Halloween Blogging: Not for the Squeamish

Permalink 08:21:23 pm, Categories: Right-Winger Wringer

I warn you, if you have a weak stomach or a bad heart, do not venture beyond this introduction. For beyond the confines of what is normal, decent and good there is a place of evil.
A place where only the demons and things that slither and crawl upon the ground dare reside.
A place so odoriferously foul that only the most vile of abominations can endure it’s grotesque recesses.

You’ve been warned.

So disgusting and so far beyond the realm of decency words simply fail to adequately describe the monstrous, Hellish beings that exist amongst us.
May God have mercy upon us all.

Senate Majority leader, Harry (jellyspine) Reid just announced that the Senate will pass their version of Health Care legislation with a Public Option intact.

That’s good news for many. Not so good for others.

They could just go with Single Payer and all would be well. But no, that would be too smart and too easy for this gov’t.
So we get drama. Lots of drama.

The legislation Reid refers to provides the individual states the opportunity to “Opt Out” of the Government supported plan.
Now, in Vermont or California you have little to worry about.
But, living in a state governed by idiots, as I do, this could end up leaving entire states full of needy at the mercy of the greedy.
And that’s not going to cut it.

The Republican/Republican-Lite, corporate owned Tennessee legislature is almost certain to “Opt Out” of the plan.
They took an ax to TennCare leaving it barely alive. 30% of Tennesseans are without coverage.
What about us, Reid?
Virginia is poised to elect a scumbag to the Governor’s office. Kansas has always been governed by fools.
There are no bigger idiots in state gov’t than we find in Florida.
North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas…
All of the uninsured of those states are at risk of being fucked by their state level leaders.

This is not good lookin’ out, Senate.
As a matter of fact, you suck.

Still, a Public Option, as I’ve been telling you, will be reality. That’s as good as we’ll get for now but it is better than the alternative.
However, I encourage all who read this to again contact your congress critters and tell them, firmly, that some states are run by fools and we don’t want to be left victim to their folly.
The PO must be a Fifty State Mandate. Care must be equal in every corner of the nation. If not, you’ll have states that become awash with insurance companies engaging in the same economically and morally disastrous practices that put us all where we are today. Either without care, or grotesquely overcharged for the care we have.

The “Opt Out” just isn’t an option.
For the industry maybe, but not for us.

From the LA Times:

By Noam N. Levey

October 26, 2009 | 1:34 p.m.

Reporting from Washington - Fueling the push for a new government insurance plan, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said today that his chamber’s healthcare bill would include a compromise that would create a nationwide public option but give states the right to opt out.

“The public option is not a silver bullet, [but] I believe it’s an important way to ensure competition and to level the playing field for patients with the insurance industry,” Reid said. “Under this concept, states will be able to decide what works for them.”

Reid sent the proposal to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office to be analyzed today, a key step before he can bring a bill to the floor for debate.

His decision does not settle the debate roiling Democratic ranks over how to create a government plan that would give consumers who don’t get coverage through their employers an alternative to plans offered by commercial insurers.

The “opt-out” compromise is still two votes shy of the 60 Reid needs to overcome a Republican filibuster, according to a senior Democratic aide on Capitol Hill who requested anonymity when discussing the plan.

“Under this concept, states will be able to decide what works for them.”

That’s the sound of Harry Reid throwing millions of Americans under the bus. This is unacceptable.
Write and call. Tell the House that Universal Health Care must be exactly that. Universal.
Well beyond the destructive reach of Governors and Legislators on the Insurance Industry’s payrolls.

Once upon a time, a naive young girl went to work for a company called Halliburton. They sent her to Iraq. There, she was drugged and raped by her co-workers.

Recently, legislation was introduced to help such victims have legal recourse against the corporations that refuse to recognize the problem and take action.
The legislation, by Sen. Al Franken, passed. However, thirty Republicans voted against that legislation.
One of them was Lamar Alexander, our local Senator from Blountville.

First, were this young lady any less naive we might not even write about it. We have no sympathy for blood money contractors or any other kind of mercenary who sought to profit off the failed, illegal war in Iraq.
This young girl states that she “was serving her country". She wasn’t. Mercenaries do not “serve". They don’t know the meaning of the word.
This issue goes far beyond the individual involved.
This issue is about keeping young men and women who make the mistake of choosing to be employed by lawless, Godless corporations, safe from exploitation and physical abuse.

