Lamar Alexander: Uselessness In Human Form

Permalink 05:40:46 pm, Categories: Right-Winger Wringer, Democraps and Republitards

Sen. Lamar Alexander, the dazed and confused Senator from East Tennessee, has accomplished nothing in his entire career. Now, we find him working even harder at accomplishing even less….

Lamar Alexander cares nothing for the people of Tennessee. That much has become abundantly clear. He is a reclusive, beltway insider politician who has been proven to be out of touch and out to lunch on all important issues facing the state, our people and the country in general.

Speaking at Obama’s Health Care Summit, Alexander said nothing and offered nothing other than the same, canned Republican obstructionist lines.

Speaking for his party, Tennessee Senator Lamar Alexander told the president at the opening of a health care summit Thursday that he should scrap the health care bill Senate Democrats passed on Christmas Eve and start fresh from a clean sheet of paper.

Alexander said Republicans represent the views of a great number of Americans who oppose the Democratic approach. He said Republicans agree with many of the president’s ideas for controlling health care costs and that both parties should work “step by step toward that goal.”

Said Alexander: “This is a car that can’t be recalled and fixed and we ought to start over.”

No, Senator. This is not a “car", this is the lives of the American people and the people of the state you’re supposed to be representing. Your years as a Senator have yielded nothing. Absolutely nothing for this state.
Start fresh? Why? We started fresh months ago and Republicans contributed nothing but filibuster. 100% aligned against any kind of reform. What good would starting over do? Congress can amend the present legislation any time.
What is it that Senator Alexander is going to propose if we “start over” that he seemingly cannot propose at the summit?

Truth is, Lamar Alexander and the GOP have nothing to propose other than to run when the legislative going gets tough. Just drop it and run away. That is the conservative platform on health care reform. And in a time when Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen is threatening to cut even more TennCare benefits, the people of the state of Tennessee could really use some Obama Care right about now. Especially since our elected officials, like Alexander and Rep. Phil Roe, have no intention of doing anything to help their people. Imagine the money the state would save if National Health Care replaced TennCare.

Sen. Alexander has the seniority to relieve many of Tennessee’s woes yet he does nothing other than play party politics with our health and our lives. Nothing, not one major accomplishment.

Tennessee is a poor state with a lot of poor people. We need universal health care. Clearly the President and many in Congress are fighting for our well being. Clearly, our Senator is not.
What’s he fighting for? That’s the easiest part to explain….

As we see HERE, Health Industry Corporations and other entities have provided Lamar Alexander with well over a Million dollars in lobbyist funds. Meanwhile, our loved ones die prematurely from lack of affordable health care.

Lamar Alexander is a disgrace to NE Tennessee. His priorities are obviously centered elsewhere and he has no clue what Tennesseans need. He is a self centered, hypocritical dunce that needs desperately to be replaced by a real Tennessean. The lights are on but nobody’s home.

This man must go.

Summary of Current Events

Permalink 03:21:08 pm, Categories: Had to post it

Yep…

1) Like, OMG, Gag me with a Hot Dog:

Some insignificant group of malcontents at American Academy of Pediatrics has suggested that we should change the shape of hot dogs because they’re afraid children might choke on them.

….People, just shut the fuck up.

You remind me of PETA and the fly swatting incident. You’re idiots with too much time on your hands. You actually assail the “shape” of hot dogs when all you had to do was recommend that parents CUT THE FUCKING THING UP BEFORE THEY FEED IT TO THEIR KIDS!?
Morons…. What shape should they be? Maybe triangle shaped so the kid can poke their eye out? How ’bout star shape so they can throw them and poke the other kid’s eye out? Hows about a nice Octahedronic dog so they can summon Hellraiser?

Fact is, a non-tubular hot dog already exists. It’s round and they call it A FUCKING HAMBURGER!

