The Democratic Reality of the Health Care Debate.
The Public Option is, as Dr. Dean said, the most important aspect of this legislation. Though many attempt to minimize it’s impact, White House included, the fact remains that without it the legislation will be worthless.
The power of the Public Option is not only found in what can be gained from it medically.
It’s also very much an indispensable political victory.
The reason we on the Left dragged it out into the open the way we did was to back the administration and congress into a corner. If the Dems fail to pass a form of the Public Option, they will have given victory to liars and fools.
That would leave the vast majority of the Democratic base at home during any upcoming elections.
This is a test of strength. And though any and all standards of decency clearly indicate that legislation should never be passed, or killed, as the result of a congressional pissing match, that, my friends, is the way it is. It just is, and everybody knows it.
Democrats will never recover if they fail here.
They can only afford so much compromise and they’ve pretty much used up their credit as it is. They would be better off failing to pass any bill than to pass one a conservative minority dictated. If the bill fails, Dems can truthfully lay blame on Republicans and their Blue Dog pets. If the Public Option fails, Obama and Democrats fail. No one else.
Now, there’s still this.
They could still pass a bill without either… Federal funding for Abortion, or a Public Option, and attempt to add them later. But that obviously will not do as the party has made it’s self fairly clear on this.
Though personally, I would omit the abortion coverage in favor of the Public Option if given the opportunity to exchange one for the other.
Abortions cost a lot less than major medical treatments and aren’t needed nearly as often. The abortion aspect could be handled in separate legislation.
So, Harry Reid…Barack…whoever…
May I strongly suggest that you do whatever it takes, whatever-it-takes to pass this legislation with no further damage. Threaten, coerce, blackmail, campaign against, demote…whatever it takes, to seal this victory for the people. Because if you don’t, you may well be sealing the fate of the Democratic party. We would look both stupid AND weak-willed.
I truly hope you folks haven’t forgotten how to play dirty. After all, you are politicians, aren’t you?

I think that somewhere in all this debate a very important factor has become MIA. Hidden from view by the lies from the Right. This debate, this legislation is not about cost. It’s about giving all Americans access to health care. That is the bottom line.
There should, for any real American, be no doubt that this is our duty to one another.
To care for, nurture, and help each other through all manner of travail. Either we are our brother’s keeper or we’re not. The powers that be had better decide.
The margin of error is zero.

Happy Thanxgiving
Remember this day those who have nothing, and those who want them to stay that way. To the former we give and from the latter we take.
Poverty in America:
In 2007, 37.5 million people were impoverished.
12.5% of the population and 9.8% of families
20.3 million or 10.9% of people aged 18 - 64
13.3 million or 18% of children under age 18, and
3.7 million or 9.7% of seniors aged 65 or older who benefit from Social Security and Medicare.
Also:
36.2 million Americans are food insecure, including 12.4 million children. They comprise 13 million or 11.1% of households.
4.7 million households experience “very low food security” meaning hunger is a persistent problem.
Households with children have double the food insecurity as ones with none.
Single women-headed households are worst off with 30.2% of them insecure. (Numbers courtesy of Stephen Lendman)
That is the crime.
This is the Criminal.

