Blogger Greg Johnson states that “Tennessee is poised to turn “Red". Funny, I thought this state has been “red” for decades. Even when it was “Blue".
Johnson’s piece is here, and he’s both right and wrong. Right on some details, wrong on the overall picture.
He begins…
Chip Forrester’s face will be brilliantly red on Nov. 2. Lincoln Davis could be a bit blush, too. Or he should be.
Forrester is the chairman of the Tennessee Democratic Party, and his redness of countenance will come from watching the electoral map of Tennessee go crimson in places that have been blue for a long, long time on a glorious night for his opponents, the Tennessee Republican Party.
I’ve written many times that Chip Forrester (TNDP Chairman) was doing nothing to promote Democrats. That’s nothing new at all.
Forrester seems to think that hammering Republicans, no matter how accurately, on the TNDP website would be enough to win. He never seemed to get that most (likely) Republican voters in this state couldn’t tell a keyboard from a Key Lime Pie.
The newspapers and TV are what gets attention here. He failed (albeit for lack of funds more than anything) to show the average voter why Democrats are better. You do that in the street, not on a web site.
But…that’s not why this state is getting Redder.
We have probably the most uneducated, uninformed electorate in TN of any of the other 49. An electorate that seems somehow drawn to liars and mindlessness.
Many of them FOXbots, if you will, who absorb Rupert Murdoch’s bullshit like sponges. Others, good people but unable to discern the ways of professional liars.
Phil Roe has lied through his teeth with every campaign mail-out and I have caught him in virtually every one of them.
(Google Phil Roe’s Truthiness Woes pts 1 through 7)
I sent him a link to every post along with a challenge to back up his mouth. He has cowered each time.
Liars like Roe tell TN citizens that they are being forced to buy health insurance they can’t afford. The fact is that given our median wage, a majority of Tennesseans will be exempt and our entire middle class will receive subsidies.
Mandatory Insurance? That was a Republican idea to begin with. To quote a Neo-Con named Stuart Butler, of the Heritage Foundation, who in 1993 stated the following whilst testifying before congress…
“…..This translates into a requirement on individuals to enroll themselves and their dependents in at least a basic health plan — one that at the minimum should protect the rest of society from large and unexpected medical costs incurred by the family. And as any social contract, there would also be an obligation on society. To the extent that the family cannot reasonably afford reasonable basic coverage, the rest of society, via government, should take responsibility for financing that minimum coverage.”
Democratic Idea? Nope.
Phil Roe never said a word about our mandatory auto insurance though. ![]()
But his lies are not the problem. The fools and hapless souls who buy them are.
Marsha Blackburn, for instance, is an idiot. Any edu-ma-cated person can see that clearly. But alas, a moron is a hero to another moron.
Yes, Marsha was one of the “Death Panel” Dimwits. Remember?
Stacey Campfield is a circus clown who managed to get ejected for acting like one at a UT football game. Yet people vote for him still. Even though they cannot point to one single thing Campfield has accomplished for his community. Much like Roe and Blackburn.
Yes, Forrester has dropped the ball in a big way, the entire TNDP has. The DNC as well, under it’s incompetent leadership (Tim Kaine), offered no support.
But it’s the people who go to the polls and cast the ballots that decide things (most of the time). And….well, they say stupid is as stupid does.
How many people do you think actually believe that “Obama is going to ban guns"? Even though he doesn’t have the power because the Supreme Court decides constitutional issues.
They said the same lies about Clinton and I still have my gun.
Uneducated electorates are to Republican politicians what a damp, dark basement is to mold. A place to thrive and multiply like so much fungus.
Didn’t used to be this a`way. I guess evolution isn’t all it’s cracked up to be because much of the TN electorate is clearly de-volving.
It’s ok to dump on Forrester, but try not to lose sight of the harsh realities involved. All too many people in this state just don’t know what’s good for them. And that’s a sad, sad thing that I take no pleasure in pointing out.
By the way, if you think Lincoln Davis is a Liberal, you need either a Political Science refresher course or a lobotomy. There will be no difference between Davis and a Republican. Never has been.
Love, kona.
This man is becoming an absolute expert in lying, bold-faced, to his constituency. Sad thing is, those who vote for him are either too stupid to fact check him, or too lacking in self-respect to care.
From the desk of TN-1 Republican Rep. Phil Roe…
EPA Policies Are Hurting Jobs, Economy
Since the Senate will not pass the flawed cap and trade legislation, the Administration is taking matters into their own hands, using the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as their lead enforcement agency. New regulations planned by the EPA could have detrimental effects to our economy – particularly causing a loss of jobs, impeding economic recovery and harming livelihoods.
Last week, I joined other members of the Rural America Solutions Group for a forum to discuss harmful regulations that may be imposed by the Obama Administration’s EPA and have already been championed by the Democratic leadership in Congress. Included in this forum were seven panelists from across the country who offered perspective and real-life examples on how these regulations could hurt job creation and economic growth. Overwhelmingly, the panelists agreed that EPA’s policies are overreaching, burdensome regulations.
Let’s see…no facts offered about how Cap&Trade is “flawed". I guess we just have to take the word of a proven liar on that.

Rural American Solutions Group? Why you patronizing, smart-assed little Gerbil-faced geek.
Why did you neglect to mention that this “group” was concocted by your fellow lying creep, John Boehner?
As the GOP website clearly reveals…
” Rural American Solutions Group Unveiled
Posted April 30, 2009
The Rural American Solutions Group will focus on developing solutions to address issues facing rural America. House Republican Leader John Boehner (OH), Rep. Doc Hastings (WA), Rep. Frank Lucas (OK), Rep. Sam Graves (MO) and other House Republicans unveiled the group today.
According to a press release, President Obama promised to hold a summit on rural issues in his first 100 days, but that has not happened.”Any chance you were concerned that this “group” would be seen as the dramatically partisan joke that it actually is as opposed to the citizen’s group you attempt to present it as?

