Once again we have tragedy. Once again the American Taliban perpetrate an act of terror upon the American people.
You know, we’re not kidding here, folks.
Sure, we use certain amounts of humor and hyperbole to add emphasis to issues that need attention. But there’s no lying here. Those of you who understand the way we write know full well that beneath the sarcasm and vitriol we are right, the vast majority of the time and that we write nothing without reason.
Once again, listen and heed….
“Once again” because we have warned of it before.
Right Wing Terrorism is real. It is not a captainkona paint job on the Right in general.
This is real, and Liberal churches are the most accessible targets.
Right Wing Terrorism struck America again today in Kansas as Dr. George Tiller, an abortion doctor, was gunned down in Church by a Right Wing zealot….
From Reuters:
By Carey Gillam
KANSAS CITY, Missouri (Reuters) - A Kansas doctor reviled by anti-abortion groups for his work providing “late-term” abortions was shot and killed in his Wichita, Kansas, church on Sunday, and police said they captured the man responsible.
Police said they planned to charge a 51-year-old man on Monday with homicide and two counts of aggravated assault in the death of 67-year-old George Tiller, who died from a single gunshot.
Tiller was shot while serving as an usher for Sunday services in the foyer at Reformation Lutheran Church. The shooter threatened two other men at the church who tried to intervene, police said.
“We feel that this is an act of an isolated individual, however our investigation continues,” said Wichita deputy police chief Tom Stolz.
Stolz said they were investigating whether the shooter had any ties to anti-abortion groups.
President Barack Obama expressed shock and outrage, saying in a statement, “However profound our differences as Americans over difficult issues such as abortion, they cannot be resolved by heinous acts of violence.”
U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder said federal law enforcement officials would work with local authorities in investigating the crime. He directed federal agents “to offer protection to other appropriate people and facilities around the nation.”
The killing comes as the Obama administration is seeking confirmation to the U.S. Supreme Court of Sonia Sotomayor, whom many anti-abortion groups have vowed to oppose for her perceived support of the landmark Roe vs. Wade ruling that legalized abortion in the United States.
“For the movement, it could not come at a worse time,” the Rev. Patrick Mahoney, director of the Christian Defense Coalition, which lobbies against abortion, said of the killing.
“If they make it seem that people who embrace the pro-life movement are kind of this extremist violent group, that could diminish some of the passion and energy on confronting Sotomayor.”
No one here at TN420 condones abortion. But the life of the mother takes precedence and if we have to choose between the Dr. who makes sure these procedures are done in a safe fashion, and the Taliban fuck who thinks he can dictate to another concerning their medical decisions, we’ll take the Abortion Dr’s side every time.
From Eric Rudolph to Jim Adkisson to this latest Religofascist waste of air there is a long history of Conservative Terrorism in America and it’s getting worse. The Bush Regime and the vile, Satanic mindset into which it indoctrinated it’s supporters have created an era of division and hatred in America that will never be overcome.
The Right Wing is Terrorism. They have proven that assertion in the past, they prove it today and they will prove it again in the future.
“This will happen again".
Beware, Americans. Especially non-Conservative church goers. We are the target and the threat is right here at home.
It does not wear a rag on it’s head, it is not black or brown or white. It want’s you to die because you won’t obey.
There is no other motivation.
UPDATE:
The terrorist’s name is Scott Roeder, 51, of Merriam, Kan.
LINK
UPDATE 2:
Our fellow, Victor, has submitted even more info on the American Taliban Terrorist, Scott Roeder…
Thanx, vic! Well done as always.
http://sodahead.com offered a tad bit more of background information about Roeder than I’ve discovered, so far, from other sites:
“The suspect in custody for the slaying of Wichita abortion doctor George Tiller was a member of an anti-government group in the 1990s and a staunch opponent of abortion.
Scott P. Roeder, 51, of Merriam, Kan., a Kansas City suburb, was arrested on Interstate 35 near Gardner in suburban Johnson County, Kan., about three hours after the shooting. Tiller was shot to death around 10 a.m. inside Reformation Lutheran Church in Wichita.
In the rear window of the 1993 blue Ford Taurus that he was driving was a red rose, a symbol often used by abortion opponents. On the rear of his car was a Christian fish symbol with the word “Jesus” inside.