2) Blooming Energy:

60 Mins has brought to light what may possibly be the future of energy independence. The Bloom Box, named for it’s company, Bloom Inc, is the brain child of a great American genius named K.R. Sridhar.
Sridhar suddenly, after a decade of developed Bloom Box, went public with the invention.
I consider this to be a very wise move considering the history of questionable deaths when it comes to innovation.
Preston Tucker, the great automobile innovator was killed under very questionable circumstances. Recently, some Tesla Motors employees were killed in a plane crash. Those circumstances are anything but clear.

The possibilities of the Bloom Box are almost endless. Pursuing this innovation will ultimately give the people a weapon against the energy whores that rob us day and night for electric and other forms of energy. Once condensed, the Bloom Box could easily power a car.

Good move, Sridhar. We are forever in your debt.

3) Israel. Serial Killers:

A Hamas big wig was assassinated in Dubai and the sloppiness of the operation is the signature of the inept Israeli murder squad known as the Mossad.
It’s not such a big deal that a Hamas leader was murdered, it’s that Israel seems to think that they can kill who they like when and where they like.

This behavior cannot be tolerated by the international community. It’s murder any way you fucking slice it. Israel is a criminal nation that has no right to exist. They have committed murder, attempted genocide and have deceptively stabbed those they call “friend” in the back too many times to count.
They are out of control and must be extinguished. Israel has no right to exist as a nation. They should be driven out of Palestinian territory and their leaders tried for war crimes in the international courts. Their sentences should be similar to that of Saddam Hussein.

Whatever Israel suffers in the future as a result of it’s inhuman, Godless ways can only be described as very much deserved. They are terrorists, nothing more and certainly nothing less.

4) You’re doin’ a heck of a job, Brownie:

Scott Brown, the new Massachusetts Senator and the Tea Bagger’s “41st vote” has helped Democrats overcome a Repig filibuster of the Jobs Bill that recently passed the Senate.

All I can say is……. LOL!

Eat shit, Tea Baggers (or nuts or whatever). Scott Brown is still a piece of crap Republican, but he sure stuck it to you Right Wing trash in admirable fashion.
Please, continue to whine, cry, blubber, scream, shout and holler. Your frustration and misery is music to our ears. :>>

5) Does Dick’s clock ever stop?:

The nation’s most infamous traitor, former VP Dick Cheney, had another heart attack but unfortunately survived it.
We’ll update this entry when we have better news on the subject.

6) USA Defeats Canada in Olympic Hockey:

Take that, Ice Box Limeys. :P:P:P
:)>

Oh, yeah…

7) Peeping Tom Teachers:

It matters not what the motivation was. “Intentions” are of no consequence. Faculty of the Lower Merion School District in Pennsylvania have been monitoring their student’s behavior at home, often in the privacy of their bedrooms, without anyone’s knowledge.
This is done through a program that remotely activates the web cams in the school supplied lap tops that students take home.
The district’s stated intention is to be able to “locate missing lap tops". Sorry, any ten year old knows that you cannot locate a computer through a camera. That is done by tracing IPs.

This is insane and is becoming more so every day. Now it seems that Merion techs made an effort to prevent students from finding out about the cameras being remotely operated.
Brainwrap at Kos has an excellent post about this diabolical activity.

Imagine. You’re a kid, teen, kickin’ it in your room, hormones a blazin’. You undress yourself for a little personal relief, all the while a member of your school’s faculty is watching you on your lap top web cam.

Get it?

Every one of these filthy, possible child porn producing “teachers” should spend a very, very long time in prison. This is major. Major.

Sullivan County Primaries

Permalink 05:57:28 pm, Categories: Bristol Local.

Just bored, so I thought I’d write about the most boring local primaries on earth, with the possible exception of Guam.
The following information was found at the Kingsport Times News

As of Tuesday afternoon, the following candidates had filed petitions for the following races with the Election Commission:

County mayor

• Incumbent Steve Godsey (filed for Republican primary)

• Mark Vance (filed for Republican primary)

The questions voters must ask themselves are:

Q:What has Steve Godsey done for Sullivan county?
A:Nothing.