Once again, the Mid West is the most harmonious region in the country. The South comes in second. Unfortunately, the North and the West, those who constantly accuse the South of hate, are the worst by far and away.
Hey. What’s up with you Yankees and Surfer Boys? Better get with the program. You have to figure you have serious issues when the people you always accuse are light years ahead of you socially.
http://www.fbi.gov/ucr/hc2008/data/table_12.html
FBI 2008 Hate Crime Statistics
Listed are “reported incidents". Some of those incidents may not have been actual hate crimes. One must also consider the enormous, unknown number of unreported hate crimes and you get the drift.
California - 1,381
New Jersey - 744
New York - 570
Michigan - 560
Ohio - 345
Virginia is the worst among Southern states with 263 reported incidents.
Mississippi is the best in the nation with 4.
California again is the worst. The North, again, is worse than the South.
We still have a long way to go down here. But at least we’re headed in the right direction.
Tea Bag Filth Heckle Couple Who Lost Grandaughter
A brood of vermin that goes by the handle “Chicago Tea Party Patriots” on video showing the true nature of their sub-human kind.
May each and every one of these pieces of shit rot in the bowels of Hell where all of their species belong.
Chattahbox has it all:
Unruly Teaparty Mob Heckles Couple Who Lost Grandchild, Daughter-in-Law
November 23, 2009
(ChattahBox)—The ugliness and mob mentality of the Tea Party movement was on full display last week, during a town meeting held by Rep. Dan Lipinski (D-Ill.) on Nov. 14. What happened? A mob of teabaggers, blinded by hate and anger laughed at and heckled a grieving couple, who lost both their daughter-in-law and grandchild.
Dan and Midge Hough stood to tell their story of a tragic personal loss they attribute to lack of health insurance. Their pregnant daughter-in-law, twenty-four-year old Jennifer, was uninsured and she was unable to afford proper prenatal care. When she was hospitialized with double pneumonia, it quickly developed into septic shock and other complications. Her baby died in her womb and Jenny died weeks later. She left behind her husband and two-year-old child.
As Midge Hough began to tell the audience of her loss, with tears in her eyes, several people in the audience, who were members of the Chicago Tea Party Patriots began to roll their eyes, laugh out loud and shout at her. “You can laugh at me, that’s okay. But I lost two people, and I know you think that’s funny, that’s okay.”
Throughout the meeting, the raucous Chicago Tea Party Patriots shouted down Rep Lipinski, booed and hurled insults, as he vainly tried to have a civil discussion with the unruly activitists about the need for health care reform.
Who was behind this sickening display? A woman named, Catherina Wojtowicz, the head of the Chicago Tea Party Patriots who organized the disruption at the town meeting. Before the meeting, she ignited the seething anger of her group by sending out fliers that read: He sold us out! He voted for Socialized medicine!
When confronted about her group’s shameful actions, she defended her group’s mob behavior by smearing the Houghs, calling them liars.
Wojtowicz “…falsely claimed that the Houghs fabricated their story. In an e-mail, she called them operatives of President Barack Obama who “go from event to event and (cry) the same story.” The Chicago Tea Party leader claimed her group did not want to be subjected to personal stories illustrating the suffering of the uninsured.
Rest at link.
Sad. Sad, miserable little cowards.
Guns in Bars Law Struck Down

That happened even quicker than most of us said it would. This is what happens when we elect morons and half wits to state legislative positions. Knee-jerk, back assward Conservatives legislating on a whim and not even considering the obvious.
Bar and Restaurant owners get a break from the Tennessee Big Gov’t Legislature’s lack of respect for their rights.
Good Job, Ms. Bonnyman.
From the BHC:
Since earlier this year, those with gun carry permits, could carry their weapon into restaurants and bars. Now a ruling handed down in a Nashville courtroom, will strike down that law.
Chancellor Claudia Bonnyman ruled that Tennessee’s “Guns-In-Bars” law was unconstitutionally vague.
She said that currently Tennessee has no legal definition for what constitutes a bar, or a restaurant.
The Tennessee Legislature enacted the bill earlier this year, over the veto of Governor Phil Bredesen.
Lieutenant Governor Ron Ramsey says the bill will be brought back up for a vote, with corrections made to make it less vague, when the legislature reconvenes on January 12th.

Oh boy. It’s times like these that make me glad I’m a Liberal blogger. Just to catch the Right Wing in one of their moments of unparalleled hypocrisy is something I truly savor.
Like a Sugar Cane blunt packed with Alaskan Thunderfuck, it is sweet to both pallet and soul alike.
And the truth marches on….
Politico drops the ball every once in a while, but for the most part, a good blog. Regardless, they hit a home run here.
It seems that Politico found out that the RNC (Republican National Committee) Health Plan, the plan that benefits them and their families, has been providing coverage for abortions.
Yes. Abortions. ![]()
From Politico:
By JONATHAN ALLEN | 11/13/09 2:48 AM EST
The Republican National Committee will no longer offer employees an insurance plan that covers abortion after POLITICO reported Thursday that the anti-abortion RNC’s policy has covered the procedure since 1991.
“Money from our loyal donors should not be used for this purpose,” Chairman Michael Steele said in a statement to POLITICO. “I don’t know why this policy existed in the past, but it will not exist under my administration. Consider this issue settled.”
Steele has told the committee’s director of administration to opt out of coverage for elective abortion in the policy it uses from Cigna.
So, the Republican National Committee has been taking money from the Right Wing. The Evangelicals, Right-to-Lifers, Tea Bag Fags, Glen Beck worshipers etc.?
And with this money, paying for abortions for their mistresses, dirty daughters, unfaithful wives and such?