By all means, please proceed Dr. Boy-Who-Cried-Wolf…
The heart of the EPA’s regulation would be a backdoor national energy tax that will ultimately kill jobs, stop economic growth and raise the cost of energy, food and transportation. They would also double the current regulatory standard on farm dust that would make tilling a field, operating a feedlot or diving farm vehicles impossible - bringing the agriculture sector to a standstill. A representative from the Virginia Farm Bureau Federation said, “Farmers and their way of life and livelihood have never felt more challenged or threatened than they do today by the continuous onslaught of regulations and requirements from the Environmental Protection Agency…. The cost they represent will impact the economy as a whole, and this committee should not be surprised when our economy contracts and jobs are lost to foreign competition.”
Lying dog. Where do I begin?…
Fearmongering has always been a GOP staple when they don’t have an substantive argument. The EPA is entertaining lots of possible measures for making our air cleaner and our water safer to drink. Nothing is carved in stone yet and Farm Dust measures are far more complex than Mr. Roe might tell his intellectually challenged constituency.
FARM DUST: There are measures that large farms and other industries can take to greatly reduce farm Dust emissions. Farm Dust is inevitable, but it’s also a major health and environmental hazard. The EPA will assess the situation and do what is best for all concerned.
I challenge Rep. Roe to offer any factual evidence that the EPA is Obama’s personal revenge machine or that they have actively implemented any of the extreme measures he implies.
Farm Dust can be kept at a minimum and I’m confident that most farmers do their best. Corporate farms, on the other hand, probably are more likely to cut safety for profit as it is with most corporate entities. Dust emissions do require a certain amount of personal responsibility on behalf of the farmer/CEO…
“Try engineering and administrative methods first to cut dust emissions. Use good ventilation in enclosed spaces such as barns and silos. Look at how you dispense materials around the farming operation and change them to reduce the dust emissions. For example, automated feed machines, mechanical waste removal systems, and wet spray methods can all cut dust emissions. Use proper storage methods and consider changing bedding materials, feeds, chemical fertilizers, etc. to low-dust options.
When you have identified and implemented dust reduction techniques, note the remaining tasks and work areas that create dust exposures. These are the job tasks that may require respiratory protection such as a nuisance dust mask or, for more protection, an air-purifying respirator.”
“Bring agriculture to a standstill"….What an idiot. Like Democrats don’t eat.
Fearmongering dork.

“Jobs lost to foreign competition"…. The GOP has been outsourcing American’s jobs for many decades and they are the fathers of it. This sounds especially hypocritical coming from a congressman WHO JUST VOTED AGAINST ENDING TAX BREAKS FOR COMPANIES THAT SEND OUR JOBS OVERSEAS.
HR 4213 facts HERE and HERE.
Phil Roe is all about creating jobs, for the Chinese.
In addition, a new regulation on hydraulic fracturing – considered a safe, well-regulated natural gas drilling technology under the Clean Water Act – would greatly harm domestic energy production and kill thousands of energy jobs. New relegations on solid fuel-fired boilers have also been set, and could result in tens of billions in capital costs for upgrades, in turn costing thousands of jobs because of these losses.
That is a lie. The FRAC Act of 2009 was designed to force mining and drilling companies to disclose the contents of the liquids they use to invoke “Fracturing".
First read the FACTS about HYDRO-FRAC and it will be easy to see the manipulative lies of John Boner’s puppy dog, Phil Roe…
“In June 2009 two identical bills named the FRAC Act were introduced to both the United States House and the Senate. FRAC stands for Fracturing Responsibility and Awareness of Chemicals Act. The House bill was introduced by Diana Degette, Jared Polis, and Maurice Hinchey. Bob Casey and Chuck Schumer introduced the bill to the Senate. These bills are designed to amend the Safe Drinking Water Act. This would allow the Environmental Protection Agency to regulate hydraulic fracturing that occurs in states which have not taken primacy in UIC regulation. The bill also requires the energy industry to reveal what chemicals are being used in the sand-water mixture.”
And……………..
“Some environmental and human health concerns possibly associated with hydraulic fracturing may include the potential mishandling of solid toxic waste, potential risks to air quality, potential contamination of ground water, and the unintended migration of gases and hydraulic fracturing chemicals to the surface within a given radius of drilling operations. The potential costs associated with possible environmental clean-up processes, loss of land value and human and animal health concerns are undetermined. New technological advances and appropriate state regulations are working to study and safely implement the process.
A well blowout in Clearfield County, PA on June 3, 2010 sent more than 35,000 gallons of hydraulic fracturing fluids into the air and onto the surrounding landscape in a forested area. Campers were evacuated and the company EOG Resources and the well completion company C.C. Forbes have been ordered to cease all operations in the state of Pennsylvania pending investigation. The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection has called this a “serious incident”.
Read the whole Wiki link and it will easy for anyone to see through the lies of Phil Roe.
I am all for clean air, and I believe government should ensure that companies are playing by the rules. But what we don’t need is any more ridiculous red tape in the First District and around the country that has not been authorized by Congress and will only harm job growth in our country. We need a federal government that will focus on creating jobs, and preventing tax hikes and getting our economy back on track.
Um, no you’re not, no you don’t and if “red tape” is more of a concern to you than the health of the people in your district then I submit that you, Dr. Roe, are a quack.
Not to mention a liar.
VOTE MIKE CLARK FOR US CONGRESS. Because Phil Roe doesn’t care about you.
