinforcing the hope for tomorrow.

Keith also mentions something I’ve alluded to in many postings both here and on other blogs, there is a pattern of activity and speech that suggests an arrogant, selfish, holier-than-thou attitude about both Clintons and especially their vile staff. Penn, Billy Boy, Terry Mcauliffe, Ferraro…

Ferraro Remarks on Obama Decried

WASHINGTON (AP) — The first female vice presidential candidate and a fundraiser for Hillary Rodham Clinton suggested Democrat Barack Obama only achieved his status in the presidential campaign because he’s black. The Obama campaign called on Clinton Tuesday to denounce the comments.

“If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position,” Geraldine Ferraro told the Daily Breeze of Torrance, Calif., in an interview published last Friday. “And if he was a woman (of any color) he would not be in this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is. And the country is caught up in the concept.”

Ferraro is a former New York congresswoman and was former Vice President Walter Mondale’s running mate when he was the Democratic presidential nominee in 1984. She has endorsed Clinton and has been a fundraiser for her campaign.

Obama senior adviser David Axelrod said Ferraro should be removed from her position with the Clinton campaign because of her comments.

“The bottom-line is this, when you wink and nod at offensive statements, you’re really sending a signal to your supporters that anything goes,” Axelrod said in a conference call with reporters on Tuesday.

“There’s no other way to send a serious signal that you want to police the tone of this campaign,” he added. “And if you don’t do those things then you are simply adding to the growing compendium of evidence that you really are encouraging that.”

Ferraro also said Obama has it easy because of a “very sexist media.”

It’s too bad. None of the Clinton Campaign Pigs that have slandered Barack Obama have stepped down from anything. Even though they’ve lied through their teeth and Ms. Power simply stated what most of us already know. That Hillary Clinton is a “Monster".

Clinton has vigorously supported the carnage that is the Iraq war, couldn’t be bothered to show up and vote to protect personal privacy, has been extremely vicious and personally berating to people around her, and may have physically abused Bill.
Hillary Clinton, as we all have seen very recently (her hypocrisy on NAFTA), can sit right in front of voters, news people and the world and lie, through her teeth, with a smile on her face.

Much of what a “monster” is made of. Is Karl Rove a monster? Of course he is. And all like him should share the label.

We’re sorry to see a capable person like Ms. Power step down for no other reason than speaking truth to hypocrisy.

Report Questions Clinton NAFTA Position

TORONTO (AP) — Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s chief of staff said someone in Hillary Rodham Clinton’s campaign gave Canada back-channel assurances that her harsh words about the North American Free Trade Agreement were for political show, according to a report by the Canadian Press.

The report comes just days after a Canadian government memo stated Barack Obama’s senior economic adviser told Canadian officials that the Illinois senator’s own comments about NAFTA were for “political positioning.” The release of that memo helped Clinton defeat Obama decisively in Tuesday’s Democratic primary in Ohio, where the trade treaty is unpopular.

We’re losing ground to the GOP just because of the Clinton thirst for power, as the party clearly will not unite behind Hillary. The 28 to 13 contest lead that Barack Obama has is fairly solid proof of that.
The fact that the “inevitable nominee” has been campaigning for a year now, against a guy most Americans had never even heard of until he jumped in the race, and finds herself mathematically out of it even after Texas and Ohio, paints a pretty clear picture.

Meanwhile, as we bicker on for no other reason than the Right-Center of the Democratic Party’s unwillingness to open their eyes and the insistence of the groupies, the mal-informed, (and a little outside help form Rush Limbaugh’s fans), John McCain has escaped some potentially damaging scandals and continues to grab headlines and get buried in money and support from the Right.

We have arrived at the point that Hillary’s persistence, though impressive (if not psychotic), is really doing damage to what little chance we have left to try and gain the White House.
Honestly, Obama has little chance of winning in November to begin with barring some fatal error by McCockroach. Hillary has no chance whatsoever of winning in November. McCain could get caught in bed with Monica and Bill and still beat Hillary in the general.

The sooner we get this circus of a Primary over with, the sooner we can concentrate one the real enemy.

Today, not only did the great state of Vermont support the Liberal candidate in the Democratic Primary, but they also managed to vote in a resolution that declares George Bush and Dick Cheney guilty of crimes against the Constitution.

This is wonderful in at least two ways:

1) It’s true. Those two traitors have committed countless crimes against the law of the land and treason as well.

2) This may be the most humiliating experience either stooge has been forced to endure at the hands of the Left. And they, of course, deserve much worse.

Now, this is obviously symbolic but it’s just as official. If either traitor enters any of the communities involved, they can be legally arrested.
Just the thought makes me, well….Aroused.

Great job today, Vermont. You have proven to be the class of the Liberal structure in America.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Voters in two Vermont towns on Tuesday approved a measure that would instruct police to arrest President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney for “crimes against our Constitution,” local media reported.

The nonbinding, symbolic measure, passed in Brattleboro and Marlboro in a state known for taking liberal positions on national issues, instructs town police to “extradite them to other authorities that may reasonably contend to prosecute them.”

Vermont, home to maple syrup and picture-postcard views, is known for its liberal politics.

State lawmakers have passed nonbinding resolutions to end the war in Iraq and impeach Bush and Cheney, and several towns have also passed resolutions of impeachment. None of them have caught on in Washington.

Bush has never visited the state as president, though he has spent vacations at his family compound in nearby Maine.

Roughly 12,000 people live in Brattleboro, located on the Connecticut River in the state’s southeastern corner. Nearby Marlboro has a population of roughly 1,000.

This is just rough analysis, but it’s looking like Clinton will be lucky to pull more than a twelve pledged delegate advantage from all four states. And with Wyoming on Saturday, and Mississippi the following Tuesday (Obama is heavily favored in those two states), Hillary could see any delegational gains she might achieve tonight wiped out as early as next week.

And thus closure has come. Deposing Saddam Hussein succeeded in nothing other than to hand Iraq, arguably the freest Muslim nation on earth under his rule, over to Iran and the Fundamentalist Shiite majority.

Damn, it’s a good thing Bush was lying about invading Iraq to “create Democracy” and “fight Islamic Terrorism". He’d be looking like a real snapperhead now that Islamic Fundamentalism is the future of Iraq if it were all true.

Now this is where it stands:

Any fool, well, all but a few of them obviously, could see that if Saddam’s secular dictatorship was toppled that Iran and the Shiite legions would take over since Saddam was the only thing keeping them down.
Bush, and all those that supported, rubber stamped, and devised his agenda have failed America and Iraq both in the most miserable of fashions. Nearly 4000 of our troops dead, scores upon scores of Iraqis dead, new generations of Islamic extremism empowered, and Israel’s people now have Iran on their doorstep where they used to enjoy a massive secular buffer.

And there sit our men and women in uniform and the average Iraqi. Used, abused, neglected, maimed, killed, and ignored by both the White House and all too many members of Congress (both parties).

Just to give it all to the “Axis of Evil".
