This egomaniac even paid twenty million to the American Museum of Natural History to name a Dinosaur exhibit after him.

Odd, even after all that wealth Koch, age 71, still fears being forgotten when he croaks.

Koch Industries/Georgia Pacific are glad to tell you about all the things they do and all the products they produce at their website, but one thing they just don’t mention there is that they are the largest funding source for extreme Right-Wing groups in this nation. Forbes ranks it as the second-largest private company in the country, after Cargill, and its consistent profitability has made David and Charles Koch—who, years ago, bought out two other brothers—among the richest men in America. Their combined fortune of thirty-five billion dollars is exceeded only by those of Bill Gates and Warren Buffett.

The Kochs are longtime libertarians who believe in drastically lower personal and corporate taxes, minimal social services for the needy, and much less oversight of industry—especially environmental regulation.
These views dovetail with the brothers’ corporate interests. In a study released this spring, the University of Massachusetts at Amherst’s Political Economy Research Institute named Koch Industries one of the top ten air polluters in the United States. And Greenpeace issued a report identifying the company as a “kingpin of climate science denial.” The report showed that, from 2005 to 2008, the Kochs vastly outdid ExxonMobil in giving money to organizations fighting legislation related to climate change, underwriting a huge network of foundations, think tanks, and political front groups. Last week, House Democratic Leadership reconvened the chamber for a special session to vote on legislation that would provide another bailout costing $26 billion. Instead of a bailout to corporations – which I oppose – this bailout was for states that have not displayed the will to balance their budgets. We’ve seen less than satisfactory results from previous corporate bailouts, and now Democratic leadership is determined to spend billions more on this. We can’t keep going down this reckless path because it’s unsustainable.

“Less than satisfactory"? Maybe in the eyes of corporate stooges like yourself, Dr. Roe, but to the 8.5 Million workers whose jobs were saved/created, I’ll bet the results were more than “satisfactory". Job loss means nothing to you, Roe. If it did you wouldn’t be a Republican.

Your partisan lies and ditto-head rhetoric completely ignore the fact that the recession YOU AND YOUR PARTY put this country in would have been the ruination of our society by now had the downward spiral not been arrested.

Remember when we were told by the President that we needed a $700+ billion “economic stimulus package” to keep unemployment from climbing above 8 percent? With the unemployment rate stagnate at 9.5 percent, all we have to show for the billions of government spending is more people out of work and a deficit that’s threatening our national security.

If not for the stimulus package unemployment would be over 20% as I write this, perhaps worse. Again, you lie.
As far as more people being out of work, why don’t you hire someone, Roe? I have.

Worse still, rather than offsetting the cost of this new spending by finding some spending to cut, the Majority instead chose to raise taxes on American companies that also have international operations. —- When we are trying to create jobs, why do we make the cost of employment higher?

1) Getting out of Iraq is a major “cut in spending". Spending that would have never happened if not for your party and the Bush/Cheney lie machine. You want answers as to where the money went? Call Crawford.

2) Yep, no more tax breaks for Corporations that take jobs out of America and give them to other countries.

3) “Cost of employment higher"? The only jobs Republicans are willing to create are in China.

FRANKLIN— State Rep. Glen Casada said he was “very displeased” that his 19-year-old son participated in last weekend’s “Naked Mile” through a Franklin neighborhood.

Clark Casada and 11 other males were arrested on indecent exposure and contributing to the delinquency of a minor charges Sunday night for running naked through Sullivan Farms subdivision, police say. One of them was a minor, who was charged with public exposure. All of the charges are misdemeanors.

After receiving a call from a neighbor, police caught the group around 11:40 p.m. running naked along Donelson Creek toward Mack Hatcher during what the group refer to as the Naked Mile.

“We are displeased with that immature action,” Glen Casada said. “His mother and I are very displeased. We dressed him down very sternly. He’s 19 years old and he’s my son, but he is a mature adult. He is being punished.”

The men told the police that the Naked Mile is an annual event for them. This is their second run, according to the group.

Timothy DiPeri, 19; Jared Bozeman, 21; Travis Carter, 18; Mason Albert, 19; Trent Griffin, 20; Robert Watt, 18; Josh Helton, 20; Spencer Martin, 20; George Kakoti, 19; Casada and a juvenile were arrested.

