Ron Ramsey: Caught Lying Again

The Baron Munchausen of NE Tennessee politics has once again stuffed his foot in his mouth after suddenly realizing that he’s getting no primary votes in Carter county.
Were it not for lies, people like Ramsey would not exist.

If you recall, we told you about Ramsey and his juvenile pissing match with TN house speaker, Kent Williams, over William’s defeat of Jason Mumpower for the speakership.
As a result of Ramsey not getting his Mumpower on, he opposed the development of a large fish hatchery in William’s native Carter County.

Recently, Ramsey has done a verbal about-face on the issue trying, in vain, to distance himself from his own previous position…

From the Kingsport Times News:

ELIZABETHTON — Tennessee GOP gubernatorial candidate Ron Ramsey promised Wednesday the planned $16 million Carter County fish hatchery will be built “when the time is right and the money is out there.”

“I am in favor of the fish hatchery in Elizabethton, Tennessee,” Ramsey told Rotary Club members during their weekly luncheon at the Memorial Presbyterian Church.

The project became the focal point of an end-of-session budget dispute between House Speaker Kent Williams of Elizabethton and Ramsey, the state’s lieutenant governor and Senate speaker from Blountville.

Sooooo,…Little Ronnie Ramsey is now in favor of the hatchery…Ahhh so.
But, the Ron Ramsey website clearly defines his position as being that the Hatchery is “pork” and “out of control spending"…

From Team Ramsey:

Senate Republicans and most House Republicans are locked down against the fish hatchery and other local projects – including a proposed $5 million for the National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis – that they say are “pork barrel.” Williams, most Democrats and a handful of House Republicans are standing behind the proposal.

“And it’s more than just a fish hatchery. I do believe it is a symbol of just out-of-control spending.” - Ron Ramsey

Ron Ramsey

Ok…I guess this means Ramsey is now Pro-Pork? Or Pro-Fish?…Pro-Williams?? Nah, I’m confident it means Ramsey is just a Teabagger idiot and thinks no one is listening to what he says closely enough to catch his double talking jive.

I voted crossover for Bill Haslam. Ron Ramsey isn’t fit to lead a Hymn in church, much less lead this great state.

Lying, two-faced, self-serving Teabagger piece of crap. That’s what he is. That’s all he is.

Phil Roe: The Shortsighted Know No Progress

Permalink 12:43:34 pm, Categories: Right-Winger Wringer, Democraps and Republitards

The myopic world of Republican politics is indeed an anomaly. One is hard pressed to find words to describe it, at least, words that don’t offend the readership in general…

It’s no secret what a disgrace Phil Roe has become as a Congressional Representative. He has accomplished nothing in his years in office and not only has he failed to accomplish, he has actually spent all of his time bitching and whining about Obama and exactly none of it providing for the First District of Tennessee.

Phil Roe has decided that his job is to complain. Period. Not bring jobs to our area, not provide for our opportunity and progress, but to bitch. That’s what he does….that’s all he does.

One of Roe’s primary complaints has been about the Stimulus package passed by President Obama and the Democratic Congressional body.
But as Phil Roe complains about the stimulus, genuinely productive people take a hands on approach and actually get things done as we saw in Morristown and the help their High School received from the stimulus package that Phil Roe so vehemently opposed and continues to oppose.

Now we find that yet another community has felt the benefit of the Tennessee end of the Federal Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
Carter County’s Siam Bridge has been fully replaced and is opened to the public, two months early… which saves money for other projects.

From The Johnson City Press:

New Siam bridge among state’s first stimulus projects completed
By John Thompson
Elizabethton Bureau Chief
jthompson@johnsoncitypress.com

ELIZABETHTON — It was a day of celebrations on many levels Tuesday morning in the Siam community as a new $1.55 million bridge across the Watauga River was officially opened.

Tennessee Department of Transportation Commissioner Gerald Nicely came to celebrate the completion of one of the first projects funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act in the state. Because it was finished ahead of schedule, it is also one of the first federal stimulus projects to be completed in the state.

“We are pleased to see this new bridge opened and completed two months ahead of the scheduled Aug. 31 completion date,” Nicely said. “The new two-lane structure better serves the many visitors to the Siam community in Carter County and will improve access to the nearby Watauga Lake.”