I don’t know what’s funnier. The most comically blatant hypocrisy in the history of the world, or the slapstick stupidity of the ignoramuses that donate to the Republican Party.
This is great….

Federal Election Commission Records show the RNC purchases its insurance from Cigna, and two sales agents for the company said that the RNC’s policy covers elective abortion.
LOL. They’ve been holding up health reform because they oppose federal funds being used for abortions. Unless, of course, those federal funds are used for abortions on their trampoline daughters who spend the night getting jumped up and down on by the High School football team.
“Since 1991″? That would mean it covered Republicans back when John Ashcroft, who supports murder charges for women who have abortions and doctors who perform the procedures, was Attorney General.
The proof is in the puddin’, folk. Where is the “Pro Life” outrage? Where is the Evangelical and it’s red-faced, screaming blather?
Simple, they don’t really care about “life". They care about having a standard for them and a separate standard for the rest of us. They can have abortion if needed but the rest of us can’t.
I guess liars can justify anything if they lie hard enough.
Well, Politico caught them and that was good work indeed. Heh, they even have CIGNA as the carrier.
Oh, joy. This is the RNC at it’s best.

A big, burly ol’ Hat Tip to my buddy, Tim Valentine at TI&S.
Army Corp of Engineers Blamed for Katrina Disaster.

It’s been a long time since I wrote something when I was completely and totally pissed off to the point of contemplating violence. But there is a Federal Judge that needs his ass turned into a shoe shine stand
Certain forms of suck-ass stupidity do me this way…
U.S. District Judge Stanwood Duval. This complete and total fucktard of a judge has for some reason laid blame for the collapse of the levees in New Orleans, during Hurricane Katrina, upon the heads of the Army Corp of Engineers.
From the Washington Post:
Judge rules Army engineers liable for Katrina flooding
By associated press
Thursday, November 19, 2009NEW ORLEANS – A federal judge ruled Wednesday that the Army Corps of Engineers’ failure to properly maintain a navigation channel led to massive flooding in Hurricane Katrina.
U.S. District Judge Stanwood Duval sided with five residents and one business who argued the Army Corps’ shoddy oversight of the Mississippi River-Gulf Outlet led to the flooding of New Orleans’s Lower Ninth Ward and neighboring St. Bernard Parish. He said, however, the corps couldn’t be held liable for the flooding of eastern New Orleans, where one of the plaintiffs lived.
Duval awarded the plaintiffs $720,000, or about $170,000 each, but the decision should give more than 100,000 other individuals, businesses and government entities a better shot at claiming billions of dollars in damages.
Why you little suck-ass punk. This money should be coming from the Bush family fortune.
Judge Stanwood Duval

It’s a cryin’ shame that a judge who obviously has no fucking clue how the ACoE operates would be allowed to sit in judgment over such a fine institution. But the real question is, is this Duval clown really this stupid and immune to the facts, or is he just covering for the people who are really responsible for the failed maintenance of the levee system and the Army’s budget for that maintenance?
The facts have not changed since that tragedy:
That filthy coward, George W. BushCo, is 100% responsible for it and that is a cold, hard fact…
Sunday, 4 September 2005
UK Independent…
“Natural and man-made defences have long been neglected. A 10-year plan to strengthen levees after a 1965 hurricane was never completed. But the skimping has worsened since President Bush’s election, particularly after 11 September. Federal spending on flood control in south-east Louisiana has been cut by almost half since 2001, from $69m (£34.5m) per year to $36.5m. Funds for work at Lake Pontchartrain, the source of the flooding, have fallen by nearly two-thirds over three years, from $14.25m to $5.7m. As a result, work on New Orleans’ east bank hurricane levees stopped last summer for the first time in 37 years.
The US Army Corps of Engineers, which maintains the levees, requested $27m this year for hurricane protection around the lake. President Bush tried to cut this to $3.9m, although Congress allowed $5.7m. The President also tried to cut $78m to improve drainage and prevent flooding in the city to $30m, though Congress passed $36.5m. A $14bn longer-term project to restore marshes was cut to $570m.”
One thing I love about math is that numbers never, ever lie. George W. Bush (and the Congressional Republican Majority) cut funding. That is the only fact that matters when liability is involved.
Given the long history of warnings about the probability of NOLA flooding, why did George W. Bush cut funding?
There are only two possible reasons.
1) To fund the disastrous, failed war in Iraq.
or…
2) In hopes of NOLA flooding out so he could provide such un-American vermin as Blackwater, Halliburton, etc. with contracts to level and rebuild after the residents were evicted.
Number two would require foresight and intellect. It’s difficult to imagine that being a factor with the Bush administration.
Though they are clearly evil enough to consider it.
Or perhaps, this was about George Bush and his psychotic, Satanic war on the people of Iraq. “To hell with Americans, it’s more important to kill Iraqis, take their money and allow Iran to thrive". That was their attitude.
Perhaps it was about both since Iraq it’s self was predominately about financial gain.
This “judgment” is one of the worst politically motivated miscarriages of justice I have witnessed in a long time. At least since November of 2000.
May George Bush, his supporters and his judge rot in Hell where they belong. America knows who is responsible in this instance. The historical record will remind us for a long time to come.
Keep your heads up and appeal to the top, Army Corp of Engineers. This was NOT your fault.