Those who know Roeder said he believed that killing abortion doctors was an act of justifiable homicide.
“I know that he believed in justifiable homicide,” said Regina Dinwiddie, a Kansas City anti-abortion activist who made headlines in 1995 when she was ordered by a federal judge to stop using a bullhorn within 500 feet of any abortion clinic. “I know he very strongly believed that abortion was murder and that you ought to defend the little ones, both born and unborn.”
Dinwiddie said she met Roeder while picketing outside the Kansas City Planned Parenthood clinic in 1996. Roeder walked into the clinic and asked to see the doctor, Robert Crist, she said.
“Robert Crist came out and he stared at him for approximately 45 seconds,” she said. “Then he (Roeder) said, ‘I’ve seen you now.’ Then he turned his back and walked away, and they were scared to death. On the way out, he gave me a great big hug and he said, ‘I’ve seen you in the newspaper. I just love what you’re doing.’^”
Roeder also was a subscriber to Prayer and Action News, a magazine that advocated the justifiable homicide position, said publisher Dave Leach, an anti-abortion activist from Des Moines, Iowa.
“I met him once, and he wrote to me a few times,” Leach said. “I remember that he was sympathetic to our cause, but I don’t remember any details.”
Leach said he met Roeder in Topeka when he went there to visit Shelley Shannon, who was in prison for the 1993 shooting of Tiller.
“He told me about a lot of conspiracy stuff and showed me how to take the magnetic strip out of a five-dollar bill,” Leach said. “He said it was to keep the government from tracking your money.”
Roeder, who in the 1990s was a manufacturing assemblyman, also was involved in the “Freemen” movement.
“Freemen” was a term adopted by those who claimed sovereignty from government jurisdiction and operated under their own legal system, which they called common-law courts. Adherents declared themselves exempt from laws, regulations and taxes and often filed liens against judges, prosecutors and others, claiming that money was owed to them as compensation.
In April 1996, Roeder was arrested in Topeka after Shawnee County sheriff’s deputies stopped him for not having a proper license plate. In his car, officers said they found ammunition, a blasting cap, a fuse cord, a one-pound can of gunpowder and two 9-volt batteries, with one connected to a switch that could have been used to trigger a bomb.
Jim Jimerson, supervisor of the Kansas City ATF’s bomb and arson unit, worked on the case.
The post said: “Bless everyone for attending and praying in May to bring justice to Tiller and the closing of his death camp. Sometime soon, would it be feasible to organize as many people as possible to attend Tillers church (inside, not just outside) to have much more of a presence and possibly ask questions of the Pastor, Deacons, Elders and members while there? Doesn’t seem like it would hurt anything but bring more attention to Tiller.”
“There wasn’t enough there to blow up a building,'’ Jimerson said at the time, “but it could make several powerful pipe bombs…There was definitely enough there to kill somebody.'’
Roeder, who then lived in Silver Lake, Kan., was stopped because he had an improper license plate that read “Sovereign private property. Immunity declared by law. Non-commercial American.'’ Authorities said the plate was typical of those used by Freemen.
Roeder was arraigned on one count of criminal use of explosives and misdemeanor charges of driving on a suspended license, failure to carry a Kansas registration and failure to carry liability insurance.
He was found guilty and sentenced in June 1996 to 24 months of probation with intensive supervision and ordered to dissociate himself from anti-government groups that advocated violence.
But in December 1997, his probation ended six months early when the Kansas Court of Appeals overturned his conviction. The court held that evidence against Roeder was seized by authorities during an illegal search of his car.
Morris Wilson, commander of the Kansas Unorganized Citizens Militia in the mid-1990s, said he knew Roeder fairly well.
“I’d say he’s a good ol’ boy except he was just so fanatic about abortion,” said Wilson, who now lives in western Nebraska. “He was always talking about how awful abortion was. But there’s a lot of people who think abortion is awful.”
Suzanne James, former director of victim’s services for Shawnee County, said she remembered Roeder.
“He was part of the One Supreme Court, a Freemen group based out of Shawnee County,” James said. “He was fanatic about a lot of things. I went to one of his court appearances and thought, ‘This guy is dangerous.’ There were a lot of red flags that came up about him.”
