If Tim Kaine has one hair on his ass, which I doubt, he will find and fund genuinely Democratic candidates to run against these agents of perdition.

As Tennesseans it is our responsibility to deal with Cooper and his ilk. There are enough good people in Cooper’s district (TN-4) to vote him out. We need a highly motivated effort (hopefully DNC, but don’t hold your breath) in the fourth district to give the people there more choices for representation.

We simply cannot tolerate this any longer. If we’re going to be stabbed in the back, I want it be from a Republican so it makes some sense.
Cooper is unworthy and now, unneeded. The next election cycle will be an opportune time for a change.

As for the Obama stimulus package, it’s pro-active and will provide a tremendous relief in many situations. That’s why Republicans opposed it, it will help ordinary people like you and me.
So, Obama tried his “bipartisan, pragmatic” thing and as I have always said, Republicans will never do what’s right for this country and our people. Never.
Time to leave them out of the equation altogether. We cannot allow Republican obstructionism to ruin the already Bush-Damaged future of this nation.

A tragic story, today, turned even more tragic. Life long member of the greatest Southern Rock band, the legendary Billy Powell, has passed away apparently due to complications with his heart.

Billy Powell was one of the survivors of the 1977 plane crash that took the lives of Lynyrd Skynyrd members Ronnie VanZant, Steve and Cassie Gains, assistant road manager Dean Kilpatrick, pilot Walter McCreary and co-pilot William Gray. The other band members were severely injured.
Though the recent incarnation of the band pales in comparison to the pre 1977 group, Gary Rossington and Billy Powell kept the ledgend alive even to this day.
Rossington now being the only survivor still playing in the band.

The columnists were sometimes among Obama’s harshest critics on the campaign trial and the meal seems likely an effort to get off on the right foot with potentially influential critics as Obama prepares to take office next week.

Obama spokesman Tommy Vietor, spotted at the dinner party by a pool reporter, refused to confirm details, telling Politico the dinner was off-the-record.

In a pool report filed from outside Will’s home, Kenneth R. Bazinet of the New York Daily News wrote “This is for real, folks. The bloggers are going to love this one.”

In a bold and unusually courageous little move, Williams and the Democratic members of the TN House pulled what is, for all intents and purposes, a coup.
Williams voted for himself along with all of the Democrats. Effectively sending the Right-Wing extremist, Mumpower to the showers.
This brilliant move could be a factor in limiting Right-Wing power in Nashville as Williams will now need to repay those Dems that voted for him by assigning committee chairs who are not Right-Wing freaks.

As one might have guessed, the world’s major humanitarian agencies are calling for a United Nations investigation of Israel for war crimes.

This is an open and shut case. The only question is, will the US and Europe veto justice once again?

It’s no secret. The evidence is there for all to see. Israel made no attempt to hide their crimes until they realized that world public opinion was very much against them. They simply targeted and slaughtered scores of civilians as bold and as plain as you please and were arrogant and brazen enough to think it was okay.

Once Israel realized that the world was not going to accept their crimes, only then did they begin to shut out the media and attempt to hide the carnage.
Rest assured, much like Iraq, we have not yet seen the entire face of the slaughter in Gaza.

Chances of getting Israel sanctioned are slim at best, but they are clearly and irrefutably deserving of every possible punishment.

Israel is facing growing demands from senior UN officials and human rights groups for an international war crimes investigation in Gaza over allegations such as the “reckless and indiscriminate” shelling of residential areas and use of Palestinian families as human shields by soldiers.

With the death toll from the 17-day Israeli assault on Gaza climbing above 900, pressure is increasing for an independent inquiry into specific incidents, such as the shelling of a UN school turned refugee centre where about 40 people died, as well as the question of whether the military tactics used by Israel systematically breached humanitarian law.

The UN’s senior human rights body approved a resolution yesterday condemning the Israeli offensive for “massive violations of human rights". A senior UN source said the body’s humanitarian agencies were compiling evidence of war crimes and passing it on to the “highest levels” to be used as seen fit.

Some human rights activists allege that the Israeli leadership gave an order to keep military casualties low no matter what cost to civilians. That strategy has directly contributed to one of the bloodiest Israeli assaults on the Palestinian territories, they say.