For Speaker of the House Kent Williams, the new bridge is a fulfillment of a campaign promise to bring more state spending to Carter County and Upper East Tennessee, which he has often said has been neglected for 100 years.

The old one-lane steel bridge that was replaced was a symbol of that neglect. It had been declared structurally deficient and had dangerous approaches. “The curvy entrance to the old steel bridge was a safety hazard to the hundreds of people who crossed it almost every day,” Williams said.

For Carter County Mayor Johnny Holder, the bridge represents the completion of more than a decade of effort to get a new one at the site after a three members of a family lost their lives when their van failed to negotiate the 90-degree turn at the approach to the old bridge.

“Thi s is a dream come true,” Holder said. It was made even sweeter by the fact the federal stimulus money was used to construct it, removing the need for $306,620 in county matching funds which have been returned to the county treasury.

For prime contractor Charles Blaylock, the bridge project “allowed us to keep from laying off a crew and we were able to hire local people whose wages stayed in the community.”

(Ron Campbell / Johnson City Press)

You see, Phil Roe? This is progress. This is the kind of thing that makes America great. People building and improving and creating.
NOT PEOPLE STANDING AROUND WHINING LIKE LITTLE GIRLS.

Jobs created, jobs saved. Shows just how short-sighted and ineffective Phil Roe really is as a congressman. Even though he’s done everything he can to prevent building bridges and repairing Tennessee schools, we got it done in spite of his regressive efforts.

The Firing of Shirley Sherrod: Too Stupid For Words

Permalink 01:13:08 pm, Categories: Democraps and Republitards, Obamarama

Purge your inner circle, Barack. Somehow, in spite of warning, you’ve managed to assemble not a Presidential cabinet, but a collection of Clinton-era misfits, ingrates and saboteurs who are barely fit to be seen by the public. Much less make decisions for us.

You were warned, dumb-ass. What does it take to get through that power-warped noggin’ of yours?

OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER again, we warned you. Not just us, everybody that supported you in ‘08.
We warned you not to coddle the Right Wing and the Centrist trash that perform political fellatio them on a daily basis.

Shirley Sherrod:
You didn’t take the time to verify. You and your fucktarded staff (Emanuel, Axelrod, Vilsack etc) reacted. You did not think, you did not consult, you did not reason. You reacted and you look like George Bush for doing so.

Not only did you and yours react in sheer politically-correct stupidity, but you reacted to a filthy, low-life, had-sex-with-his-mamma scumbag like Andrew Brietbart and a fake news media organization owned by a foreigner and a Nazi sympathizer FOX News.

You’re the idiots, Barack and company. No one else. You should never had assumed that something on FOX News was credible. You’re as immeasurably stupid as any other American who takes to heart anything oozing from those two traitors Brietbart and Murdoch.

From the NYT:

The flap involves Shirley Sherrod, the head of the Department of Agriculture’s rural development office in Georgia, whose firing had initially been cheered by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.

Last week, the N.A.A.C.P. garnered headlines when it accused parts of the Tea Party movement of being racist. Then, over the weekend, a video emerged of Shirley Sherrod, the head of the Department of Agriculture’s rural development office in Georgia, speaking at an N.A.A.C.P. event in Douglas, Ga., in March. In a two-and-a-half-minute clip, Ms. Sherrod seemed to explain that she discriminated against a white farmer 24 years ago.

Ms. Sherrod said she was pressed to resign after the video whipped around the Web. But she said the clip was misleading. According to Ms. Sherrod and people who have seen the full video, she went on to say in her speech that she had learned from working with the farmer that all people must overcome their prejudices.

In our previous post, we discussed how the NAACP were finally right about something when they called the Teabaggers “racists". I commented that the NAACP was often wrong and today is a very real example of what I meant.
Being idiots also, the NAACP were the first to throw Ms. Sherrod to the dogs…

After seeing the full video, the N.A.A.C.P. said Tuesday that it had been “snookered” into believing Ms. Sherrod had acted with bias.

