:)>

Just a quick note….

Today the Democrats of Virginia chose a strong candidate to represent them as they seek the Governorship for the third straight time.
State Sen. Creigh Deeds easily defeated his wannabe challenger, Terry McAuliffe.

This is good in more than one way.

1) Deeds is a Warner, Kaine type of Democrat. Too conservative to be great but just enough to win a good portion of the moron vote. Deeds has a great chance of defeating the Right Wing Nut challenger, Bob McDonnell.
Bob McDonnell is a Bush Republican and therefor will never accomplish anything good.

2) Terry McAuliffe is a Clintonista, Blue Dog pile of pig vomit. Those don’t make very good leaders.
McAuliffe has his head buried so far up Bill Clinton’s ass all you can see of him is the soles of his shoes.
McAuliffe destroyed the DNC for many years and was a big part of empowering the Republican majority of the turn of the Century that caused the economic disaster we’re just now pulling out of.
It is also my belief that McAuliffe deliberately sabotaged John Kerry’s ‘04 run in order to run Hillary in 2008. They did exactly that.
Thank God she lost.

That’s the DNC, Hillary’s campaign and the VA Goobernatorial.

Strike three, Terry. Fuck off.

3) Message to the Blue Dogshits, sit down and shut the fuck up.

Well done, VA Dems.
I am very proud.

Now rally around Deeds, in spite of his flaws, and bury the Repigs even deeper in the clay. Turn out to vote bigger and better than you did in ‘08.
There’s a big slice of Obama Pie waiting for you and Deeds will bring it home.

:) Perhaps they can send someone to TN, since Harold Ford, Jr. isn't running for Governor.

Heh, :)

We still have plenty of time. The choices will get better. So far we have:

Candidates

Independents

Confirmed

* Carl Whitaker, Native American Indian Movement Chief
* James Reesor, Tennessee Author

Democratic Party

Confirmed

* Kim McMillan, former State House Majority Leader and former Senior Advisor to Governor Phil Bredesen
* Roy Herron, State Senator
* Ward Cammack, Businessman
* Mike McWherter, buisinessman, former Attorney, Son of Gov. Ned McWherter

Potential

* Jim Kyle, State Senate Minority Leader

Still waiting for a soundly Democratic/Liberal candidate. Maybe we'll get lucky and find out that the TNDP was smart enough to have talked Al Gore into running.
;)

If it stops where it is now, McWherter would be my choice in the primary.

I went to Ward Cammack's site and asked him who he voted for in the 2004 Presidential elections. He never would answer at the TNDP website. I doubt he will answer at all, but I hope he does.
I've found out a few things about Mr.Cammack recently that I've yet to disclose.
We shall see....

As far as Cam-MACK goes, so far I have been totally unimpressed. His so-called web site is effectively a sham. Your question is by far not the only one which he has deliberately ignored.

If you get on his 'mailing list', all you receive are solicitations for campaign contributions and not a single genuine reason for contributing to his campaign.

Cam-MACK is a false 'convert', and a progressive person would be better off assisting a 'genuine' candidate.

So, I can't help but wonder if his 'diversionary' campaign is deliberate and orchestrated in order to reduce any impact a sincere candidate might have.

There is something wrong with Cammack's lyrics. I'm glad you see that, vic. I knew you of all people would.

That's why I've been on Cammack from jump. Socio-political ideology is not something one can just shed like a snake sheds it's skin.
Cammack's history is NeoCon, his money comes from NeoCons.
I'm happy to say I started this shit. I jumped on Mark Brown (Cammack's on-line mouthpiece at TNDP) about deleting my posts that asked hard questions about Cammack.
Three days later Brown informs us that Cammack has a site and he'll answer questions.

I said "I'll believe it when I see it". Tested it, you tested it....I invite others to do so too.
He's doing what I said he'd do. Hiding behind the site.

LINK

We saw what happened in Albany. Some childish, desperate "coup" attempt by Republicans to take the state senate. Total fiasco that will probably be reversed.
Point is, the Right is doing everything they can to find power without getting actual votes.
And that's where I become suspicious of Cammack or anyone with his history.
TN Repigs are still sore from the Williams thing and will attempt to pull some Tom Delay type shit if the opportunity presents it's self.

I just asked again, at his site. "Who did you vote for in the 2004 Presidential election"?

I have caught Cammack in at least two major lies and several inconsistencies from studying video and many of his words. I just want the above question answered so I can tie it all together before I allege it in public.

He's either going to have to come clean or be exposed.

Regarding the so-called 'coup' in New York - the two democrats who voted (along with the republicans) on a 'motion to reorganize' the State Senate, Hiram Monserrante of Queens and Pedro Espada of the Bronx, effectively returned control of New York State to the republicans. For his 'assistance', Espada was 'annointed' Senate President and became 2nd in command (after Governor David Paterson).

Democrats are all upset and are fuming. National Public Radio has reported that Steve Kornacki (PolitickerNY) subsequently said:

"Don't expect them (democrats), though, to remind you how gleeful they were when democrats in the Tennessee State legislature engineered a nearly identical coup earlier this year (or when Willie Brown pulled off a similar deal in the California Senate 14 years ago). Their protests will be as futile as the republicans' were in those two states, the G.O.P., barring some change of heart by Espada and Monserrate, will now have full, legal control over the New York State Senate."

A CRUCIAL difference between the Tennessee situation and the New York situation is the fact that Kent Williams has considerable support among his constituency. Neither Monserrante nor Espada, reportedly, has the same support, and they will expectedly lose when they go up for re-election.

Too, (now this is really wild) Carl Campanile, writing for the New York Post, reports that Monserrate:

"was indicted for allegedly slashing his girlfriend in the face with a broken glass... (He) was charged with six counts of assaulting his girlfriend, Karla Giraldo. She needed twenty stitches over her left eye. Security cameras in his apartment complex show Monserrate dragging her out of the building on Dec. 19. The same cameras show her desperately banging on a neighbor's door seeking help during the incident, just a month after his election to the (New York State) Senate. The lawmaker pleaded not guilty and insisted the blows to his girlfriend were an accident. He is awaiting trial."

And Campanile also reports that Espada:

"has been implicated in state-funding shenanigans involving his nonprofit health-care company... Three workers at a firm he runs, the Soundview Health Care Network, pleaded guilty in 2005 to diverting $30,000 from programs for family care and AIDS treatment to his political campaign. Earlier, Espada was caught red-handed attempting to steer $745,000 in grants to his outfit. In 1998, Espada was accused of attempting to direct $260,000 in Medicaid funds from his firm to his political campaign. He was acquitted of the charges."

BUT, other websites report he is under investigation AGAIN currently for other criminal charges pertaining to more activities which occurred also involving his Soundview Health Care Network.

ALSO, the New York Times has reported that:

"Highlighting the often elastic nature of ethical stands and alliances in Albany, Republicans who earlier this year were calling on Mr. Monserrate to resign after his indictment on felony charges that he stabbed his companion with a broken glass are now welcoming him as part of their power-sharing coalition."

The New York Daily News has said:

The coup "revealed Albany for the madhouse it has become, with the lunatics firmly in charge of the asylum."

Finally, Robert Harding has indicated on 'The Albany Project' blog that this rigmarole is essentially a result of republicans wanting to block any type of vote in the State Senate pertaining to the legalization of gay marriage, saying, "...This is all about the gay marriage bill that (Democrats) are trying to push for a vote in the (State) Senate..."

WHEW! AND I THOUGHT THAT POLITICS IN VIRGINA & TENNESSEE WAS 'ENTERTAINING'