Q:How is Mark Vance any different from Godsey?
A:He’s not.

County trustee

• Incumbent Frances Harrell (filed for Democratic primary)

• Peggy Bridgeman Campbell (filed for Republican primary)

Q: Has Frances Harrell performed her duties well or not?
A: Harrell has performed flawlessly

Q: Who is Peggy Campbell?
A: Who cares?

County clerk

• Incumbent Jeanie Gammon (filed for Democratic primary)

• Jim Holcomb (filed for the Republican primary)

Q: Has Jeanie Gammon performed her job well?
A: She is the greatest. If you have encountered her, she helped you out in some way.

Q: Who is Jim Holcomb?
A: One of John Gregory’s Taliban scumbags who has no business serving in an official capacity. I wouldn’t elect a Jesus-Pimping dirtbag like Holcomb to be a judge on American Idol. Much less a civil servant.
Electing Holcomb would be like electing David Davis.
Holcomb is the personification of the John Gregory extreme Right Wing (aka Bristol Taliban)’s efforts to remain relevant in the local political scene.
Other notable members of the BT are wannabe Speaker of the House Jason Mumpower and Lt. Governor Ron Ramsey.

If it’s John Gregory, it’s wrong.

Register of deeds

• Incumbent Mary Lou Duncan (filed for the Democratic primary)

• Bart Long (filed for the Republican primary)

Q:Has Duncan performed her duties well?
A:All the deeds are registered.

Q:Why is Bart Long a Republican?
A: Probably because there’s no Libertarian party in the area.
Bart Long is not a bad guy at all. But having a person who makes their living on real estate running the Deeds Dept. sounds a little conflicting.

Duncan should remain.

Commissioner of highways

• Incumbent Allan Pope (filed for the Republican primary)

Q:Why do our highways look like shit since Pope was last elected?
A:Typical Republican inaction. If you think one or two new lights on 11W makes up for the decaying shoulders and potholes you’re sadly mistaken.

If Pope has a plan for our end of the 100% Stimulus Highway Money TDOT is getting, he should speak out. The proper use of these funds could sway a vote or two.

County attorney

• Incumbent Dan Street (filed for the Republican primary)

Q:How has Dan Street handled his job thus far?
A:He has remained on the intelligent side of the “how the Hatch Act effects the county” argument.

County sheriff

• Incumbent Wayne Anderson (filed for Republican primary)

• David Steadman (filed for Republican primary)

• John Taylor (filed for Democratic primary)

Q:What kind of job has Wayne Anderson done as Sheriff?
A:A hearty mix of stupid, dishonest yet practical.

This one is tough. Wayne Anderson is an ass, no question about it. I have personally seen him come through the Felony cells at the main jail, moments ahead of the press, and tell inmates to pick their mattresses up off the floor and hide them under the mattresses on the bunks so the inhumane conditions of his jail aren’t so obvious.

At the same time, John Taylor (Democrat) made the statement that “Anderson’s drug arrests are way down". That makes Taylor a scary candidate (see jack-booted, third-eye-blind Drug War advocate).
We don’t need a drug crusader running around busting our kids for smoking pot and costing us mountains of money just to put them on probation and accomplish basically nothing. Especially since all applicable science proves that incarceration does nothing to rid the community of drugs or stop people from catching a buzz.
Anderson may, by virtue of experience, understand this.
Taylor seems to be unaware that Attorney General Eric Holder said that the Drug War was over. He is fear-mongering. That is a sure sign of a fool running for office.

Don’t know much about Steadman. We’ll see….

Circuit court clerk

• Incumbent Tommy Kerns (filed for the Republican primary)

Q:Do we know anything about Kerns?
A:No.

County Commission District 1 (one seat)

• Incumbent Randy Morrell (filed to run as an independent)

Q:Independent from what?
A:Good luck on ever getting an answer.