With a new attitude that was ushered in with a more Liberal government in 2008, Marijuana is rolling, full steam ahead, into the main stream of American culture.
We are enjoying victory after victory against the liars, miscreants, and black-hearted filth of the anti-Marijuana fringe.
…and the train kep’a rollin’ all night long…
Our dear friend, Sharon Cobb reports that America’s first Cannabis Cafe has opened in the great state of Oregon.
Thanx be to God, freedom draws ever so close.
Recently, the American Medical Association (AMA) has endorsed Medical Marijuana research.
Once a major purveyor of gov’t Drug War propaganda, the AMA has done a complete about face and clearly submitted to the scientific facts they once so gracefully avoided.
We have won. We endured and we have defeated the Right Wing ignorance that has caused so many to suffer needlessly in infirmity and in jails and prisons.
This trend will not reverse. With young people of today moving slowly into positions of political power, the future of freedom is bright.
There are few things more unjust than to incarcerate someone for Marijuana, but few of us can get ourselves busted with the style and grace that Steve the Lawnmower Guy does.
So we celebrate the nation’s first Cafe with our pal, the legendary Steve.

Summary of Current Events
Briefly….
1) Congressional Conservanoid Democraps to be targeted:
Liberal Groups and activists are girding up our loins for the upcoming Democratic Primaries. There are dues to pay and we will do everything we can, spend every dime we can, to remove certain persons masquerading as Democrats from our midst.
Scott Murphy (D-NY). Murphy won a special election in April with ads featuring President Obama in a district Obama won. He told voters “the United States is facing a health care crisis.” Yet Murphy voted against Obama’s #1 domestic priority: health care.
Heath Shuler (D-NC). In 2006, Democrats spent millions helping Shuler win what is now a safe seat. As chief “whip” for the Blue Dogs, Shuler recruited other Democrats to vote against health care reform.
John Barrow (D-GA). Barrow won his 2008 Democratic primary solely because Obama endorsed him in a highly African-American district – a district that Obama won by double digits.
Suzanne Kosma (D-FL). Kosma represents a district near Rep. Alan Grayson, but is the polar opposite of Grayson. Instead of being bold and having a people-powered campaign, she is corporate-funded and consistently votes against the people.
Mike Ross (D-AR). Ross is a top Blue Dog who Keith Olbermann featured for selling out to his insurance contributors. Our PCCC poll showed that Arkansas voters want a public option by 56% to 37%.
Heath Shuler….failed football player, failed Democratic Congressman. This particular punk has always rubbed me the wrong way. I will personally be going to Carolina to help raise funds for whoever his primary opponent is.
These are the targets. We have work to do.
2) Bill Clinton addresses the Senate Dems on Health Reform:
This could be good, or bad.
If Clinton is his usual Republican appeasing self, he’ll be trying to talk Progressives out of supporting the Public Option. If for some odd reason he’s finally become a man, he’ll chastise insurance industry owned Democrats for standing in the way of progress.
That’s the problem with a Clinton, you never know what side of their face they’re going to talk out of.
I hope he’s man enough to do the right thing. But I’m not holding my breath.
I’m wagering he’s stabbing us in the back yet again.
3) Blackwater Security bribed Iraqi officials to avoid punishment for murdering civilians:
LINK
Well, there’s the proof Iraq is a failure. How much money do you think Iran has given the very same officials to look the other way when the arms shipments and Shiite Fundamentalists are coming in?
Through these bribes, Blackwater Security has admitted that which they always denied. That they intentionally and wantonly targeted civilians, women and children, for no reason other than sport.
Erik Prince shouldn’t worry too much though. Clearly he has enough money to secure the penthouse when he arrives in hell.
4) Pelosi’s Grand Slam:
Like it, or her, or not, Nancy Pelosi has won her biggest victory with the passage of HR 3962, The Affordable Health Care for America Act.
Sometimes frustrating to her base and always Kryptonite to the Right Wing, Nancy Pelosi is always embroiled is some sort of drama.
This time, she has
wned Conservanoids in the House and all across the nation.
The Speaker was treated to a roaring standing ovation from health care providers upon her return home to San Francisco.
Could have been better, Nance. But it’s something. ![]()
5) Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty:
This walking, talking penis with ears is growing like a cancer. Though probably too moderate to suit the humanoid sycophants that comprise the Republican Right, I predict he will draw a sizable following of run-o-the-mill Republicans and conservanoid Democraps.
I advise bloggers to start gathering information now.
6) Happy Veterans Day:
Youz guys and gals fucking ROCK!
7) Afghanistan got ya down, Mr. President?:
Afghanistan is going on nine years. What’s the goal?
Want my advice? Offer the Taliban the Northern half of the country as an autonomous Islamic state. Provided,
a) They form a Parliamentary system and join the UN. That would make them eligible for aid as long as they b) agree to observe UN humanitarian rules and regulations and accept oversight from moderate Muslim nations. They have rest, food and drink and more Sharia than you can shake a stick at.
In jail they tell you that “if you behave” you get a soda and a movie on Friday. It’s called “perqs".
If you want them in line, you have to give them something to lose.
If they later fail to adjust to civilized living or become a threat to others, at least you have them all in one place that can be targeted for blanket destruction.
Whatever you do, you had better do whatever it takes to keep them from completing Osama Bin Laden’s original plan. Taking over the gov’t of Pakistan and acquiring Nukes. That would cause India to go off and it would all be down hill from there.