They didn’t send this young woman to Iraq to be a part of some whimsical, fantasy laden, pie-in-the-sky battle against all evil. They sent her there to be someone’s whore.
They sent her for the purpose of being raped. Some sort of abominable gift to certain contractors there. A sex slave.
Were it not for the compassion of one of her captors, she would not be alive today.

The video below explains it all in detail. A great injustice has been committed against the standards of decency that civilization requires that we all live by in order to survive.
Again, the legislation intended to help such victims passed. But those who voted on behalf of rape and against a young victim will not be permitted to just walk away.

The list of filth who voted in favor of rape reads like a who’s who of Right Wing sub-humanoid servants of the flesh…

Lamar Alexander (R-TN)
Barrasso (R-WY)
Bond (R-MO)
Sam Brownback (R-KS)
Jim Bunning (R-KY)
Burr (R-NC)
Chambliss (R-GA)
Coburn (R-OK)
Cochran (R-MS)
Bob Corker (R-TN)
Cornyn (R-TX)
Crapo (R-ID)
Jim DeMint (R-SC)
John Ensign (R-NV)
Enzi (R-WY)
Lindsey Graham (R-SC)
Gregg (R-NH)
Inhofe (R-OK)
Isakson (R-GA)
Johanns (R-NE)
John Kyle (R-AZ)
John McCain (R-AZ)
Mitch McConnell (R-KY)
Risch (R-ID)
Roberts (R-KS)
Sessions (R-AL)
Shelby (R-AL)
Thune (R-SD)
David Vitter (R-LA)
Wicker (R-MS)

From adulterers like John Ensign to effeminate powder puffs like Lindsey Graham and Ensign’s fellow “C” Street Members Brownback and Coburn,
every one of these Senators, including our own Lamar Alexander, has placed their stamp of approval on the corporate sex slave trade.

Who knows how many other young women, and men, have been held against their will as sex slaves for corporations they worked for? Perhaps too afraid to come forward.
This is a problem that, thanx to Sen. Franken, may now be given the full attention of the Justice Dept. Let’s hope so.
Because this shit is disgusting and cannot be tolerated.

Lamar Alexander, you approved of rape to please your corporate masters. You are the textbook definition of a coward.

Another big step in the right direction. This is more than we’ve ever gotten from any gov’t before Obama’s.

Well done, Mr. President. Very well done.

This is for you, MM users. All these decades of relentless activism. All those who suffered and died to make this day possible. This is the ends we seek, and we will not stop until MJ is legalized across the nation.
Of course, stupid cops and judges will still commit harassment and assaults upon MM users, but the ball is rolling right over them now.

Spark and celebrate!

From Reuters:

By James Vicini and Dan Whitcomb

WASHINGTON/LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - In a sharp policy shift, the Obama administration told federal attorneys not to prosecute patients who use marijuana for medical reasons or dispensaries in states where it has been legalized.

A Justice Department official said the formal guidelines were issued Monday in a policy change reflecting President Barack Obama’s views. The Bush administration had said it could enforce the federal law against marijuana and that it trumped state laws.

The decision was praised by activists in California, the first state to legalize medical marijuana in 1996. But concern remains among some medical and law enforcement authorities about hundreds of clinics thought to be selling pot under the protection of state law and without regard to health.

As a candidate during his presidential bid last year, Obama said he intended to halt raids of medical marijuana facilities operating legally under state laws.

After he took office in January, a Drug Enforcement Administration raid on a medical marijuana dispensary in Lake Tahoe, California, raised questions about whether he would follow that pledge.

A White House spokesman Monday repeated Obama’s view that “federal resources should not be used to circumvent state laws.” And Attorney General Eric Holder said he would follow Obama’s position.

Stephen Gutwillig, California head of the Drug Policy Alliance, called the move a good first step.

“There is a fundamental need of patients to access marijuana as medicine right now,” Gutwillig said. “While it’s great to see the Obama administration radically de-escalate the Bush and Clinton administrations’ war on medical marijuana patients, more needs to be done to protect sick people and their caregivers.”

About a dozen states have followed California in adopting medical marijuana laws.

‘MORE NEEDS TO BE DONE’

Gutwillig called on the Obama administration to support a bill pending in Congress, proposed by Massachusetts Democrat Barney Frank, that would give states the right to adopt their own medical marijuana laws.

But the head of a California drug rehabilitation clinic criticized Monday’s move as irresponsible.

“The Justice Department is required to enforce all federal laws that are on the books,” said Jerrod Menz, president of A Better Tomorrow Treatment Center, said in a written statement.

“Imagine if the administration took a similar stance on immigration policy. Can you imagine the outrage?”