County Commission Disrict 2 (three seats)

• Incumbent Cathy Armstrong (filed for the Republican primary)

• Incumbent Buddy King (filed to run as an independent)

• Bryan Boyd (filed for the Republican primary)

Q:Who cares?
A:Who cares??

County Commission District 3 (one seat)

• Bob Neal (filed for the Republican primary)

Q:Hey, are you Bob Neal or is that just what you do?
A: Ok, ok I couldn’t resist. This is really getting boring. Sorry. :>

County Commission District 4
(three seats)

• Incumbent Linda Brittenham (filed to run as an independent)

• Incumbent Dennis Houser (filed to run as an independent)

• Ed Marsh (filed for the Republican primary)

• Billy J. Phillips (filed to run as an independent)

County Commission District 5 (two seats)

• Charles D. Phelps (filed for the Republican primary)

• Marvin Hyatt (filed to run as an independent)

County Commission District 6 (three seats)

• Incumbent Terry Harkleroad (filed for the Republican primary)

• Dean Harris (filed for the Republican primary)

• Matthew J. Johnson (filed for the Republican primary)

• Rodger K. Jones (field to run as an independent)

• Dewey Wayne Shaffer (filed to run as an independent)

County Commission District 7 (two seats)

• Baxter Hood (filed for the Republican primary)

County Commission District 8 (two seats)

• Incumbent Darlene Calton (filed for the Republican primary)

• Joshua K. Russell (filed for the Republican primary)

County Commission District 9 (two seats)

• Incumbent O.W. Ferguson (filed for the Republican primary)

• Incumbent Wayne McConnell (filed to run as an independent)

County Commission District 10 (two seats)

• Incumbent Bill Kilgore (filed for the Republican primary)

• Charlie Anderson (filed to run as an independent)

• John Crawford (filed for the Republican primary)

• Gary R. Free (filed for the Republican primary)

County Commission District 11 (three seats)

• Incumbent Clyde Groseclose (filed to run as an independent)

• Incumbent Joe Herron (filed for the Republican primary)

• John T. Gardner (filed for the Republican primary)

• Archie Pierce (filed for the Republican primary)

Party primaries are in May. The general election is in August.

Lamar Alexander's Stimulus Hypocrisy

Permalink 03:26:02 pm, Categories: Bristol Local.

LOL! Just Fuckin’ LOL!
Lamar Alexander has been fuckin’ up large lately. But it’s really getting deep now. Put yer waders on, East Tennessee. LAMAR! is making a mess again….

First voting to prevent victims of workplace rape from having legal recourse, he now has been caught in the sweetest example of Republican hypocrisy I’ve seen in a while.

From The Nashville Scene

The Washington Times reported: “Sen. Lamar Alexander, Tennessee Republican, who easily won re-election in 2008, said of the stimulus, “This is spending, not stimulus.” But in a letter to Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, the senator sought stimulus money for a project that he said would “create over 200 jobs in the first year and at least another 40 new jobs in the following years.”

Well, LAMAR!
You’ve really stepped in it this time. Certainly not the first or last time, but this is a whopper.

We have to get somebody to replace this useless incumbent.

H/T to Speak to Power

Permalink 12:30:38 pm, Categories: Had to post it

Our dear friends and outstanding West Tennessee bloggers Trace Sharp, Steve Steffens and Steve Ross have joined forces to form a genuine Liberal blog for the entire state of Tennessee.

If you care anything at all about the dismal state of politics in TN then you should be there and signed up and getting involved.

The TNDP has proven to be completely and totally worthless. We’re going to have to fight this fight by ourselves.

GO THERE! NOW!

It has been suggested that John Cougar Mellencamp, the well known and highly respected musician would be a good choice to run for Evan Bayh’s Senate seat.

We agree.

Everybody knows him. So name recognition is a gimme. He is a small town boy from Indiana and that state is very proud of him. He is non-incumbent, non-beltway and solidly for the average American as most of his music will easily tell you.
Sure, he has no experience in public office. But George Bush did and look what a loser he turned out to be.