John Ging, head of the UN Palestinian refugee agency in Gaza, said: “It’s about accountability [over] the issue of the appropriateness of the force used, the proportionality of the force used and the whole issue of duty of care of civilians.

“We don’t want to join any chorus of passing judgment but there should be an investigation of any and every incident where there are concerns there might have been violations in international law.”

The Israeli military are accused of:

• Using powerful shells in civilian areas which the army knew would cause large numbers of innocent casualties;

• Using banned weapons such as phosphorus bombs;

• Holding Palestinian families as human shields;

• Attacking medical facilities, including the killing of 12 ambulance men in marked vehicles;

• Killing large numbers of police who had no military role.

Israeli military actions prompted an unusual public rebuke from the International Red Cross after the army moved a Palestinian family into a building and shelled it, killing 30. The surviving children clung to the bodies of their dead mothers for four days while the army blocked rescuers from reaching the wounded.

Human Rights Watch has called on the UN security council to set up a commission of inquiry into alleged war crimes.

Two leading Israeli human rights organizations have separately written to the country’s attorney general demanding he investigate the allegations.

But critics remain skeptical that any such inquiry will take place, given that Israel has previously blocked similar attempts with the backing of the US.

Amnesty International says hitting residential streets with shells that send blast and shrapnel over a wide area constitutes “prima facie evidence of war crimes".

Noting that Israel was bent on halting Hamas rocket fire into its southern towns, Reid said: “I ask any of my colleagues to imagine that happening here in the United States. Rockets and mortars coming from Toronto in Canada, into Buffalo New York. How would we as a country react?”

JERUSALEM: International aid groups lashed out at Israel on Thursday over the war in Gaza, saying that access to civilians in need is poor, relief workers are being hurt and killed, and Israel is woefully neglecting its obligations to Palestinians who are trapped, some among rotting corpses in a nightmarish landscape of deprivation.

The United Nations declared a suspension of its aid operations after one of its drivers was killed and two others were wounded despite driving United Nations-flagged vehicles and coordinating their movements with the Israeli military. The United Nations secretary general, Ban Ki-moon, called for an investigation by Israel for a second time in a week after the more than 40 deaths near a United Nations school from Israeli tank fire on Tuesday.

The UN’s only mission is to help feed, clothe and distribute medicine to the victims of this holocaust. And Israel even attacks them knowingly and willingly.

The International Committee of the Red Cross reported finding what it called shocking scenes on Wednesday, including four emaciated children next to the bodies of their dead mothers. In a rare and sharply critical statement, it said it believed that “the Israeli military failed to meet its obligation under international humanitarian law to care for and evacuate the wounded.”

Now, Israel has no more lies to tell that will be accepted by any decent human being. The targeting of a school that was being used as a UN relief station has succeeded in costing over 40 innocent people, 10 of them children, their lives. There were no rockets being launched from the UN controlled school…

JABALIYA, Gaza — The bodies of the children who died outside the United Nations school here were laid out in a long row on the ground. Some were wrapped in the vivid green flag of Hamas, some were in white shrouds and some were in the yellow flag of Fatah, which is rarely seen these days in Hamas-run Gaza.

Hundreds of Gazans crowded around, staring at the little faces, some of them with dark eyes still open, but dulled.

Abdel Minaim Hasan, 37, kneeled, weeping, next to the body of his eldest daughter, Lina, 11, who was wrapped in a Hamas flag. “From now on I am Hamas!” he cried. “I choose resistance!” But then he cursed other Arab nations for ignoring the plight of the Gazans. “The Arabs are doing nothing to protect us!” he shouted.

The streets were crowded Tuesday evening when the mortars struck, Mr. Hasan said. “We were in a United Nations school, we were so far from the tanks.” There were many children around, and he gave Lina a shekel to run to a nearby grocery store. She was hit by shrapnel and died.

Some 280 families — 1,674 people — had been sheltering inside the school, Al Fakhura, according to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, which helps Palestinian refugees and their descendants and which runs the school. Most came from farther north in Gaza, near Beit Lahiya, where the fighting has been intense, an hour’s walk away. They were ordered to evacuate for their safety by Israeli forces, who used leaflets and loudspeakers to get them to leave their homes.

Mr. Ging spoke at the school during a three-hour lull in the fighting on Wednesday. The lull, which Israel’s Foreign Ministry announced would take place every other day, is to allow humanitarian organizations to deliver supplies and Gazans to emerge from their houses and shelters to shop.