In a statement, Holder said the Justice Department will continue to prosecute people who claim to comply with state or local law, but really are concealing illegal operations.

This is great! But it is by no means enough. Protecting the innocent from Godless legislation is the first thing that needed to be done. But there are still miles to go before the evil is completely subdued and freedom rings.
We have won the drug war. Now it’s just a matter of removing the squatters.

A dear friend on the internet, whom I loves me some of, has asked me in a passionate fashion to blog about something other than politics today. She figures I need a break from five straight years of non stop politics.
I can do this ’til the oceans dry up, but she might have a point. Who knows?
;D

So, there I was…Trying to find something silly to post here to satisfy a dear friend’s genuine concerns.
Fortunately, I stumbled upon some fairly groovy pictures of the principals of a gymnastics tournament in England.
(The shit we do to please our friends)

Artistic Gymnastics World Championships 2009 at the O2 Arena in London. I mean, how much more interesting does it get? Right?
Now, I’m not saying these gals are not great athletes. They are beyond great actually. These tiny super-humans are indeed an impressive sight to behold.
At times, they defy description.
This series of pictures of the tournament may be able to better illustrate my awe when it comes to gymnastics.
(captainkona writing about gymnastics is like Seymour Hearsh writing a cook book)

We begin with a Chinese gymnast by the name of Deng Linlin. She seems to be missing something. Perhaps we’ll find it later…

This photograph of British contestant, Rebecca Wing, seems to indicate that her trainers reassembled her improperly after routine inspection…

Finland’s Ida Laisi is a truly amazing athlete.
Not only can she assume the exact same position that my ex-girlfriend spent most of her natural life in, she can do it in mid air and without the elasticated harness…

Kyoko Oshima of Japan treated the enthusiastic audience to a record breaking day when she became the first gymnast in history to score a Perfect “10″ in the Face Plant event…

Here’s Deng again. Still looking…

Our own Kayla Williams was doing an outstanding job before she was sucked into the O2 Arena vacuum system. At last report she was still missing and believed to be somewhere in the Maldives…

Ah, there it is…

Ok, now that’s just wrong. She was charged 30 Quid for that pedicure…

After finally locating her head, Deng was so happy she thoroughly delighted the audience by turning into a Dolphin and swimming gracefully away…

You know, when you really get down to it, there are things more interesting than politics.
Thanx, kind lady. I feel better already.

Just thought it was a cute headline….

Disgusting, sub-human, passionately traitorous babbling boob, Rush Limbaugh, attempted to buy into an NFL franchise.

He has been DENIED!

:))

From a Right Wing Murdoch Rag:

Limbaugh Dropped From Rams Bid
By MATTHEW FUTTERMAN

Rush Limbaugh won’t be buying a piece of the St. Louis Rams after all.

With criticism mounting, Dave Checketts, the sports businessman leading a group vying for the National Football League franchise, dumped the controversial conservative talk show host just days after Mr. Limbaugh disclosed his intent to buy a minority interest in the team.

“Rush was to be a limited partner–as such, he would have had no say in the direction of the club or in any decisions regarding personnel or operations,” Mr. Checketts, owner of the NHL’s St. Louis Blues, said in a statement released Wednesday. “This was a role he enthusiastically embraced. However, it has become clear that his involvement in our group has become a complication and a distraction to our intentions; endangering our bid to keep the team in St. Louis. As such, we have decided to move forward without him and hope it will eventually lead us to a successful conclusion.”

A representative for Mr. Limbaugh did not return messages seeking comment. He has said that he would take an active role in managing the team. In recent days Mr. Limbaugh stated his on his radio show and in television interviews that he would not drop out of the bidding for the team, which is expected to sell for about $750 million, according to people familiar with the matter.

Face it, Rush. Nobody loves you.
Surely you won’t object to the NFL treating you the way you have treated others. With contempt and derision.

But don’t lose heart. I heard the Jamaican bobsled team needs a towel boy. I could use someone to shovel snow from my parking lot this winter.

Give me a call. Minimum wage, no health care.

President Obama, who was recently in Virginia to give a speech to workers at a construction project which was funded by stimulus money, stated that he would explore “each and every avenue” of creating jobs.

Really, Mr. President?

From NASDAQ:

WASHINGTON -(Dow Jones)- Under pressure from some Democrats to adopt more economic stimulus, President Barack Obama said Wednesday that he will explore new ways to create jobs.