This is not a bad idea if Mellencamp is interested. He is a passionate voice politically and is firm and consistent in his views.
Al Franken had no experience either and look what a great Senator he has become so quickly.

Run, Johnny. I’ll donate.

Ok, this is really very simple…
Evan Bayh is an asshat. He has always been a detriment to the forward progress of the Democratic party. This piece of DLC shit has stood firmly in the path of the Progressive movement for decades. Most recently concerning Health Reform.
Capitulating cowards such as Bayh, Ford Jr. etc are exactly the problem that has plagued the Democratic party for so long now. They are the reason nothing gets done because they are in it for the money and power and have never had their heart in helping America progress.

Bayh offers up a characteristically lame excuse for turning his back on the people. “There’s not enough bipartisanship” he croaks. Bipartisanship with whom?
Republicans?
:)):)):)):)):))

Republicans don’t want this “bipartisanship” of which the Centrist speaks. Any complete and total idiot can see that.
Evan Bayh and all of his ilk are Centrist jellyspines and thankfully they seem to be getting the message. GET THE FUCK OUT OF OUR PARTY you politically fellating invertebrate pieces of shit!

Jelly Spine

Evan Bayh

I wrote long ago that the only way to make the Democratic party respectable and effective is to give the party an enema. That is happening now as we see the bulk of Democratic backouts are these unprincipled “Centrist” types. Dorgan, Dodd, Bayh, Gordon….All useless, all Republican Lite and now fortunately all gone.

Cleaning up the largest and most diverse political party in the country is not easy. It will take time, courage and a tremendous amount of foresight. But it must be done.
We must cleanse ourselves of those who make us appear indecisive, unprincipled and weak willed. Even if it means giving up a seat or two for a couple of years.
The Republicans cannot unseat our majority. It simply will not happen. This sizable majority is strong enough to provide us with the opportunity to oust a few double agents from our midst. We must take full advantage.

Evan Bayh blames Obama, Harry Reid, anyone he can except for himself. He even blames Left Wing Bloggers for his decision? Cool by me.
Fuck you, Evan. You have never been the man your dad was and never will be. How’s that pro-Iraq war vote feel now?

Buh Bayh.

B)

Yeah, I know. This is a little different for this blog, but our fellow, vic, brings us something so amazingly cool that we had no choice but to share.

Kseniya Simonova is a Ukrainian artist who just won Ukraine’s version of “America’s Got Talent.” She uses a giant light box, dramatic music, imagination and “sand painting” skills to interpret Germany’s invasion and occupation of Ukraine during WWII.

This is a truly amazing artist in action. As talented as she is astonishingly beautiful (as it is with Ukrain women), I highly recommend watching her and remembering her name.

The Ghost of Tea Party Present

Permalink 03:26:30 pm, Categories: Right-Winger Wringer

Another fine point that’s been made concerning the Tea Traitors, other than being scum, idiots, losers etc., is that they really don’t have the numbers or the support the main stream media would make us thing they have…

Sharon Cobb directed us to a very observant post by the great Southern Beale who correctly states, after collecting the facts, that the Tea Party movement is a media creation.

Much like the PUMA movement, which was basically a Tea Party/Birther/Republican group of sexually frustrated Right Wing feminists (all five of them), the media portrayed the Tea Party as some major event that drew losers from the four corners of the universe. Fact is there were tumbleweeds blowin’ through Nashville’s Opryland but you’d never know it by listening to the Corporate Media.
The MSM had some 200 correspondents on hand. basically a third of the entire attendance.

From Southern Beale:

For further perspective, note that in another part of the sprawling Opryland complex this weekend a group of 500 women bloggers, many of them “mommy bloggers,” gathered for their sold-out convention. To my knowledge no national news media covered the event. 500 women bloggers vs 600 right wing nutjobs in white wigs and tri-corner hats. Which one gets the national news media’s attention?