Knocking Senate Heads: Obama's Last Stand
The Great Congressional Representative, John Conyers, recently advised the President to start “knocking heads” if he wants Health Reform to pass the Senate. Aside from his support of HR 676, Conyers has never been so right.
The time for child’s play is over. The House has approved inadequate-but-effective Health Reform legislation. Barack Obama must now assert his authority as the leader of the democratic party.
It won’t be easy, it won’t be pleasant. But Barack Obama must now slap Conservanoid Senate Dems into submission.
Particularly that sub-human piece of shit more commonly known as Sen."Red” Joe Lieberman.
The President must, must make it abundantly clear that he will not tolerate any Democratic Senator putting their insurance industry money ahead of party and people. Barack Obama must state, in no uncertain terms, that he will personally campaign for the next Primary challenger of any Democratic Senator who fails to perform the duties the people of this nation, and their constituencies, have vested in them.
The time has come for Barack Obama to finally take firm control of the government he leads and do so without hesitation or mercy. The Insurance Industry slaves who serve as Democratic Senators have shown the American people no quarter. They must receive none in return.
Below is a list of the 100 US Senators. We have indicated how we see them voting. We have also categorized them for the sake of accuracy….
LIST
We feel we have at least 52 YES votes for a final bill with a Public Option intact.
We have 40 NO votes which includes Independent, Joe Lieberman.
We have 2 walking talking question marks. Both Republicans.
We have 6 Conservanoid, bought and sold Democraps who need to shape up or suffer the collective wrath of the President and party faithful.
The 52 YES votes are all Democrats joined by Bernie Sanders I - VT.
The 40 NO votes are the Republicans, Lieberman, and possibly one or all of the six Democraps. Ben Nelson D - NE, is feeling the sting of progressive activism as we speak. We are calling him a “NO” vote but he is showing blatant signs of caving to pressure from Democrats in his own state.
Republicans Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins are our 2 question marks. They will likely vote “NO” but are known for being more movable than any of their fellow Scum.
The 6 Democraps are:
BAUCUS: Phone: (202) 224-2651
LINCOLN: Phone: (202) 224-4843
CONRAD: Phone: (202) 224-2043
NELSON: Phone: (202) 224-5274
CARPER: Phone: (202) 224-2441
LANDRIEU: Phone: (202) 224-5824
With 51 votes, which we’re confident we have, the measure can be moved via Reconciliation. A Republican Filibuster is all but assured. 60 votes eliminates the Filibuster.
52 “YES” votes + the 6 Democraps, if Obama is willing to kick their asses, brings us to 58 votes. Two votes shy of filibuster proof voting.
Add Ben Nelson and we’re one shy.
Lieberbitch is a definite “NO” unless Obama threatens to have him removed from any chairmanships he might have. Like his precious Committee on Homeland Security and Gov Affairs chairmanship.
Removing the Zionist Pig from this all important, Israel supporting committee’s chair, is powerful mojo on Joe.
Did I mention his mother was a goat? Perhaps this is off topic.
That leaves us with trying to schmooze Snowe and Collins. And unless some other Republican suddenly finds a soul, 59 is where we stay.
Bottom line? Reconcile, if it comes down to it. The Public Option, as written in the House bill, cannot be compromised any more than it already has been. It’s already a shell of what it was intended to be.
Negotiations are, I assume, ongoing. But Barack Obama must drop the hammer on the Six Democraps (and one rat) and drop it hard. He must be the one to do it.
MoveOn and other fine organizations are rapidly collecting mega funds that will support Primary challenges to Democrap held Senate seats. Obama has the muscle to sway these turncoats. Their political futures are very much threatened.
A good slap or two could move them forward.
We’ve come this far, only one more battle to wage.
Defeat of the Public aspect of reform is not an option. We must win this fight at any cost.
The President’s legacy either begins, or ends, here.
I hope he realizes that.

