The Answer to the Fuel Crisis is Right Here, Right Now...
So, why are we, as a nation, too stupid to take advantage of it? Or even have the discussion for that matter.....
It's called Hemp Biomass Technology. It's here, it's legal, it's the solution to many of our energy problems.
Pyrolysis is the science of heating organic matter (lignocellulosic materials) without air, or in low air to make charcoal, condensable organic fluids (pyrolytic fuel oil), non-condensable gasses, acetic acid, methanol or acetone. The system can be manipulated so as to be charcoal, methanol, pyrolytic oil or gasoline friendly. At 95.5% fuel-to-feed efficiency, it uses the same technology now used to process crude fossil fuel oil and coal.
Pyrolytic oil is similar in nature to number 2 and number 6 oil and is easily transported. Pyrolysis coal has almost the same heating value, in BTU, as coal with virtually no sulfites.
Hemp oil is so versatile that it can be used instead of diesel fuel or you can fry tempura in it. Before petroleum and electric lightbulbs, lamps burning hemp seed oil illuminated homes around the world. One ha of seed hemp produces about 1000-1500 litres of hemp oil plus several thousand kg of cellulose-rich fibre. One ha of fibre hemp produces about 8000-11000 kg of dry biomass.
As a renewable resource from living plants hemp does not contribute to the greenhouse effect. The growing plants absorb as much CO2 as will later be released when oil or other plant matter is burnt. Unlike fossil fuels (oil, coal, gas) or nuclear fuels hemp could supply us with raw materials for thousands of years, without ever changing our climate and without producing waste that remains radioactive for millions of years.
Now, why in God's name would any society in it's right mind pass such a gift by? Stupidity? Probably not but it's a close assessment. I think it's more corporate greed than anything else. Hemp is a very difficult industry to regulate. Let's face it, Marijuana would be legal medicine if Big Pharma could keep you from growing it in your closet.
Corn Ethanol? Corn is for eating. Hemp is a miracle and should be treated as one. God's gift to mankind.
Only the incredibly greedy or incredibly stupid would fail to implement this natural solution to an unnatural problem.
If you plan on contacting your representatives about the insane fuel situation in this country, if you don't demand they support Hemp Biofuel, you're not doing your job as a concerned American.
Hemp is the way.