The New York Times did an awesome job of buying the spin that this is just a mainstream group of folks. Clearly they did not listen to any of the keynote speeches, in which we heard homophobic rants about morality, anti-immigrant bigotry from Tom Tancredo, and birther conspiracy theories.

So thanks, New York Times. Way to mainstream the Obama hate.

———————————-

So everyone says around 600 people showed up for Nasvhille’s Tea Party Convention, right?

For some perspective, the first Netroots Nation drew over twice that amount:

But even after acknowledging this relevant context, what we’re left with is an event with 600 participants and a grand total of zero current House members, senators, or governors. There were, by some estimates, 200 journalists on hand to cover this convention, creating a bizarre dynamic – one reporter for every three participants.

It’s all terribly odd. The first Netroots Nation gathering (the conference formally known as Yearly Kos) had 1,400 attendees. The Tea Party convention had less than half this total.

The media attention seems a little disproportionate to what, by all appearances, was an underwhelming get-together.

Indeed it does. But this is just another case where the “liberal media” lie is shown in all of its glory.

And let’s remember the national media’s coverage of the left’s anti-war protests was tepid, at best. It seems if a bunch of liberals get together, it’s not news. But some wacko anti-gay, anti-immigrant right wing nutballs gather for three days of hating on the President and 200 media representatives descend on the convention hall.

Weird.

Atrios is right, the right wing rules their world.

Beale is right. The media is Corporate. Through eight of the darkest years modern man has even known (2000-2008) the MSM, with an exception or two, seldom and in some cases never, reported on the crimes of the Bush Regime. Why should they? Corporate Fascism means great wealth. For Corporate Fascists anyway.

A solid example could be this tragic story that was first reported by British media. An American soldier waterboards his own 4yo daughter for not getting her ABCs right (he should be tapped and dumped in a sewer somewhere btw).

It’s difficult to surmise exactly what American media really stands for. But seeing what they don’t stand for is easy. Truth.

Thank God Scary Sara is forming her very own Tea Pot….Bag…whatever political party. Now the Ass-End of the Republican party will have a brand new Assroots movement to be part of.

(snort) Idiots…..:))

The Tea Bag convention went well for the ones getting the speaker fees. Sara Failin got 100k for displaying her incomparable brainlessness. And didn’t even have to act.
The Idiots who were duped into attending this essay in lifelessness paid dearly to get in. And they are most deserving of the hard, dry fucking they got…

From Politico:

Tickets for the Nashville event run $549, plus a $9.95 fee, while separate tickets to see only Palin cost $349. Republican Reps. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota and Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee are also scheduled to speak at the three-day conference at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel and Convention Center.

The shallowness of this political pandering money grab in Nashville was obvious from the beginning. They didn’t have a Pledge of Allegiance, or even an American flag present.
No prayer was offered…

From the Washington Post:

The convention’s first day lacked the orchestrated staging of most modern political events. The convention host delivered a meandering welcome speech without notes, saying that he had misplaced them. Former congressman Tom Tancredo (R-Colo.) offered a fiery defense of Judeo-Christian faith and traditional American values, but there was no prayer or Pledge of Allegiance to open the convention. Nor was there an American flag in the convention hall. (Convention spokesman Mark Skoda, chairman of the Memphis Tea Party, blamed the oversight on the hotel staff.)

But hey! They got to dupe the basket-cases that were lame enough to attend. “Mission Accomplished".

Some Iowa attendees were eager to display all the cool stuff (you betcha’) that they got for their month’s rent. Nothing like a cool, plastic megaphone and a TPN fanny pack, made in China, to provide one with a genuine sense of belonging…

Here’s some dysfunctional dim wits from Orlando after huffing glue in the ladies room…

Steve at Whitescreek found this gem. The perfect example of…well…I’m just not quite sure. Mid Life Crises?…

Next time you plan on attending a Tea Party, why not just send Scary Sara a check, save the gas money and stay home. Please.