Democrats Lose Ground: This is Why.

No, this was no “referendum on Obama” as the weak of mind might claim. It will have no effect whatsoever on the progressive agenda.
But there is a stark and brutally clear lesson to be learned here. Whether or not Obama and the Democratic party are capable of learning it is an entirely different matter.
Democrats lost the Gubernatorials in New Jersey and Virginia. Are Democrats asking themselves why? There’s a number of reasons. Let’s examine them…
1) “LOW VOTER TURNOUT”
Did the Democratic party forget that we only win big when we turn out to vote? Seems that way.
What happened to the energized Liberal base of the Democratic party? Why couldn’t Obama rally us like he did in ‘08?
Well, when you campaign on change, then waste precious time pandering and capitulating and sucking up to the Right Wing, we don’t take you quite as seriously as we did before.
When you continue to provide scum like Eirk Prince and Balckwater contracts, when you fail to bring our troops home, when you socialize with the likes of George Bush and basically ignore our pleas and warnings on the internet, you leave the base with no other means of sending you a message.
Yesterday should be a lesson in the perils of pragmatism. President Obama, and the Democratic party, are not being Progressive enough. Therefor, turnout is low.
Turnout was low for both parties. This is the proof.
We should have won all those elections….
2) This blogger, once again, calls for the resignation of DNC Chairman Tim Kaine. There was no organized DNC effort on the ground. I live 2 miles from the Virginia line. I saw nothing in the way of organized anything. Tim Kaine pumped 6 million dollars of DNC money into Virginia. Where’d it go?
There were no buses bringing Democratic voters to the polls. There was no effort whatsoever.
Howard Dean would have aced this one. Tim Kaine is a weak spirited failure and should resign immediately.
He simply hasn’t the political wherewithal to lead this party to victory….
3) Blue DogShits and other Centrists in Congress have alienated the Democratic base with their pathetic displays of cowardice and Republicanism. Americans are stressing on the economy and the Democratic Center is helping Republicans drag out critical issues such as Health Reform that should have already been law.
This makes Americans nervous and makes Democrats, Obama included, look weak and indecisive.
Now granted, we didn’t lose all the locals, but the fact remains that all of these minor elections would have been ours were it not for the past year of kissing Republican ass and trying to keep their diapers changed.
Better learn from this one, Barack and Company. You did the typical Democratic thing when you were elected by moving to the Center and unnecessarily embracing the Right Wing.
Trouble is, the party has changed and we’re simply not going to tolerate that anymore.
We’ll let it all go to hell in a bucket before we’ll open arms to the Right.
These minor victories for the Right Wing will have no impact on the here and now whatsoever, but this had better be a wake up call to Democrats as 2010 quickly approaches.
We won’t turn out for a party that refuses to do what we put them there to do. Remember that the next time you offer a contract to Blackwater or pal around with a Bush or fail to forcefully support the Public Option.
If you thought that the Liberal base of the Democratic party would just settle for anything that wasn’t Bush, well, you thought wrong. Obviously.
Victor Hugo was right. The only thing we learn from history is that we don’t learn from history.