“We are in a moment where there is heightened sensitivity and concern, including within the N.A.A.C.P., about discrimination against white people,” said Benjamin T. Jealous, the group’s president. He said the N.A.A.C.P. wanted “to be clear that there’s a single yardstick by which civil rights are judged.”

On Tuesday, Mr. Jealous apologized to Ms. Sherrod. In the video, which received much airtime on the Fox News Channel on Monday, Ms. Sherrod recalled working for a nonprofit organization in Georgia.

“Snookered"? No, you mean “we’re a bunch of fucking idiots and we believed FOX News". Now, doesn’t that sound more like the truth?

The message here is clear, Mr. President. The lesson even more so.
If you believe known liars you become a known idiot.
Start listening to the Left the way you did when you were campaigning and stop listening to these half-assed, Right-leaning Centrists that have been screwing you up ever since.
You could have had Howard Dean, Tom Daschle, Bill Richardson…You had any number of intelligent, people-first states persons to choose from and you largely chose fools.

The Right saw a chance to humiliate a good person, one of ours. And in your infinite foolishness you helped them.

Wake the fuck up! :##

Summary Of Current Events

So much shit so little time….

1) Melting Gibson:

Mel Gibson’s cronic foot-in-mouth disease has flared up again. This time using the term “niggers” and allegedly threatening and/or pummeling his Russian, gold-digging girlfriend…wife…whatever.

Just a point or two.

While screaming about Gibson’s life, have you ever thought about what hypocrites many bloggers sound like?
“Boycott him!", “destroy his career!” “Kill him!!”

Mel Gibson says and does stupid things all the time. So do we all at one time or another.
Now tell me, will you boycott a Geena Davis movie? Do you even know what I’m talking about? There’s a scumbag movie producer named Robert Rodriguez who’s guilty of far worse.
Will you boycott his movies?

Some low-life agent named Ari Emanuel has led the anti-Mel bandwagon ever since Gibson asked a cop if he was “a Jew". Ariel “Ari” Zev Emanuel is an American talent agent, founder of the Endeavor Talent Agency in Beverly Hills, California, and now CEO of William Morris Endeavor Entertainment, Endeavor’s successor by merger.
The problem with Ari, who is Jewish, is that he’s a hypocritical pig that makes Gibson look a lot less bigoted

An April 2002 lawsuit by agent Sandra Epstein against Endeavor Agency brought accusations by Epstein and other Endeavor employees against Emanuel. In the court filings, Emanuel is alleged to have allowed a friend to operate a pornographic website out of Endeavor’s offices. According to Epstein, Emanuel made racist and anti-gay remarks and prevented her from sending a script about Navy SEALs to actor Wesley Snipes, saying, “That is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. Everyone knows that blacks don’t swim”. Emanuel disputed these accusations at the time. Epstein’s claims were settled for $2.25 million.

Anyone mention what a racist, bigoted pig Emanuel is? Of course not. It’s ok to insult anyone as long as they’re not Jewish I guess.

People have a right to say what they will. No matter how stupid or incendiary. People in relationships get in scrapes, sad but true. And there is no excuse for abusing another, but whining and calling for Mel Gibson’s head is bandwagon jumping, nothing more. Especially when all the facts are not yet in.
Stop being hypocrites and actually stick to your guns. Call them ALL out or shut up.

2) Bobby Probert RIP:

One of the great enforcers of the National Hockey League, Bob Probert passed away recently, his family by his side.
Best known for his Stanley Cup runs with the Detroit Red Wings, Probert was a high impact player who was a pleasure to watch. He was also a pleasure to know.

I met Bob Probert at Hurricane’s Bar and Grill, in Huntington Beach California, in the early Ninties. Introduced by a mutual friend.
I played beer league hockey at the time and Bobby seemed to like me well enough to buy me a drink and chat.
He was more than well dressed, he was dapper. It was kinda odd, to be honest, to see such a rugged face in a $2000 Armani suit. But the grace, the perfect manners and the friendly smile and handshake fit perfectly. The ice-bound tough guy was not present. Only Bobby Probert the family man, the professional athlete, the instant friend. That’s who I met, rubbed elbows with and remember.
A first class gentleman all the way.