“Here’s the bottom line, we’re moving forward on a number of economic fronts,” Obama said at a Virginia construction project funded with money from the $787 billion Recovery Act. “And we’re going to continue to explore each and every avenue that I can think of that will lead to job creation and economic growth.”

At the event, Obama touted the initial stimulus, saying it has helped get the economy “moving in the right direction.”

He didn’t discuss any new economic proposals. Democratic lawmakers, however, have pushed for an extension of a new home buyers tax credit and a new tax break for businesses that add new workers.

Hows about some Green Jobs, Barack? No, not those kind of “Green Jobs". These kind of Green Jobs…

From California NORML:

….Based on experience with the wine industry, the total economic activity generated by legal marijuana could be nearly four times as great as retail sales, around $12 - $18 billion. Amsterdam-style coffeehouses would generate jobs and tourism. If the marijuana industry were just one-third the size of the wine industry, it would generate 50,000 jobs and $1.4 billion in wages, along with additional income and business tax revenues for the state.

An entirely new and innovative industry awaits you, Mr. President. Why is it that, thus far, you continue to scoff at the truth concerning Marijuana, Hemp and the gold mine of wealth to be found there?

From textiles to medications to bio-fuels. It’s sitting right there in front of your face. All the facts are available with a simple Google. The math has been done for you.
There is nothing to fear, in this case, but fear it’s self.
;)

(B) Economic Revenues from Taxation: a $2.7 - $4.5 billion market

The total value of the domestic marijuana market can be estimated on the basis of its current retail price. Depending on quality, retail price of a single gram (one or two joints) ranges around $10 - $15 ($280 - $420/ounce) for domestic bud, or as low as $5-7 for Mexican grass. For comparison, the prevailing price on the quasi-legal Dutch market is $6/gram. At $10/ gram, the total value of California’s domestic marijuana market comes to about $ 4.5 billion per year. In a legal market, prices could be expected to fall. If they fell to current Dutch prices, the retail value of the current market would be $2.7 billion. However, this decrease would be at least partly offset by an increase in consumption. In sum, the total domestic market might reasonably be estimated at $2.7 - $4.5 billion in California.

That’s California. One state.
Add the rest of the nation to that equation and guess what you get, Mr. President….
Beaucoup jobs, mountains of revenue, massive cash infusion (aka stimulus).
The country would become so stimulated we’d probably spewge all over the Western Hemisphere.

According to basic logic and renown authority, Dr. Heather Anne Harder

Both Presidents Washington and Jefferson grew hemp. Americans were legally bound to grow hemp during Colonial times. The Federal government even subsidized hemp during WWII. In 1807 California produced 125,000 pounds of Hemp. 40% came from Santa Barbara.

Hemp is among the oldest industries on the planet, going back more than 10,000 years to the beginning of pottery. The oldest relic of human industry is a bit of hemp fabric dating back to approximately 8,000 B.C.

Hemp played a major role in the stabilization and economy of our nation for many decades. It wasn’t until it became a threat to the natural resource companies back in the thirties did it first experience a ban on its growth. After all, hemp oil is clean, renewable, cheap, and clean while fossil fuels were limited, expensive and dirty. Those who stood to make a fortune in fossil fuels couldn’t compete. Also contributing to hemp bashing was William Randolph Hearst. Seems he had a huge financial interest in the timber market. It was his newspapers that spear-headed the hemp bashing in order to influence public opinion. Using the Mexican word for hemp, “marijuana,” Hearst turned the public against hemp by playing on their fears and misled the public concerning the nature of hemp/marijuana. Until then people were comfortable with hemp-but this Mexican marijuana was a whole new ball game.

So, Mr. President. You have talked out of both sides of your face on the Legalization issue. But sooner or later you’re going to have to face Liberal voters in another election. Many of us are already disenchanted with some of the things you’ve done (and haven’t done). Do you really think you can afford to lose the Liberal base when you have an energized Right Wing breathing down your neck in 2012?
I promise you that you can’t.

Not only would the industry create an abundance of new opportunities, but imagine how many people will not be fired because they tested positive for Marijuana that they smoked three weeks ago.

The answer is right in front of your face, sir.
How long will you ignore the inevitable?

The Answer

There is nothing I despise more than a coward. Therefor, I must write this open letter to DNC Chairman Tim Kaine…

This is why I have such a problem with you, Tim Kaine, running the DNC…

From the Associated Press:

“DNC pulls health care ad after Dole objects

(AP) – 2 hours ago

WASHINGTON — The Democratic National Committee is canceling a television ad touting GOP support for health care reform after protests from one of the Republicans mentioned, former Senate Majority Leader Bob Dole.