Allow Gazans to eat a little before killing their children. How kind. Fatted calf, anyone?

There is also the unsurprising revelation that Israel is indeed using ol’ Wilson Pickett, aka White Phosphorous on the civilian population of Gaza. One of the most highly concentrated populations on the planet, Gaza is highly susceptible to such chemical warfare…

Moving with all the caution and care of SS Officers, Ehud Barak (Labour), Tzipi Livni (Ruling Kadima) and the terrorist mastermind Benjemin Nethanyu (Likud) have managed to create a catastrophic disaster in which many hundreds of innocent Palestinians have died or are dying.

This is the standard “way of deception” that the unholy prides it’s self on. Just listen to the bold-faced lying of Tzipi Livni, Zionist foreign minister, as she states “there is no humanitarian crises in Gaza”.

JERUSALEM: Inhabitants in the Gaza Strip are facing a serious health and food crisis seven days into an Israeli bombing campaign, despite an increase in humanitarian shipments, U.N. officials said on Friday.

The U.N. also estimates that at least 100 civilians — many of them women and children — were among the 400 people killed so far by airstrikes, said Maxwell Gaylard, U.N. humanitarian coordinator for the Palestinians Territories. He said 2,000 people have been wounded.

“There is a critical emergency right now in the Gaza Strip right now as we speak,” said Gaylard. “It is true supplies have been going into the strip, in fact possibly more than in previous weeks, but at the same time there are critical gaps.”

He explained that crucial wheat grain for bread was not being shipped into the area in sufficient quantities and there was not enough industrial fuel oil to run the power plant.

Power outages are lasting 16 hours at a time and running water is only available every five to seven days, according to the U.N.

The Israeli disinformation campaign is in full swing. Many of the lies include:

1) “It’s self defense". As parroted by Neocon and Zionist Pig, Alan Dershowitz.
“Israel’s Policy Is Perfectly Proportionate” squeals Dershowitz.

Really? Let’s examine that.

In reference to rockets allegedly fired by Hamas, Doucheowitz invokes the Israeli town of Sderot. A small town on the border of Gaza that has been struck by rocket fire for eight years running now. The most interesting thing about this? The “massive” death toll in Sderot from these rockets over the last eight years amounts to 13. Yep, thirteen. Only in the eyes of a Nazi would hundreds be a just revenge for thirteen.
And why wait ’til now to do something about it? Perhaps some of those “rockets” come from a source other than Hamas. Israel well knows the strategy of False Flag Ops. A favorite tactic of Adolph Hitler and other world leaders given to deception and the lust for war.

2) “Israel has a God given right to Semitic land". No, they don’t.

Upon the meeting of President George W. Bush and “Israeli” Prime Minister Sharon on April 14, at the White House, Washington DC, Orthodox Jews will be demonstrating in front of the White House, to proclaim and clearly state that: Sharon and the State of “Israel” are illegitimate and they do not represent the Jewish people.

3) “Israel is a Democracy".
Nope. People vote in Iran and Palestine too. Knesset, Israel’s legislative branch of gubberment, can dissolve the gov’t at any time. Basically a Mob-Rule Dictatorship where a vote only counts when they allow it to. Israel, like the US, is no stranger to vote fraud either.

4) “Israel is our friend".
Absolute bullshit. “Friends” don’t do things like spy on us and attack our people as they did in 1967 when Israeli fighters and torpedo boats knowingly and willingly attacked the USS Liberty. 34 American sailors died being fired upon by “friends".

From the PNAC and the War for Israel in Iraq, to the wholesale slaughter of the innocent in Lebanon and now Palestine, Israel and it’s Zionist element is clearly and unequivocally an aggressor without conscience or morality.
Even to the point of being condescending enough to claim “victim” status. The fact is that the poor and oppressed of Palestine are the only victims. Israel simply employees the “blame the victim” mentality. Much the same way women have been treated in Israel after being raped.

The only thing more disgusting to us than Israel’s lies is the fact that our Government supports the mayhem and murder that Israel is so obviously guilty of.

The world has spoken. There is no argument on Israel’s behalf. Israel will heed the will of the Earth’s people or suffer the consequences of their actions.