Bad, and good, to the bone
RIP

I still have his autograph on the bar napkin and branded on my memory. His moments on the ice, whether making a play or beating up Ty Domi, I will never forget.

So long, Bobby. Thanx for everything.
L&R forever.

3) The Chamber of Comedy:

LOL!
The only national institution that is more of a disgrace than the Federal Reserve is the Chamber of Commerce. According to this highly partisan, Big Business Republicans-only organization, Barack Obama is responsible for the high unemployment numbers.

Not only did these Conservative shills make no mention of George Bush, the person really responsible for 100% of the economic misery we have endured, but they actually have the nerve to suggest that Obama is at fault for inheriting the problem.

The Chamber of Commies is lying and I am the proof.
My small business is seeing record numbers. My roommate’s employer, a machine shop in E-Town that does work on gov’t contracts, cannot keep up with the pace of the new business they are getting and are hiring at an astonishing rate.

This is just one reason I kicked the Bristol Chamber of Commerce rep. out of my store three years ago. They are deeply partisan and have never been interested in helping small businesses.
They want you to join and pay them money and all you get in the end is the business equivalent of a stupid COC T-shirt.

From Reuters:

By Caren Bohan

WASHINGTON | Wed Jul 14, 2010 10:19am EDT

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - One of the most influential U.S. business groups accused President Barack Obama on Wednesday of neglecting job creation and sowing economic uncertainty with burdensome tax and regulatory policies.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce urged Obama and his Democratic allies in Congress to shift their approach to “unlock frozen capital and jolt our economy back to life.”

The group released the letter before a “Jobs for America” summit it is hosting and on the same day Obama’s Council of Economic advisers is releasing a report that shows the president’s policies are creating jobs and stimulating the economy.

The letter adds to growing criticism the Obama administration has faced lately from the business sector.

Four months before November congressional elections in which Obama’s Democrats are struggling to preserve their dominance, Republicans have pounced on the criticisms to try to paint Obama as “anti-business.”

The Chamber gave Obama credit for stabilizing the economy and heading off another Great Depression.

“The Chamber gave Obama credit for stabilizing the economy and heading off another Great Depression".

Of course they did, so far only TeaBaggers are stupid enough to fail to see that fact.
But Obama shouldn’t take their smug complements too seriously. They will lie through their Right Wing teeth to get a Republitard in the White House.

Now, if they really want to help their country, they should tell those Republican owned businesses to actually start hiring people instead of maintaining skeleton crews to keep the unemployment numbers up so Democrats look bad.
I just hired my second employ and this business is a tiny 1100 sq ft room. If I can afford to hire, so can they. But they’re not, and it’s strictly for political purposes. Encouraged, I’m sure, by the Chamber of Commerce.

The truth about the economic stimulus is HERE. And everywhere in fact.

4) Joe Biden is an Idiot:

Just stating the truth.

From the NY Daily News….

Tea Partiers have gotten some support from an unlikely source – the Vice President of the United States.

VP Joe Biden told ABC News’ Jake Tapper on Sunday that he doesn’t think the ultra-conservative group is “racist.”

“I wouldn’t characterize the Tea Party as racist,” he said on Sunday’s “This Week.” But “there are individuals who are either members of or on the periphery of some of their things, their – their protests – that have expressed really unfortunate comments.”

As usual, we warned about Mr. Rave Act Biden long ago. Perhaps too long ago. Maybe we should display less foresight in the future.

Perhaps Obama should scrape the shit off his shoes before he takes up a second term.

5) The NAACP is right. This time anyway:

Oh yes they are…

From The Atlantic:

This is not some deluded crazy, who has infiltrated the Tea Party with an offensive sign. This is the national spokesman for the Tea Party Express claiming that one of the authors of the 20th century American revolution is actually a “vile racist” organization. This is who they are–America’s far right-wing, speaking with all the emboldened ignorance that is fast becoming their stock in trade. I have had, and continue to have, my criticism of the NAACP. But the notion that they are somehow being unfair to the Tea Party, that President Obama should denounce the NAACP, says a lot about our desire to forget and their insistence that we do no such thing.

