Citizen of the Month

They come in all shapes and sizes. All colors, ages, religions, and economic classes.

There are even different kinds of thieves, from pick pockets and purse snatchers to corporate raiders and Government Cleptocracy. But the kind we want to talk about today is the Small Business Shoplifter (or SBS, if you will).

Other than Home Invaders and those who show up at churches for food while driving brand new cars (Church Robbers), those that steal from small single owner type businesses are about the most pathetic of them all.
Small businesspeople work hard for what they have. They never have nearly as much money as it looks like they do. Pretty much all of the profit in a small business goes right back into inventory. The State and Federal taxes take the rest (another Bush lie by the way, sm. biz still pays the most).

So why do these losers steal form the little guy? The way I see it, they're just cowards.
They seem to get some sort of perverse thrill out of sneaking about like dirty little mice trying to fill their pockets with shiny little items that really aren't even worth anything. Yep! They gotta be cowards, otherwise they'd be robbing a bank somewhere.
I think also that it's the jealousy. Punks like these are often too stupid (inbreeding will do that) to even open a lemonade stand, much less a real business.

Oh well, we'll catch one of them in the act one of these days, then we'll have some real fun (uh, I mean..dialog.
One can only hope that these useless, wastes of carbon based tissue will one day see the error of their ways. And we all should be willing to do whatever we can to help these losers understand the consequences of their actions. ;-]