The ad quotes a series of Republicans — including California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, former Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist and former Health and Human Services Secretary Tommy Thompson — saying the health care system needs to be reformed.

Dole is quoted saying: “I want this to pass. … We’ve got to do something.”

The ad then accuses current GOP congressional leaders as “siding with the insurance companies” to fight health care reform.

Dole told ABC News on Sunday that he objected to the ad’s criticism of the current Republican leadership.

“I just didn’t think it was fair, when I’ve tried to be helpful in encouraging a bipartisan solution, for the DNC to run an ad that I interpreted and I know others did as a backhanded comment about Republicans,” Dole said.”

You are a coward, Kaine.
A gutless pragmatist that couldn’t carry Dr. Dean’s lab coat.
GET OUT! Get the fuck out of the DNC before you destroy the future of this party.
Just ask the President to replace you with Dean or Bill Richardson or Shirley Temple or someone who has the fucking guts to fight.

A good, truthful ad, and you pull it on the objection of a scumbag like Bob Dole?
You are a disgrace, Kaine. A disgrace.
Hand in your resignation immediately. I’m tired of your pathetic capitulation and obvious inability to stand firm on any issue.
You are a complete and total failure.

The Public Option? You’ve said nothing and done nothing. Choosing progressive candidates to replace the likes of Baucus, Ross, Nelson etc.?
You have done nothing. Courting young prospective voters to become the future of the party? Fail!
The new Democratic Progressive Party has no room for weaklings. No tolerance for capitulation, no time for fools and no reward for failure.
You were the wrong choice to chair the party when Obama picked you (one of his biggest mistakes) and you have proven, time and time again, to be the wrong choice still.

At least have enough respect for your party and it’s future to resign.

It’s a great honor. One that can be awarded to any human being with a record of peace and effort to help his fellow man.
Today, it has been justly awarded again.

The Nobel Peace Prize.

Only three other US Presidents have had this great honor bestowed upon them. Roosevelt, Wilson and the heavyweight champion of peace, Jimmy Carter.
Other recipients include Al Gore, Martin Luther King, Amnesty International, Mother Teresa…
Though occasionally soiled by being given to the likes of Henry Kissinger, Yasser Arafat and Yitzhak Rabin, the Nobel Peace Prize still carries the weight of the world’s appreciation for those who dare to seek peace.

Congratulations, Mr. President.

I’m sure Glenn Beck is shitting himself as we write.

Too bad, Right Wingers. If it’s any consolation, had there been a Nobel Idiot Prize, George Bush would have surely won it.
Better luck next time.

PS: Don’t feel too terribly bad, Repigs. After all, you’re not alone in your objection…
Taliban Condemns Obama Nobel Prize

Birds of a feather….

UPDATED:
Since a few of my fellow Liberals, as much as I love them, have a tendency to be a little shallow…

Barack Obama’s ears are firmly pinned back. The world has set a standard by which Obama must now abide.
He has been heralded a champion of peace. Now, he will have no choice but to live up to the expectations imposed upon him.

Many of us are upset with the President for remaining at war. Now, there’s a good chance that things will go a little more our way.
Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth.

Rachel Maddow: Power Play Time

The lovely lady of the left brings us good news. It may be that Democrats have finally found some balls.

Don’t touch that dial…

According to Ms. Maddow, and boldprogressives.org, certain “power brokers” on the Democratic Left have decided to keep their Right-Leaning colleagues honest by force.
It’s about fucking time.

According to Maddow…

“Two major powerbrokers on the left…are encouraging a Senate strategy in which the leadership would revoke chairmanships and other leadership positions from any Democrat who sides with a Republican filibuster to block a vote on health reform.”

That’s how you do it. If they want to be Republicans, treat them like Republicans.
Strip people like Max Baucus of their chairmanships and force them to side with their constituencies instead of their corporate benefactors.
This is playing hardball at it’s finest.
This should have been done long ago.

I’m pretty sure I know who the “two” power brokers are, and I thank God for them and their courage.
But let’s not spoil the fun. ;)

Just go to the following link and sign the petition to Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid.

PETITION

Tell the spineless bastard that we support busting down those Democraps that might be inclined to side with Republicans in a filibuster of health care legislation.
Let these shamefully capitulating cowards know that they will be de-ranked, disgraced and showered with derision if they turn their coats even one more time.

We’re going to win this. We will have a Public Option. We will have choice in health care.
All it takes is for Democrats to show the kind of intestinal fortitude they have seldom (read “never") shown in the past.