Now, Republican lawmakers want to destroy the only lifeline our elderly, our parents and grandparents, have to see them through their golden years to that time of dying that awaits us all.
Rep. Paul Ryan - R of Wisconsin, all Republicans including our sitting Congressman Rep. Phil Roe, and some Blue Dog Democrats are embracing the disastrous course of privatization. Ryan’s “Roadmap to Hell” is the absolute destruction of our social services.

Privatizing Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid…Completely doing away with The Children’s Health Insurance Program.
All to save a buck they would immediately waste on something far less important.

GOP Assault on the Elderly:

Does Congressman Phil Roe Support the Destruction of Social Security and Medicare?

Congressional Representative Paul Ryan of Wisconsin, the ranking Republican on the House budget committee, has taken the liberty to draw up some sort of “road map for America’s future” that is intended to eliminate the federal debt by the year 2063.
Trouble is, this “road map” calls for dramatic, damaging cuts in critical services such as Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security. The only life lines most of our elderly and disabled citizens have.
Many in the first district are afraid their current representative, Phil Roe, will support these dramatic cuts. His rhetoric in recent months indicates he’s concerned more about the politics of greed than he is about the people he represents.

It is expected that many Representatives in the pocket of greedy Wall Street gamblers will actively support Mr. Ryan’s attack on our elderly citizens, but Ryan’s “road map” is so radical and potentially damaging that even hard core conservatives like Newt Gingrich will not endorse it.

The Ryan Road Map to Oblivion would raise taxes for most middle-income families. It would privatize a very large portion of Social Security and would bring an end to Medicare-as-we-know-it and most of Medicaid. The Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) would be totally vanquished. The “road map” would replace these critical programs with a voucher system. The value of which would surely erode as time goes by, subsequently causing the insurance purchased to cover less and less in the long term.

Such astonishingly callous and unfeeling attacks on some of our most frail citizens are inexcusable and simply cannot be tolerated in a civilized society. We ask Dr. Roe to clarify his position, publicly, on this very dangerous and derogatory attempt to place wealth before health.

But, the Simpson’s have homeowners insurance. That should at least take care of the house, right?

State Farm has a long history of such rip-off activity. From Hurricane Katrina to California Earthquakes and far beyond, State Farm Insurance is one of the longest running scams in the nation. “God did it"! I’ll remember to use that excuse when I get arrested for fighting in a bar the next time. “Honestly, officer. God punched that dude in the lips, not me.”

This incident with Rick Simpson brings this fraudulent activity down to street level so it’s easy for all of us to see that indeed, it could have been us.

The Republican Primary turned out as best it could. The kinda-sorta moderate Republican places first while the Teabagger candidate looks like the fool he has always been.

Tennessee Republican voters might just deserve a little credit for avoiding the Right lane, but they won’t get it from me.

When it comes to politics, things are backwards and goofy enough here in Tennessee. At least now we don’t have to worry about sinking to even newer lows by having an empowered Teabagger movement in the most powerful position in the state.

Today, Tennessee told the Teabaggers to kick fucking rocks by handing Ron Ramsey his ass on a silver platter.
As much as I hate to admit it, choosing Haslam over Zach Wamp and Tea Bag Boy was a wise choice by a voting block that isn’t exactly known for wisdom.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Knoxville Mayor Bill Haslam withstood relentless attacks from his rivals to claim Tennessee’s Republican gubernatorial nomination Thursday.

Haslam had the dominant fundraising advantage in the race against U.S. Rep. Zach Wamp and state Senate Speaker Ron Ramsey, pouring at least $1.5 million of his own money into the campaign during the closing weeks.

With 90 percent of precincts reporting, Haslam had 327,375 votes, or 48 percent, to Wamp’s 199,388 votes, or 29 percent. Ramsey had 149,844 votes, or 22 percent.

Ramsey fared far better in portions of his native East Tennessee, easily winning his home county of Sullivan and Johnson County, which is part of his state Senate district.

He won Sullivan County by more than a 2-to-1 margin, garnering 59.7 percent of the votes cast, compared to 28 percent for Haslam and almost 12 percent for Wamp.

The Blountville native received 11,186 unofficial votes in Sullivan County, compared to 5,244 for Haslam and 2,205 for Wamp.

Ramsey won Johnson County by a 3-to-1 margin and easily won in Unicoi.

Haslam, the Knoxville mayor, was the top vote-getter in Carter, Greene, Hamblen, Hawkins and Washington counties.

Lost in Carter County? Why, Ronnie…why on earth did that happen?