In recent years, someone using the name Scott Roeder has posted anti-Tiller comments on various Internet sites. One post, dated Sept. 3, 2007 and placed on a site sponsored by Operation Rescue called chargetiller.com, said that Tiller needed to be “stopped.”
“It seems as though what is happening in Kansas could be compared to the ‘lawlessness’ which is spoken of in the Bible,” it said. “Tiller is the concentration camp ‘Mengele’ of our day and needs to be stopped before he and those who protect him bring judgment upon our nation.”
On May 19, 2007, a Scott Roeder commented on an invitation by Operation Rescue to join an event being held May 17-20 in Wichita, “the ‘Nation’s Abortion Capital,’ to pray for an end to George R. Tiller’s late-term abortion business and for all pre-born babies everywhere to once again come under the protection of law.”
Comments, Pingbacks:
Another typical piece of murderous trash, an obscenely obese bigot named Keith Luke, recently slaughtered two black immigrants in Massachusetts and tried to kill a third. Luke, after he was arrested, told the police that his plan was to "kill as many non-whites as possible and then burst into the weekly bingo night of a local (Jewish) Orthodos synagogue with guns blazing". His defense is blaming hate sites on the internet and the people who operate them - sites like 'pod blanc' and the more established 'storm front' - associations which happen to share some philosophies with the 'Council of Conservative Citizens', a white supremicist hate group that describes some races as "genetically inferior" and opposes "racial intermarriage" and "non-white immigration". This organization is alive and well in Tennessee with one local 'chapter' in Kingsport. Also, significantly, the sheriff of Davidson County, Daron Hall, recently was a guest speaker for the middle Tennessee 'chapter' of the "CCC". In Tennessee some people don't care who observes that they're bigots because they receive support from certain republican & empathetic blue-dog democratic circles of politicians.
Now back in 1994, around 800,000 people in Africa were slaughtered. The people who were killed identified themselves as belonging to either a 'society' commonly known as "Tutsis" or were moderate (i.e. tolerant) members of another society called "Hutus". Fanatical right wing "Hutus", although they spoke the same language, inhabited the same areas and followed the same traditions as the "Tutsis", hated their 'other' countrymen because traditionally the "Tutsis" were generally more educated and had exercised relatively more influence and power in the past. This is an essential simplification (but nevertheless truthful) of course.
Radio stations and other media in Rwanda, prior to the orchestrated slaughter, aired similar lies, ridiculous distortions, delusions based on perversions of superstitious thought and neo-fascist propaganda in order to further the agendas of murderous fanatics who wanted to incite the ignorant to carry out their goals. The broadcasting propagandists in Rwanda were just as guilty of murder as were the mobs who were too stupid to question the accuracy & validity of whatever they heard (much like many listeners of fox news and simlar sources of fanatic propaganda today in America, huh?). Accordingly, the propagandists in Rwanda received the consequences for their actions as they should have.
The propagandists who incite the gullible to hatred and sometimes murder ALWAYS warrant the exact same consequences as a criminal, who is incited, receives. 'Freedom of Speech' is an American 'right', but inciting to riot and to murder is not a 'right'. I can morally & legally say that I believe somebody to be stupid, but I cannot morally & legally persuade someone else to murder somebody I believe is stupid. Various associations of other bigots have already been put out of commission across America by having their assets confiscated through appropriate courts of law during the last several years. This is history. Now, other groups of fanatics like 'operation rescue' who actively supported Dr. Tiller's murderer - and who continue to support him as well as other murderers in prison now in other States - have adequately demonstrated that they are just another terrorist organization. When all assets and property of the inciters-to-murder are confiscated, and when they receive the exact same consequences as any criminals who are 'incited', the number of fanatics will decrease. Personally, I would like to see the option of deportment utilized for such types to areas with predominatly other taliban groups or people (incarceration can be expensive), but that is too idealistic I imagine.
America needs to solve the terrorist problem effectively. Laws exist now to deal with terrorists to some degree. If additional laws are needed, then conscientious American politicans will enact those laws. And then ALL of the guilty will be punished appropriately.
It's only a matter of time.
