State Farm Insurance: Hiding Behind God

Permalink 02:43:45 pm, Categories: Tennessee Politics

We all know that the Insurance Industry is the single most corrupt, rip-off industry that exists. Hence the dire need for the Health Insurance legislation that was passed by congress earlier this year.

There is obviously still much more to do concerning reform. Looks like Homeowner’s Reform is a good candidate…

They call it “Acts of God". You pay the premiums, a tree falls on your roof and they deny the claim. Blaming “God” for the fact that they’re too greedy to pay.
That’s the Insurance Industry for ya, you spend your money and bet your well-being on their integrity, only to find out they have none. You lose.

Recently, retired Bristol Firefighter Rick Simpson returned home only to find that heavy rains had caused the back wall of his basement to collapse. Severely damaging the integrity of the structure and destroying personal possessions.

But, the Simpson’s have homeowners insurance. That should at least take care of the house, right?

Wrong.

Simpson, who buys his insurance from a State Farm branch operated by Jerry Green,……
2332 Volunteer Parkway
Bristol, TN 37620-6702
phone: (423) 968-9221

….was told that there would be no pay out because “God” did it.
My, how convenient.

This age old insurance scam should have been banned long ago, but due to the courage deficiency we normally find in gov’t, these flim-flam men continue to get away with their decietful practices.

Now, if you’re one who doesn’t believe in God, this should make you pretty mad. If you’re one who does believe, it should absolutely outrage you.
These lame excuses remind me of that blithering idiot, Pat Robertson, blaming Hurricane Katrina on God. Not only is it incomprehensibly asinine, it reeks of blasphemy too.

So today, because of “God", the insurance carrier feels he is without responsibility to deliver that which was paid for.

State Farm has a long history of such rip-off activity. From Hurricane Katrina to California Earthquakes and far beyond, State Farm Insurance is one of the longest running scams in the nation. “God did it"! I’ll remember to use that excuse when I get arrested for fighting in a bar the next time. “Honestly, officer. God punched that dude in the lips, not me.”

This incident with Rick Simpson brings this fraudulent activity down to street level so it’s easy for all of us to see that indeed, it could have been us.

So, Jerry Green and State Farm Insurance, for all you do this blog’s for YOU.
;)

Good, another ignorant post spreading ignorance. Nevermind that an insurance contract actually consist of words that have meaning. Surface water and foundation cracking, shrinking, bulging and collapse are excluded from every homeowners policy form I have ever read. You just want everything covered for a low, low price right? The only company who could do that and not go bankrupt is one that has a press and can print money!

Well thanx for the input, Alan.

And how is it that you know the exact extent and cause of the damage to the Simpson home? And the exact content of their policy?

They were told that they would not be covered because the damage was an "act of God". Not because of any "cracking, shrinking, bulging" etc.
"act of God" is a scape goat and has no validity of any kind.
The Simpson's can prove that weather damaged their home. State Farm cannot prove "God" did it.

Perhaps if you had at least some semblance of a clue this post might not seem so "ignorant".

Excuse me, but Alan is correct. How is it that YOU seem to know what Mr. Simpson's policy covers? Have you read it? Probably not. It's not just one companies policy it's every homeowners policy. Even yours! I don't believe he was told that it was an "act of God". Tornadoes and hurricanes are also an "act of God" but they are covered. Maybe Alan is an insurance agent. Ever thought of that? I venture to say that he knows more about it than you. Only flood insurance would cover something like what Mr. Simpson experienced. Look into it.

Hi, Victoria.

I got my info from the Simpson family.

You "don't believe" he was told that? Sorry, but what you believe means nothing here.
If there are facts to refute this, only they are acceptable.
The "act of God" scam is nothing new. And a scam is exactly what it is.

"Tornadoes and hurricanes are also an "act of God" but they are covered."

LOL
State Farm's (and the industry in general) tricks and schemes to get out of paying are nothing new either and have been well documented.

Covering Hurricane damage and actually paying for it are two entirely different things.
Don't waste your words, the Insurance industry cannot be defended. Their dishonesty is dinner conversation in every household in America.

Like I said, you need to read the policy. Of course, people like you only believe what they want to believe. People who don't deal with insurance every day think their policies should cover everything. There is no policy that covers everything. Besides, what makes you an authority? Do you deal in the insurance industry? Doubtful!!!

Hi Victoria. :)

No, actually, I despise the insurance industry and most of those in positions of power in it.

I would never, for any amount of money, be involved in such a farce. I thankfully don't possess the decietful nature required to lie to the faces of average people willing to pay money and trust someone to cover their ass.

But again, this thread is about the "Act of God" scam.
Still waiting for you to add something meaningful to the conversation. Since you "deal with insurance every day" you should have some technical material that would refute anything you object to.

And to reiterate an earlier point...
What the policy says does not matter if the insurance company has lots of neat little methods of avoiding payouts.
Take the premiums, deny the claim. That is the industry standard.

My goodness! What a cynical attitude. I'm sorry you feel so strongly about something you know nothing about other than what you make up in your mind. If you did a little more research, you'd see that not all companies are dishonest. Just like all certain businesses on the Parkway are not geared toward drug use. But let's not make this personal. Sometimes we just have to trust the ones who are in control.

"Sometimes we just have to trust the ones who are in control."

LOL

And "drug use" beats outright scam artists on the moral turpitude chart every time.

A person buying a pack of papers is not a predator. They aren't victimizing anyone.
Bongs are not deception, they are not outright theft and they are not betrayal of the common trust.

"Act of God" is all of those and more.

Still waiting for a substantive argument.

LOL. That's rich! Leave it to someone like you to turn things around. Ok. I'm done. I'm not going to try to talk sense into you any longer. You are not open to the facts. You seem to believe only what you want. That's fine. Pick on someone who actually cares about your point of view.

Have a nice day!!