I have long been one to question the NAACP’s relevance. Moments like these remind me that I have been very wrong. It is not my style to spend my days attempting to enlighten or embarrass the Tea Party. But someone has to do it. Someone has to say, “It’s not OK.” That is not work for “sensible” people. But it’s work that has to be done. Someone must hold the line.

Not exactly geniuses, the NAACP often complains about seeing racism in places it doesn’t exist. But this time they are spot on and only acknowledging that which we already saw with our own eyes and heard with our own ears.
The Teabaggers must never be allowed to excuse away the truth we all recognize.

Ron Ramsey: Rags To Riches Leaves Me In Stiches

Permalink 02:26:37 pm, Categories: Democraps and Republitards

:))

One thing about a clown, it’ll either creep you out or crack you up. In Ron Ramsey’s case, it’s often both…

Three of our favorite Ron Ramsey quotes are truly classics by now. “…I
started my businesses with a pickup truck and a prayer”

and

“Give Washington the Boot”, with which Ramsey proudly adorns his hideous billboard ad on the Parkway.

and

“…as a
small business man what do I want from Washington? Nothing, just get
out of my way”

:)):))

We’ve been aware of the depths of Ron Ramsey’s hypocrisy for quite some time now. But it’s always nice when he gives us fresh examples upon which we can express our total dismay and amusement.

“Truck and a prayer"? How’s about selling property to get the money? Would that fall under the “truck” or the “prayer” part? Have I ever mentioned that I hate people who exploit God for personal gain?

A 1987 Warranty Deed found in the Sullivan County Courthouse reveals that Lt. Governor Ron “Give Washington the Boot” Ramsey and wife
Cynthia (Syndi) sold a Bluff City, Tennessee lot they then owned to, OMFG! the United States Postal Service for $63,000.
I guess it’s ok for Mr. and Mrs. Prayer Group to receive cold, hard cash from the Federal Gov’t but you and I can’t even have health care from them.

“Just get out of my way” huh. The Ramsey’s transaction documents don’t seem to indicate any desire to avoid the Federal Gov’t as this PDF Document shows us: (Adobe 7)
Ramsey Doing Biz With Fed

Amazing, no? Ramsey stands before the dupes that vote for him with his “rags to riches” bullshit stories and his sociopathic world view, straight faced and wide eyed, and the complete and total dumptrucks buy into every single lie.

Got news for ya, Ronny Boy. I’ll take Washington over a lying scrounge like yourself any day. And when you lose the Republican primary, you’ll finally know what it’s like to “get the boot".

Jul 12 '10

Ever wonder what it feels like for a goobernatorial candidate to campaign on his home turf only to find out that he’s about as popular as bat fungus?

Well, just ask Ron Ramsey. Lt. Governor Ron Ramsey made a campaign stop in E-Town this week. This particular retard-roundup took place at Tri-Cities Gun Depot (Elizabethton) and his supporters flocked to greet him….all six of them.

From our fellow, doeriver, at DU:

A small crowd gathered at Tri-Cities Gun Depot, 1760 W. Elk Ave., to
meet the lieutenant governor and hear what he had to say. Ramsey, who
is originally from the East Tennessee area, empathized with the locals
while touting himself as the “biggest defender of second amendment
rights in this campaign.”

In addressing the crowd, Ramsey shared some of his past reputation for
defending gun rights including his help with a bill in 1997 that
brought gun carry permits to Tennessee.

Packed in like sardines

Ron Ramsey

I guess that when people know that a particular candidate, in this case Ramsey, has worked hard to prevent jobs from going to their community, they tend to remember having been thrown under the bus to satisfy Ramsey’s personal vendettas.

This is where we take the pledge, friends.
Even though Ramsey is polling last amongst the Three Stooges (Haslam, Wamp, Ramsey), it still behooves us to make sure every effort to keep Ramsey out of the Governor’s mansion is exercised.
We ask all Democrats, Liberals, and other concerned voters to cross over and vote for Haslam in the Republican Primary. Every single vote for Haslam or Wamp is a nail in Ron Ramsey’s political coffin. Please join us in this effort, especially if you reside in NE Tennessee.
The John Gregory Taliban must be dealt a fatal blow.
Stopping Ramsey will mortally wound them.

Open Primaries are August 5th. More info HERE.
