Phil Roe's Truthiness Woes Pt. 4
Yep! It’s yet another Phil Roe mailout where not only does he do us the honor of exposing his narrow ass for us, he puts it in the ringer for us too.
And he even sends it to me via email.
Guys like Roe (much like Bush) are an anomaly, rarely does the target do the blogger’s job for him.
The Latest Lies of Tennessee First District Congressional Rep. Phil Roe from his own desk….
Last week, House Democratic Leadership reconvened the chamber for a special session to vote on legislation that would provide another bailout costing $26 billion. Instead of a bailout to corporations – which I oppose – this bailout was for states that have not displayed the will to balance their budgets. We’ve seen less than satisfactory results from previous corporate bailouts, and now Democratic leadership is determined to spend billions more on this. We can’t keep going down this reckless path because it’s unsustainable.
“Less than satisfactory"? Maybe in the eyes of corporate stooges like yourself, Dr. Roe, but to the 8.5 Million workers whose jobs were saved/created, I’ll bet the results were more than “satisfactory". Job loss means nothing to you, Roe. If it did you wouldn’t be a Republican.
Your partisan lies and ditto-head rhetoric completely ignore the fact that the recession YOU AND YOUR PARTY put this country in would have been the ruination of our society by now had the downward spiral not been arrested.

Remember when we were told by the President that we needed a $700+ billion “economic stimulus package” to keep unemployment from climbing above 8 percent? With the unemployment rate stagnate at 9.5 percent, all we have to show for the billions of government spending is more people out of work and a deficit that’s threatening our national security.
If not for the stimulus package unemployment would be over 20% as I write this, perhaps worse. Again, you lie.
As far as more people being out of work, why don’t you hire someone, Roe? I have.
And while you’re at it, tell your Republican corporate masters to stop sitting on their bailout funds and start hiring people for a change.
And please do explain how our “national security” is in danger. It just sounds so hollow and vacant coming from someone who just voted “NO” on a Defense Appropriations bill that, amongst other things, provides for our (OMFG!) National Security….
HR 5136
-Requires the Secretary of Defense to designate the F135 and F136 engine development and procurement programs as major subprograms of the F-35 Lightning II aircraft major defense acquisition program (Sec. 802).
-Authorizes the appropriation of $32.42 billion for the Defense Health Program for fiscal year 2010-2011 (Sec. 1516).
-Authorizes the appropriation of $3.42 billion for Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) Vehicles for fiscal year 2010-2011 (Sec. 1509).
-Authorizes the appropriation of $3.46 billion for the Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Fund for fiscal year 2010-2011 (Sec. 1503).
-Authorizes the appropriation of $71.2 million for the operation of the Armed Forces Retirement Home (Sec. 1421).

You were Army, Roe. You voted against MRAPs for our troops? That’s actually disgraceful now that I think about it. You know, Jody Boy kind of disgraceful.
I’ll bet you’d vote for the AFRH funding if someone you cared about was in it. If in fact you do care about anyone.
I don’t see it.
As a matter of fact, you’ve voted against legislation to strengthen our National Security, well…every single time.

Rep. Roe continues to blather…
Worse still, rather than offsetting the cost of this new spending by finding some spending to cut, the Majority instead chose to raise taxes on American companies that also have international operations. —- When we are trying to create jobs, why do we make the cost of employment higher?
1) Getting out of Iraq is a major “cut in spending". Spending that would have never happened if not for your party and the Bush/Cheney lie machine. You want answers as to where the money went? Call Crawford.
2) Yep, no more tax breaks for Corporations that take jobs out of America and give them to other countries.
3) “Cost of employment higher"? The only jobs Republicans are willing to create are in China.
And just before he ran out of ass to talk out of, Congressman Roe proclaimed…
My policy to promote job growth is to create an atmosphere that rewards hard work, keeps government out of the way of innovation and incentivizes our businesses to invest in new jobs and equipment. I believe our economy works best when we reduce regulations, lower taxes and allow families to keep more of what they earn.
1) You couldn’t be more vague if you said nothing at all, Dr. Roe. How, exactly, do you propose to “create and atmosphere"? What reward? Higher wages? Not from you, you voted against HR 2847, the Senate Jobs Bill.
You were for the Unemployment Benefits Extension before you were against it (same link as above).
2) The present gov’t has promoted more innovation in technology than you can even identify. Investments in Biofuels, Solar, Geo-thermal…
More “innovation” than we got during eight miserable years of Bush/Cheney and Republican majority. As a matter of fact, I like the Democratic visionary plans far more than I like the sound of your “atmosphere", Roe.
I mean…go back up there and read what you said. Then read this…
The Current Situation
The country that harnesses the power of clean, renewable energy will lead the 21st century. For too long, politicians in Washington have been beholden to special interests, but no longer. Our new, responsible energy policy recognizes the relationship between energy, the environment, and our economy and leverages American ingenuity to put people back to work, fight global warming, increase our energy independence and keep us safe.
The Solution
*
Chart a new energy future:
President Obama has a comprehensive plan to chart a new energy future by embracing alternative and renewable energy, ending our addiction to foreign oil, addressing the global climate crisis and creating millions of new jobs that can’t be shipped overseas.
*
Invest in clean, renewable energy:
To achieve our goal of generating 25 percent of our energy from renewable sources by 2025, we will make unprecedented investments in clean, renewable energy – solar, wind, biofuels, and geothermal power.
*
Fight climate change:
We will invest in energy efficiency and conservation, two sure-fire ways to decrease deadly pollution and drive down demand. And we will hold special interests accountable as we finally work to address climate change and its potentially catastrophic effects.
See, Roe. That’s a “policy". Your “atmosphere” is a joke. Lip service to the morons that buy into your lies and deceit.
You’ve accomplished nothing as a Rep. Nothing.
3) Our economy works best when jobs are kept here at home and Americans are well paid enough that paying taxes doesn’t hurt as much. Our economy works best when average people have health care that doesn’t put them into a lifetime of debt if they get injured or sick.
Most of all, our economy works best when our gov’t is void of Republicans that give Wall Street and the giant corporations that own it carte blanche to rob their employees so fat-asses in suits can have Million dollar bonuses once a month.
4) “incentivizes” is not a word.
Once again Philthy one, thanx for making things so easy for me. Nothing like a candidate that mails out incoherent nonsense and pure bullshit to help me free up some time.
You do all the work for me, Roe. I hope you find my atmosphere rewarding.
